To be standing here with you in this moment is overwhelming in the best way. It’s truly indescribable. Over the last 7 and 1/2 years together, we’ve both grown and changed. We are no longer two college kids just planning our Friday nights out. Now I love our Friday nights with our dogs in our beautiful home, probably with shakuderie. In our time together, I have seen you be selfless and incredibly patient with me. Corinthians 13:4 says, “Love is patient. Love is kind.” You know the rest. You are the definition of patient. You love me in a way that I didn’t think could exist for a girl like me. Thank you for showing me love can be calm and fun and forgiving. Michael, you are truly the man with a plan. You never shy away from a tough situation, even if that situation is me. and I don’t always understand your plan or your timeline, but I can see over and over again how it is the best for us as a family. I am so thankful that you are the provider and the leader that you are. It is easy to respect someone when I can see the love for me in the way that you live your life. I promise to continue to grow with you as we grow up and grow old. I vow to choose you every day, seeking your love and leadership. I vow to love you with reverence, respect, and honor. I promise to put God first and then you before anyone or anything else. I vow to love you and continue to learn to love you in a way that glorifies God. We like to tell people we met in college, or more specifically through the Wheelers, and that’s true. But as the age-old saying goes, God works in mysterious ways. The fuller truth is that the Lord used a dating app and a 4×4 club to put two stubborn souls in the same place at the same time. Looking back, I think that was no accident. Without a doubt, he placed each of us in each other’s lives at the perfect time and knew exactly the lifelong bond he was creating. Today, I’m happier than I’ve ever been as I get to stand here with you before God, our family, our friends. I can’t begin to tell you how much I admire your loyalty, your faith, your love for family. You care for me, our dogs, your patience, your loved ones, all with the same selfless heart. You’ve given me grace when I’ve let you down, encouragement when I’ve doubted myself, and laughter when I’ve needed it most. Today, before God, I promise to love you just as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for her. Self-sacrificially, faithfully, and with patience and grace. I promise to protect you, to honor you, to encourage you, and to lead our family with wisdom and humility. I will always be your best friend, your anchor, your adventure partner. Whether that means exploring new trails, traveling, trying a new recipe or restaurant, or laughing together when the pie crust catches fire, I promise to always be a man you can share your greatest joys and excitement with, and still be your shoulder to cry on. Jod, you are my greatest blessing, my most beautiful view, and the answers to prayers I didn’t even know how to pray. I will choose you every day for the rest of my life until the Lord calls us home. It’s about making the choice again and again to love one another in the in between, the ordinary, the storms, and the stillness. the unwavering kind of love that is not just an emotion but a promise. I see God’s work in both of your lives, growing together in his love. You’re stepping into this marriage with God walking ahead of you, beside you, and within you. And I have no doubt that together you are building something strong and beautiful that will last. Just watching them over the last few years, it’s really been an honor to see it from the beginning and through college graduation and living hours apart for them when Mike graduated early and to where they are now with two dogs and a home together and brought us all here today. So, it it really has been an honor, an honor to stand here today, to see it from the beginning. Um, all of it. And I don’t have a whole lot left to say, but Jody, you look beautiful today.
