Okay, less than an hour to go until it all gets underway in the singles at the RDER Cup. But Jamie Weir is rejoining us now live from Beth Page Black because Jamie, you’ve got some breaking news for us. What can you tell us? Yeah, that’s right, James. Breaking news and disappointing news for Europe and for Victor Olin because he is unable to play in today’s Sunday singles. He had to pull out of yesterday’s afternoon session with a neck injury. I spoke to some guys within the team last night uh sorry yesterday afternoon and they said it was just precautionary that he’d be fine for singles. Spoke to his caddy Shay Knight whilst walking the course yesterday afternoon and Shay said the same to me. Yeah, he’s fine. He’ll be fine for tomorrow. Well, that isn’t the case. Unfortunately, that neck injury was worse than originally feared and he is unable to play in today’s singles. He was so impressive in this match alongside Bob McIntyre yesterday morning in winning a point for Europe. He was due to be the last man out today um facing Harris English. Harris English is the man who has been withdrawn by the USA as well. Now, as per the rules of the RDER Cup, each captain has to provide a name in a sealed envelope before the singles um who will withdraw in the case of an injury to another player. That is unfortunately for Harris English him. So, he will no longer play. He was due to face Victor Hovland as well. So the match score now stands at 115 to Europe. That match goes down as a half for each player. So hugely disappointing news for Victor Hovind. I’m sure he was hoping to go out there today and get a full point for his team and try to contribute towards what could perhaps be a record score line for Europe. But it goes down as a half point that anchor match between Harris English and Victor Havland. And the score of the RDER Cup is now 115 with 11 singles matches to come very shortly indeed.
