REACTION: US Team loses Ryder Cup
Shane Lowry, he’s got big ones. Plays from the heart. As they said on the broadcast there, plays from the heart. Plays with heart. Has a heart. I think that sums up why once again the US gagged on it and got it shoved down their throats by an inferior Europe squad in the RDER Cup. And I could not be happier about it. I every year I feel like I root harder for the Europeans and for good reason. The US largely I don’t want to say they’re all this but it’s easier to stereotype. I think largely the US unlikable front runners. And you know it sort of occurred to me M as I was watching this weekend. I I root against the US in golf like I root against them in basketball. Just kind of unlikable talented front runners. their own corporation. They’re they’re in it for themselves and nothing else other than themselves. It’s just corporate and they just ultimately care about their brand, not about the team. Do they even know how to play as a team? I mean, that’s a basketball thing, but in golf, it actually applies in this tournament with those four balls and best ball tournaments and that that format, you do kind of have to play as a team until you get to yesterday. So, of course, the US turns it on yesterday when it’s all individual and it’s just about them. But when these unlikable frontr running robots have actually got to play a team match and interact with other human beings, they’re incapable of doing it because they’re just unlikable frontunning robots. And I find the Europeans so much more likable, so much more real. It comes out in those four ball and uh those formats the first two days. What are they called? The forsomes and the fourball. Yep. Uh it comes out in that and they the Europeans just wipe the floor with you when it comes with that because I don’t know the Europeans are actually somewhere in there like human beings, people, actual human beings. Uh Shane Lowry playing from the heart because he actually has one. I don’t know if the US guys do and they haven’t for a while. You’ve lost nine of the last 12. That is embarrassing. They get slaughtered the first two days and it just Yeah, it bursts a bubble all the you know the all the golf Christians that could throw these guys in our face. What about this guy? What about that guy? What about this guy? Kind of unlikable front runners with I don’t know much heart. And so every year, every other year, you go up against on paper talent-wise, an inferior Europe squad who has just a little bit more humanity, a little bit more heart, actual little bit more real people, and you lose to them just about every other year. Oh god, that’s so good. So I for one relish it. I love I I I I root against us in golf like I do in basketball. Sorry. I mean, so people yesterday, you know, and again, I switched over after the Patriots game, which is what I think a lot of people here did. And people were saying, “Oh, this is getting interesting, getting interesting.” And I’m like, “They’re going to fall just short.” Like, and look, anything’s possible. I’m not telling you I can predict the future, but but it looks better. The end result looked better than what the reality was. And they get their ass kicked. So, you went on a run when you were out of it and you got to individuals and it was just you and your corporation, you and your brand. Yeah. You piled up some points at the end when it was just about you when you didn’t have to look and talk to anyone else. It was just you and your swing coach on the country club driving range. Yeah. Good neat. You do that every year. But when you actually have to play a team match and talk to people and look at people and interact, you’re nothing. I couldn’t believe I came out of it actually liking Rory Maroy who I have mostly looked at as a stiff but Saturday he was over the ball on 16 getting heckled got heckled the whole time stood there for four minutes told everyone to go f themselves and then shoved it down everyone’s throats cuz he put it within like 3 feet to win the matching I was like oh that was kind of awesome but the whole weekend he was telling everyone to go f themselves which I can respect well but the crowd the crowd started it embarrassingly they were bad you you see the clip where the MC the actual the gal on the microphone the MC, I don’t know if this was before the day start or whatever, was getting the crowd going on a FU Rory Chan, the girl who was at the mic, like the stadium announcer. Yeah, that’s going a little too far. Hey, listen, you know, I I it’s it’s not so I’m not blaming the US golfers for the crowd. How did that sound? But the point is, if you Yeah. No, it is. If you Google it, you’ll you’ll see it. Um, but that’s I mean, if that’s the waste management, fine. Because the waste management is nuts. Like there has to be a little bit more decor at something like this. Yeah. Yeah. It was a bad look for America. The whole thing was a bad look. The the Friday, Saturday was embarrassing. Scotty Shuffler, the best golfer on the planet, loses his first four matches. Yep. Became one of only four US golfers to lose four matches on home soil in a um Ryder Cup. And if he hadn’t won yesterday, he would have been the only one to lose all five. That’s right. And the again, as soon as was it was an individual match, he won. So, exactly. Stick a finger in your cheek. Like, I know when it’s all about you and your corporation and your brand and your branding and your advertise. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You can lock it. It’s just you. That doesn’t impress me. Not in this thing. This thing is about your country and your team and your fellow golfers and that thing. So, you got anything? No. Do you see the nonsense with Dshambo on Saturday, too? Yes, I did see that. the stepping in the line and chirping at each other like what the hell was that? I I would like to know but Dshambo was too much of a to talk about it afterwards. Has he spoken since? Uh not about that I don’t think. Has Dshambo talked at all? Yeah, they Well, he was interviewed after the final round yesterday. Oh, when he came back and tied it when it was just himself, right? He was three down. He came back and tied it, right? But it was just about him and his thing. He talked. But the day before when he embarrassed himself and lost in the fourball and pitched a fit because what someone stepped in his line or some no one even knows what the hell h or maybe it was was it Rose’s guy that stepped in the line and Dshambo got all upset. I think that that’s right. It was something there was some sort of thing on the green and again they’ve had this in the past too with it happened with Kentley and Maroy last year when someone made a putt and the other guys hadn’t puted yet. these US golfers, unlikable front runners, just the kind of thing I hate per this is my personal thing. I just the talented front running guy or team that just blows people out and it I got I got so much more interest in someone who might not be quite as talented but knows how to win as a team or has got more heart or more balls. That’s Europe. You’re the unlikable front running robot. They play they really play as a team too when they play those team competitions. I’ll tell you that Keegan Bradley I like him. Nice guy. Uh I think he gets it. He should have played because it feels like when he plays he’s that guy. He’s not not as talented as some of the others but he’s got an edge to him. He gets it. He should have played himself in this. But I just looked this up. It further reinforces I’m sorry golf people. I’ve been right about this from the start. You’ve you’ve just got to admit especially your Americans are lesser than the guys that came before him. Lesser than. And it comes out in a tournament like this. I just looked it up in the forsomes and the fourball. Okay, the team matches. You know what Nicholas was all time? Eight- one. Nicholas in the forsomes and four ball was eight and one. I’m sorry. He was 8-1 in the forsomes. 53 and one in the four ball. But the Forsomes I think is the alternate shot. Uh Forsomes is alternate shot. Forsome is the alternate shot. So when it wasn’t just when Jack was in a team, a true team, the alternate shot, eight and one, you know what Tiger Woods was? 49 and one. Yeah, Tiger sucked in this 49 and one. Tiger all time was 49 and one in the forsomes, five and 10 in the four ball. Yeah, that’s embarrassing because you know why? Cuz he didn’t care. Unlikable front running robot. And listen, the fourball is also another one that sticks out. I know that the you know you said the forsome is the alternate shot as you said, but the other one you got to play depending on what your partner does. So sometimes your partner’s in trouble. You got to put out an iron and get a ball and play. These guys, especially Americans, don’t know how to win. I stand by it and I just get proven right as we go on year to year. Forsomes fourball, Arnold Palmer all time, 9 and3, 7-2. Jack Nicholas 8-1, 53 and one. Tom Watson 41-1, 4-1. Phil Mickelson 58-4, 88-2. Tiger Woods 49 and 1, 5 and 10. Wow. Dustin Johnson three and three, five and five. Jordan Speed three and three, 53 and one. Brooks Kepka two, two and three, two, three and one. And actually Kepka’s got a little edge. And Mike, it’s it’s always the best players from over here too. In other words, like if you were to look at over the weekend, who was the guy who uh Cam Young Cameron I he was pretty good all things considered. He’s a lower level guy over the big one on 18 to win his match, right? Yes. Yep. And Henley hit that great bunker shot on 18, although then left the putt short. Sure he did. And then and then uh my guy there Lowry shoved it right up your ass. Oh, that was so good. Oh, and they care. They care. You guys had the helicopters warmed from your corporate sponsor to head back to behind the gate in Orlando. And meanwhile, uh ju just just give me Shane Lowry on the 18th green. This is great. Shay Larry, you just earned the half point to retain the RDER Cup for the European team. You look in disbelief. Tell us all how you are feeling and where this moment ranks in your career. I mean, I’ve been so lucky to experience amazing things in this game. That was the hardest couple of hours of my whole life, honestly. Like I just can’t believe it. I can’t believe that boat went in. I said over it going. This is it. I said to Darren walking down 18, I said I have a chance to do the coolest thing in my life here. And like the Ryder Cup means everything to me. Honestly, I I won the Open in Ireland. It’s a It’s amazing. It’s a dream come true. But the RDER Cup for me is everything. Like and stop there. He’s won the British Open. Yeah. Which he’s Irish. So for him is the biggest thing you could ever accomplish in your sport. And he wanted that more. Yeah, that was that was cool. He said that too when they did the press conference afterward. He repeated that story that he told his caddy walking up the 18th hole. This is the biggest moment of my career. Oh, there’s so much more easy to root for that side than you guys. Bunch of unlikable front running robots. He makes big putts, that guy. He’s got huge ones. Huge ones. It was good stuff though, wasn’t it? It was great. It’s when it gets uh going there, it’s it I need stakes. Anything. My problem with modern golf is I I there’s no one for me to root for. I I I just I I when I was a kid, I was just such a huge Jack Nicholas fan. So, it was easy. Every time it was on the TV, I had something to root for. An emotional investment in the thing and I just I lack it now because I just can’t get behind anyone. Uh but in the Ryder Cup, it’s easy. Oh, it’s so easy to root against the US comes naturally. Oh, listen. They bring it on themselves. I do think too that the event like this course is a good place to do it. They know how to pick the courses for these things cuz it’s riskreward and if you miss, you can really hurt yourself. But there’s birdies to be made. I think Henley made eight birdies yesterday in his round. And these guys are playing for birdies to win these holes. They know they got to do it. It’s I The thing is awesome. And the Americans on the first two days all the way across on the course and off shamed themselves. It was shameful. It was it was a shameful performance by America for for two full days. Part for the course. Sorry, the uh sorry for the analy. You’ve lost nine of the last 12 of them. That’s what you do.

Why is there so much disdain for Rory McIlroy?
The Euros have already started planning their defence of the Ryder Cup. The US will spend the next 18 months navel gazing. That's the real difference.
I could learn to hate Shane .
De chambeauxs caddie started walking across Justin roses putting line … Justin rose basically stopped him. Unsure as to why de chambeaux kicked off.
As an Australian I couldn’t have supported the European team any harder, pathetic behaviour from both the US players and crowd, I suggest you should all be ashamed but Americans don’t feel shame unfortunately.🇪🇺🏴
Front running robots 🤖 is a great line and summarises the under performance of the US Ryder Cup Team – losing 11 of the last 15 matches. That is 30 years of losing. Remarkable.
Europe had 7 of the top 15 in the world and US team minus Keegan had 7 also. Not to mention that EU could include Rahm and Hatton to that 7. Not so inferior but they are a team.
He's right about those US golfers, they are up their own hole.
If Europe team was inferior they wouldn't have won despite the hostility of some in the crowd trying to put Europe off it's game and when taking a shot .it must have been difficult for Europe not knowing what some in the crowd were going to say next.most Americans and Europeans want to win fair and square.
Inferior….???????
bryson arabia, the king's jester, american traitor
I agree with a lot of your takes, guys, but Europe being inferior…I think maybe you've got your "American exceptionalism" glasses on.
It wasn't just that the US players seemed incapable of performing as a team, the European guys aren't exactly chopped liver, we outplayed the US across almost every metric. Except for yes, when they were playing for themselves.
I appreciate you guys talking honestly about what transpired at the event, so thank you for that. But repeatedly stating that the US players are "talented frontrunners" I think continues to feed their ego's and diminish the talents of the European players. A little more recognition of their skills and talents would make your analysis sound a little less like a back-handed compliment. It takes more than "heart" to win.
To think that the Americans could cash a pay check after this performance. And the Europeans wouldn’t
We just needed 1.5 points in alternate shot
The Americans were inferior, plain and simple.😂 they got their asses handed to them, and it looked good. Too bad the fans were a bunch of losers.,
The Ryder Cup should only be played in civilised countries
Keegan Bradley is nice? That's not how he looked during and afterwards – sore loser, making exscuses.
The USA may have had better individual players but Europe had the best team.
That is exactly why you got battered your statement that Europeans were inferior
American disease the sense of entitlement and they think they are better than the rest of the world
Wake up your country is going down the pan and it's easy to figure why
Thankyou for your views ,Its puts faith back in some Americans , After the way the "Fans" treated the players and their wives was F in disgusting !
wow kudos to all of you, coming from an european
Pretty stupid comment about Europe 😊
The American fans let their country down. The American players to individual
Inferior? Disadvantaged maybe, but inferior? The only inferior is the preparation of the US Team for this Ryder Cup. It seemed that they only attended for the money.
I think you are being a bit too harsh on the US players. I agree they have a different mindset but ‘fairplay’ for Americans always seems to come second over a need to win. It was good to see JT actively trying to quieten the yobs while Rory was playing. By far the bigger problem was the USPGA. Failure to control the yobs. Don Rae’s pathetic presentation when, in my view, he deliberately substituted ’retained’ for ‘won the Ryder Cup’ and then comes up with a half baked excuse for the foul behaviour of some fans. Keegan Bradley didn’t do himself any favours either with the cry baby excuses regarding the half point per team for a player being stood down for injury.
I certainly agree that the Europeans still uphold the ‘spirit of the game’ demonstrated by Nicklaus in the 1969 concession to Tony Jacklin. American golf seems to have substituted that for win at any cost.
"Inferior" 😂😂 o stop it guys the Europeans beat you Americans fair and square
INFERIOR????? seriously… cop yourself on.
I loved the European chants from the crowd!
This American guy calling Rory mcilroy a stiff 😂 Rory grew up in Belfast ffs
The US team is usually superior on paper, but this was one year when it wasn't. I think most of the experts were agreed that based on form this season the Europeans were superior.
Americans are one F uped country. Go Europe.
I would say when we are looking at strict stroke play in tourneys us Americans produce the better golfers. That being said the Ryder cup is a team game and the Europeans are a far better unit and have been for a long time. Look at Ian Poulter, a good player but not on the level career wise as a guy like Tiger Woods….Poulter's Ryder cup record blows Tiger's out of the water
Americans are like babies. They have to see the everything as win or loose. Nothing in between.
Happy to hear you big up the European boys but need to watch it so you get your story right, as you got the information wrong of the issue on hole 15 with Bryson.
Great commentary/opinions guys!!! Yes, Americans are very unlikeable. Way to go Team Europe from Canada!!!!
Isn’t that Americans in general
How many recent tournaments have USA played…9. How many have they won? 0!
There’s no I in team!👍
US capitalism, individualism and greedy society. Europe teamwork, socialdemócracy and empathy sociwty. And in golf aswell
What kind of logic is using this guy, 'inferior european team'. They won pal !
