And already highlight of the day probably Sophie here. Lucy Le 7 iron 155 yds. Hand me the keys to the BMW. Yes, please. Yeah, only the seventh group out. She wins a BMW i7. She’s delighted. Her Caddy John Pavoka, I think, is even happier for her. Yeah. And here we are. Brooke Henderson on the first hole after a huge drive down those first. just did 70 yds into the green and set up a fabulous chance for her first birdie. Han uses second into the first. How about that? Took driver off the Yeah, they’ve got a couple of other chances, but here’s Hu Kim at the second for Birdie. The par five. Well done. Highest ranked Korean in the field. Get over the line like it’s impressive the likes of Hoju and Gino Titan. how many top 10s they actually get. You see young Kim. Oh, what a shot there on the par five six to set up a fantastic eagle chance. A hair from left to right. [Music] In she goes willing it in to the left edge. So she’s within a couple of the lead early on. Sit next to me for six hours on the coach on the way down, hasn’t she? She’ll be enjoy being out in the golf course now. Far away from me as possible. Started middle of the green. Let it bleed onto that pin from left to right. Looks like she’s tugged that one a bit left. He used a little bit of the contours on the green just to help. Fourth hole down the hill. Birdie Try. Got a new putter in the bag this week. The very popular face balance that seems to be taking the golfing world by storm. What do we make of the scoring so far? Couple of five unders. Adam top. Kim up the hill on the fifth. This pin is just 10 yards on on the left hand side about there about there is just a little bit of a back stop maybe young Kim positive start so far to the data for her could get better here at eight joins the leaders. She is a player that can get some momentum going. Not scared of going going low. You could definitely do the six-hour drive back up to Soul and one of them is tidying up for par jointly. Oh no, in second place actually just behind Lindy. See young Kim a little bit of help. is trying. Seeing Kim down the hill on nine. Do you think she’s hearing all these cheers going what’s going on across the water? She’s wondering all these cameras, the drones, everything that’s going on. The best at scrambling. Oh, Huju Kim just stuck it into that slope. hair too much. The record continues early there for Hoju first had the better of the conditions and whether that will show on the leaderboard and I think playing the back nine as well cuz it’s definitely the exposed exposed nine gets to two under part this for backto back birdies to get in the red Nice little comeback there by Jin Young. Yeah, lovely stuff. Wouldn’t know it. Kind of got that non nonsense northern attitude. Can see Young Matcher with this one at the 10th. Is it going to turn? Oh, not quite. Say young out in 30. I remember last year at the uh event we had last week in Shanghai last year. She went out in 28 on her way to shooting a 62. Pin in the back left. If there’s a hole in one, I think a spectator wins that mini countrymen. Yeah, that’s right. So, it’s a beautiful shot not far away. So, how they win it is basically when the fans get here this week, there’s a a BMW spectator app. Good pin this for Hoju. [Applause] Oh, it’s a great pin for Hoju Kim. An eagle. [Applause] Well, the shooting stars, her fan club are loving that. She should have probably won in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago. She was the one that looked like she was going to take the title before pipped by another Korean. Oh, and that’s excellent there by Henderson. Ball way above her feet. She had to hit the draw in there. It would have been so much easier. And she had it online. Coming towards the end of her round. called the round in Shanghai on Sunday the one of the best ball striking rounds of her career. I think she’s having a bit more of the same here. Almost pitch this one in there. 3/4 follow through. Gorgeous. [Applause] On the 16th and this would be for her eighth birdie of the day. And my goodness, that’s the putt she was missing last week. They’re all going in today. Fantastic. Couldn’t hold on Sunday. Can’t miss on Thursday. There’s a bunker just beyond her. That’s the slope it’ll take for a two. [Applause] break towards the water. What a better view than the one I think Mji Lee’s got coming up. See MJI’s ball there on the left of your screen. And that is superb. Right at it from the defending champion. And this putt that’s been fooling them all in the eighth. They’ve all been missing it a bit left, but not Teada. missed it the other way was to join Lindy Duncan uh playing partner for this opening round. They will redraw. Although given the way those two are playing right now, they might be playing back together tomorrow. Stay at eight under. Stay in one shot lead. Well done. Last thing you’d want to do is boogie your 17th hole. Win from left to right. Six iron. She is on today. Kju Kim knocking it in tight on the ninth hole. Never really in doubt. Get back onto that back section. That wind’s going to help her from left to right. Stay there. Oh, just missed that back portion that you were talking about. It’s uphill. Second shot. Green had a wonderful shot from here. Just about the same. Here’s the Kada. Oh, what a good try. That was to get to eight under and tie the lead. But an opening round of 65 from the 22y old Japanese rookie just at the top of the hill here in this 10th plays a good 12 yds downhill just to the front pin position. Another nice shot. Setting up another good birdie chance. And it’s been some start from the American. What a fabulous round of golf that is. Got the palm to palm. Slight lean there of the shaft. She goes lovely birdie there to start the back nine for Brook Henderson. Oh, she can’t believe it. Aent Choy now in the par five 12th just got it to the front of the green. She’s just going to throw this one all the way back to that back ledge. Hopefully it’ll stop. Oh, fantastic. What a shot from Hun Choy. That’s one way to make an eagle. Seen a few hold outs already today, haven’t we? Yeah, you got a lovely view there. You see how much downhill it plays. Good club, club and a half. Pin just tucked on that left hand side. Gap wedge for Henderson. nicely. Brilliant shot into the last. Maybe getting another just left herself a little tester here. Oh, struggled in the screen. Well done. Stark now to birdie and shoot 67. Very nice start. Yeah, excellent start for the US Women’s Open champion Maya Stark. It’s not all been Zack Johnson put the toe in the air and almost on top on her own. That must to get to nine under par. [Applause] So 258. That’s to the back of this green. Really, isn’t it? This pin on 37. Oh, that’s a stunner. An absolute stunner from Hanu. That was fabulous to carry it that distance off the down slope with the 3-wood to get that elevation to get it to carry onto that green. That was a fantastic shot. A tournament. That is the difference between getting a top 10 and not and getting the win and not. Like this one, doesn’t she? Club 12. Hu Kim who just plays her own game. Plots her way around the golf course laid up short to the bunkers leaving herself. He’s seven iron. Dialed in. Miley Lee. Iron plate at its best to get to six under par all day long. Filling up the cup. What an excellent round of golf for Hoju Kim. Signature hole. downhill right to left. Oh yeah, pick it up. And look at those waves in the background. It’s been a flat calm mostly when we’ve been here so far. Mi leads going to get up to four under it in. She just just looks so so much more comfortable, confident. And here you get a great look at this slope down on the 15th. There it is running down that hill. And another one for Sei Yang Kim. What a round she’s putting together. [Applause] What a namesake. Seango back again. And her ps are just going right in the middle. Perfect pace. Fairly relentless, isn’t it? It puts young Kim off. Seven birdies in eagle. No drop shots, which is why she is leading the way right now. The place to miss funnels back into the heart of the green. And I think that slower swing speed, slower ball speed, less spin on the ball is going to help. Just the one bogey. Looking to stick this one close and finish with three in a row. No, she heard me. Seen an awful lot of good shots into this 18th green. Just looking to get the speed on this down the hill off the slope. Very nicely judged. That’s what you want, isn’t it? A no stress putt for par. It is because you keep saying this 14th hole, it’s like, right, I’ve done the hard bit. Got on the green in two. Don’t make a mess of it now. [Applause] It’s a pity. She’s another one like Mile’s turned to that broom handle putter this year and seen the the game go back on the rise. 66 pitching back into the wind. That’s going to help her onto this elevated green. [Applause] She’s got an eagerness to hold everything today, hasn’t she? She’s a amazing putter. I love playing with her. I’ve always so confident with the stroke and [Applause] not this time. Not this time. There’s been plenty of times today though. But what a fantastic round you had. Five under par 67. No bogeies. Yeah, bogey free is always nice. Um, I did slightly push it, I must admit, but it was a pretty perfect And with that car. And with the car. I was going to say with the car. I know. I was going for it. So, you know the one’s gone at 13, don’t you? I did hear someone made a hole in one. Yeah, Lucy Lee. That’s a great save out of the bunker. So, that’s two that got in that left bunker. Gemma, you weren’t with us cuz Hannah Green just did it in the earlier hole. Another low round 66 from Somi Lee. Um yeah, that’s the plan. So young Kim walking after this one suggests she likes it and so she should. It’s another super shot from the tournament leader. One more for good measure. What a start to the BMW Ladies Championship. Say young Kim. I couldn’t believe it. You know, they’ve all got their little towels with the, you know, the colors and the names and um, you know, got her fan clubs that, you know, she’s Dumbo. Yeah. So, the shooting stars. Shooting stars. Shoju Kim. Let’s break off that third in a moment because Shu Kim makes another up and down. Those scrambling stats are continue to bulge. More ego. Go ego. Yes. Don’t rule out the defending champion. That putter working nicely. Got off to just the start she wanted. Couple of birdies then it all slowed up. But that’s a nice little Phillip late in the round. Lunch it forward. [Music] [Applause] Beautifully played. She’s number one in scrambling. You know they’re good when they take the glove off for more field, don’t you? Beautifully done. And this has just been it just looks so effortless. She’s now she’s eight under. And there’s every chance tomorrow we’re going to see Seyong Kim and Hoju Kim just gobbled it up, didn’t it? And that’s what we’ve seen this year from Miley Lee. Those puts going in the confidence filling in the Australian. And that is an unbelievable save. I would expect to see this probably within about 10 ft. I think you’re right. Yeah, half that maybe. That’s a good one. Well done. That’s more like it. Oh, the relief finally. Wonder what that will do for tomorrow’s round. The look says it all, doesn’t it? to get to five under and up into share for 12th place. Yeah, she’s got one as well. They can’t miss it seems on this 18th green. So, Brook Henderson finishes at five under par like Hay Ranu. Birdie’s at 17 and 18. Not a problem. What a round of golf. And don’t they love it? Koju Kim 63. It’s a Korean one two at the top of the leaderboard after day one at this BMW Ladies Championship.

  4. Compared to last weeks course in Shanghai, the ladies must be loving this course. it looks like carpet. An actual golf course rather than the garbage course in Shanghai. Don't blame the heat China, it was a horrible run tournament!!!
