Luton Hoo is undergoing a major redevelopment, with plans to transform the Bedfordshire estate into a Ryder Cup-ready golf destination. The £170 million refurbishment, led by the Arora Group in partnership with Accor and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, includes a complete overhaul of the Championship Course.

Justin Rose and Gary Player are lending their expertise to the redesign, alongside European Golf Design, the official design company of Ryder Cup Europe.

Atlantic Golf Construction, the team behind Adare Manor—the host of the 2027 Ryder Cup—has been appointed to build the course, with Turfgrass providing agronomic support.

Gary Johnston of European Golf Design described Luton Hoo as “a truly special landscape,” noting that the team will incorporate features from the historic Capability Brown estate. He said it was “very conceivable” the venue could host the Ryder Cup within 10 years.

Rose has previously collaborated with European Golf Design on the West Course at Close House in Newcastle upon Tyne, which has hosted the British Masters.

The Championship Course, set within the Grade I listed estate, has previously staged Jamega Pro Golf Tour, Clutch Pro Tour, EuroPro Tour, and HotelPlanner Tour events.

Arora Group chairman Surinder Arora said: “We are very excited about the whole project… it was always my dream to create the Augusta of Europe.”

The PGA and European Tour Group will ultimately decide Ryder Cup venues in Europe, with government approval also required. With Rose and Player leading the redesign, Luton Hoo is emerging as a serious contender for the 2035 tournament.
