New Disc Golf Disc | Is It Another Destroyer Clone?

This new disc from Doomsday Discs is something different. If nothing else its color combo and half clear half opaque design is unique. The flight was something else that really surprised me. It’s not your typical Innova Destroyer clone. The Flight felt more over stable and had somewhat less glide than other discs with similar rim widths.

What’s going on, guys? Welcome back to the channel. Doomsday sent me the Oblivion, and just by the looks of it, I’m like, there’s no way that my noodle arm lefty uh is going to be able to get this to go anywhere. I mean, we’ll see that later. I’m going to try to throw it, but I called up JD. He throws pretty far on courses. I could average about 450 pushing 500 consistently. I’ve seen him throw personally whenever he was in the No Tour to Pro Tour series. That’s on the channel. So, you can actually go check uh his journey out in that because he made it all the way to the finals. I’m not going to tell you if he won or lost. You’ll have to go check that series out to find out. I’ve seen him personally throw over 500 cuz we shot the teapad with a rangefinder. Yep. It was like 510 or 520 something around there. Yeah. So, I know he can crush. Well, we’re going to play a doomsday only round out here at Freeman Lake. A few super holes, so a few like crazy holes on the course that rarely get seen on the channel. And uh we’re going to do alternate shot doubles. We’re also going to be throwing, let me go grab it. We’re going to be throwing the uh cheese slice is what I like to call it. Everybody’s favorite slice of cheese. The oxymoron from Doomsday. We’re going to be throwing that within 100 ft and see how well we do for nine holes. super holes out here at Freeman Lake. And we’re playing from hole one to hole two here at Freeman Lake. And I’m going to try to throw this at least 400 out there to the right. Ideally, it might not go that way, but we’re going to at least try it. Look at how pretty this thing is. It looks sick. It’s got the red and the blue. It’s pretty cool. Oh, that thing’s kind of stable. Uh-oh. That’s got some beef on it. It does have some beef on it. So, I’ll throw some footage of JD throwing the curl, which is what we kind of thought it would be close to. Kind of like a beat up wraith or beat up destroyer. Um, it’s pretty overstable. JD was expecting that Oblivion to flip up just a little bit. I’m going to throw the chemtrail because if he can’t throw it, I’m definitely not going to be able to get it to flip up and do anything lefty. I would have to throw it on a roller probably because I’m gonna try to get him out there for a pretty good spikeheiser of a second shot maybe. Really just need to get past those trees. Past those trees. Yeah. Oh, let’s go. Yeah, that’s awesome. That’s a little sketchy. That’s low ceiling and trying to push an annheiser out of it. There’s no shelf hardly and the wing feels I mean pretty wide to be I think they said it was a slower speed too like a nine speed or something Wait a second. Uh-oh. That didn’t flex one bit. That didn’t flex back out at all. What in the world? That was That was kind of weird. Yeah, maybe it just holds whatever line you put it on. I threw it almost slightiser off the tea back there and it never flipped over. It just stayed straight that it literally just held. So hole five will be our next option to be able to like just crank on it. Throw it flat and see chemtrail. You think? Maybe. Nope. That’s not flat and straight. That’s actually better than it could have been though. Oh yeah. Oh man. Yeah. We should have done that. I should have done that. That was really good. She got some beef cuz it never even tried. It feels a whole lot better than I ever imagined it. But for a slice of cheese, it’s not bad. I guess I’m going to have to give it a try. I don’t know. It feels throwable until you throw it. It almost feels like a dinner plate. like some of them square dinner plates. It almost feels like that. I think for my first impressions, I want to throw a forehand with it. This is Oh, this just feels weird, dude. Oh, no. Gun. Wait a second. Come on in. Oh yeah, that’s a putt. Wow. We may be able to make that. That flies a whole lot better than than you think a square would. We could have got here in par. Yeah, for sure. Five. And I’m also throwing disc I’ve never touched in my life. So, yeah, like you you also had a very overstable T-shot and a very wonky second shot because we don’t know what that disc is going to do yet. And I’m going to have a wonky putt. Oh, that was so close. That was so close. It was a good putt. It’s just a piece of cheese. So, we’ll just tap in for seven. Maybe if it was an actual piece of cheese, it would stick to the chains. It would. Yeah. Melt around them. It would like melt around and grab them. I’ve been on a diet, so if it was an actual piece of cheese, it’d be in danger because I would be trying to eat it. This hole is like you said, unique. This is something you see out of wild. This is hole two to hole three. Super hole. If you look way down there to that wood line, we’re throwing straight there and straight right. Just pretty much dog leg. It’s just pretty much throwing as hard as you can twice to get there. And up here at the corner to the right side, we’ve got a mando. That itself is hard to hard to hit the mando. So, and the second half of the hole is all tunnel. Put some Annheiser on it. See if it’ll flex and coast. But we’re going to find out. All right. That sets me up for It’s got bad luck built in. If you got it from me, that’s my stable one. [Music] Oh, you got it. Oh, see headache. If we would have said yeah, that would have never happened. Thanks, guys. Hey, thank you guys. It’s pretty vibrant. So, I’m going to mark it with a a footprint. We’re playing with an oxymoron. We can’t be too serious. I’m just going to try to get it in the fairway and then JD can throw the oxymoron in from there. Oh, yeah. [Music] Dude, you were throwing this thing so good. That’s pretty consistent so far. You guys may not have seen it, but the last hole it did pretty much the same thing. Had like the hiser finish. Pretty consistent. That was That looked really good. This little piece of cheese. [Music] Wow. Hey, that kicked us back in. I may be able to make like a jump putt that. Keep in mind I’m aiming I was aiming toward these left woods. One, two, three. So if I make this, we get Pro Tour par. Pro Tour is not going to play with an oxymoron. I would call this a par five with this. Pro Tour par4. I mean, that’ll work. It It’s stuck. It’s not going to roll away. Shouldn’t. It’s square. I have seen stuff go against the grain though. This will ruin your day on purpose. It will find a way. It will find a set of stairs and it will go down and roll them. Yeah. Like that square bike. Yes. Meme or whatever. Oh wow. That’s That just feels weird. It feels so awkward trying to putt it. Oh man. Oh, it caught it. Uh, hey, it’s still pushed through. Yeah, I’ll put the piece of cheese down. I’m scared of hitting this. Yeah, but until I’m righty again, I’m going to be scared of hitting every tree in the fairway. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I shanked it, but it didn’t matter. Didn’t matter. I think that’s what I like about it is I have the confidence to really rip on it. lefty and I know that it’s going to fight out of it. But it does it does remind me of a disc I have. It’s a Wrangler from Lonear. It’s a Nspeed Flight with about a 11speed rim. So, I’ll try it with a little short shot. This might not go well, but it’s what we’re working with. Oh, no. Oh, I actually kicked it back. These They just love me. I mean, it just uh it likes to stay in the fairway. In this spot, I’ll throw a putter. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I’d be throwing gap really slow. I’d be throwing a Houdini, you know. Or if I threw a mid, it would be an overstable mid. Exactly. Oh. Oh, it rolled. It did roll. It did a cartwheel. It got a little It got a little squirly. JD’s going to clean this up and then we’re going to see how far he can throw it on hole five. If he throws uh into a tree way early, we’re gonna just go get it and have him throw it again because we want to see how far this goes. He just tapped in behind me. See if See if I can get it to flex a little better over top of everything and then pan. Oh no, it’s going to come back. Oh, wait a second. It turned. I think it’s going to be good. It’s just going to be way down there. Huh. I don’t I didn’t see it land. That actually turned. I seen it cut a piece of tree down. I’m going to mark it with the cheese slice. It’s actually been doing pretty decent for me cuz I can just kind of shank it. Lefty. I mean, that’s up there for a putt. That’s a putt. If I could have thrown that flat, I put it I threw it out pretty well hiser. I think if I could have threw it flat, it would have actually pushed up close to the basket. Not a slow arm disc. Unless you want something really overstable and then it would be I I want to try to step at it, but it I don’t know this is going to go. This is for par. Our first and only par. Come on. That’s up there for a tap in. That’s actually nowhere near as bad as I thought it’d be, but just throwing it, it’s like it has like you have to spin putt it. Yes, you can’t push putt it because it has no flight. So, now we got a pretty good opportunity to see maybe more of like a spikeheiser or a flex to skip shot is the two options on this next hole. Where them two big trees connect, there’s a gap there. I almost want to try to hit that gap low on the hiser. Let it let it hit the ground and skip or I will be stable. Huh? Wait a second. Whoa. I seen it. Try this plague and see how it goes. That feels a lot grippier and feels more like lonear plastic. That’s in the That’s in their like landfill plastic. So that’s re uh recycled which I also haven’t thrown anything else that’s not lonear in you know how long. Yeah. Oh yeah. That’s money. That is money. Whoa. I think if I could get it through this little pocket. But it’s going to push too deep. Huh. But you’ll be able to see the basket at least. Yeah. See what I mean? It’s going to push too long. That’s doable. Here’s what I was trying to do. Yeah. Let’s see the roller. This is the chemtrail, so it’s not going to roll the same. But this is a cut roller. No, it ain’t. [Music] So, like yo-yo roller with that disc would have cut like like that. Oh man, that’s standing up probably in the creek. That’s what I wanted to do with the other disc and it would have held the cut. Might give this a little bit of a bid. Oh. Oh, that was close. That was actually a good shot. I expected it to kind of lift, but we’re uh we’re kind of doing what I expected us to do. That’s good though. It’s a tap in, but it’s it’s really not with this. Yeah. A little bit about this hole. It’s hard to explain, but it’s almost dead straight just with a bunch of stuff in your way. There’s a high flex route to at least get you about 350 pushing 400. And that’s about where I’m going to aim at. Oh, same thing. Oh, same tree. This is a tough hole to hit that gap. Like a hiser flip. Yeah. Here, I’ll I’ll try my curl. And this this will hold. And this I could throw on hiser and just pretty much trust it instead of having to force myself to aim out that way. Yeah. Yeah, that smashed. That like touched the tree in whole nine’s fairway. It’s probably four 380. It’s close to four. I didn’t throw it hard. I threw it smooth. Yeah, I can get you to the basket short of it. But yeah, I think we can make it work. I actually put it in good forehand. So JD’s talking a little strategy. He wanted me to get him kind of there so that he could forehand it up the hill and we can maybe get a par. Get off. Oh. Oh, pretty close. That was looking really good. That That’s a tester with a piece of cheese. I’ll try I’ll try the Houston from Lonear on a forehand. I I’ll put some heat on it. So, if it hits, it’s staying. Come on. That had to be close. Yeah, that was just over top of it. Wow. Oh no. Oh no. I see what people were saying about that lift cuz I didn’t throw it that high at all. This is rough. All right. This is for double bogey putting with a piece of cheese, though. Come on, baby. Oh, let’s go. Lefty cheeseburger. Pretty much want to start out with a almost roller. Let it flex. Woo. That smashed. Oh no. [Music] Oh man. I didn’t think that tree was as high as it was. That’s actually a pretty good rip. That’s with the Oblivion. So I think chemtrail would have went a little farther. Yeah. So if you park this, we get an easy par. Yeah. Oh no. Whoa. That is not an easy par. Whoa. I think our bogey streak. Nice. That is crazy. I just barely snapped it. Yeah. If it gets any spin, it’s done. That is a rough spot that we are in to just throw up in that pocket. Yeah. And let it just just hope it does what it did for me. Let it maybe anheiser. [Music] Almost. I think if I could have put a little more sauce on it. I’ve never thrown a disc and felt so confident and it do the complete opposite. Overconfidence with an oxymoron is uh setting it up for failure. Straight failure. This This ain’t an easy putt. Especially for about 40. Especially with this. It is not easy. Come on. Oh, that looks so good from here. [Music] Still almost missed that. We cut our stuff just a little short. Two holes short. Yep. Uh starting to get dark on us. I don’t even know what we shot it. It It wasn’t good. You do. We shot neg 12, I think. Yeah, neg 12 in um 12 Overland. This last hole, we got what? A double. Yeah, we were in perfect position. What’ you think of the Oblivion? I thought it was pretty nice. I mean, it’s also a little different for me to throw other plastic since I mainly throw Lonear. It felt really good. It’s a little bit of a faster disc. Pretty for my speed, it feels almost neutral, a sl a little bit of stability. You throw it flat, kind of kind of turn up and push. It’s It feels like a wraith. Yes. Really feels like a wraith or a curl. um any of those kind of discs in that category. I think once it gets beat in and stuff, it would fly maybe like a Halo Wraith, something that’s pretty overstable 11 speed. Uh but like JD said, there’s no glide. It pretty much, you know, whatever line you throw it on, it’s it’s going to hold it and then kind of dump with that flare skip. Anytime you have a wide rim, the disc will flare skip. So JD was just helping me test this out. He’s not throwing it. He’s not bagging it. Uh, what would you compare it to in their lineup? To me, it almost compares to similar to like a Nimmitz. A Nimttz is an 115gative13. So, a Nimttz would bear for Lonear. Absolutely. That’s the video, guys.
