Welcome back to the lads. We’re back with another episode of the course record series here at the barn. Last time we had good good on the channel and Garrett Clark had a solid day setting the amateur course record at two under. Today someone’s coming for that record. The dual athlete himself, Evan Thompson. Bruce is on the bag for Evan while Bat Ruff and I are jumping in to see if we can take down my pro record of 600. Let’s get into it. But first, we’re throwing a few questions at our lad, Evan. Let’s go. What’s your name? Evan Thompson. Handicap. Plus four or 3.8, I think, right now. Okay. Plus four. There was no cars available. Then we tried to uh book another flight for the next day. There was no flights available. Then at the last minute, God opened a uh ticket and then we uh were here. Leg absolute legend. The guy’s zero sleep just off a plane and he’s coming to shoot a course record. He deserves stepped on your ball. So now you Sounds like a lot of complain. Yeah, it’s on me. That’s I saw that. I got a 60°. I think uh we’re going to go right at this one, huh? Yeah, you can split the cameraman and the 50 flag. Absolutely, Mike. Get up. Get up, A. Get up. Stay there. Missing the green from 50 is kind of tough though, bro. This is a hard shot. So there’s a whole I’m just going to land it on top of the bank, one bounce it down there. Have you seen him uh putt at all? Uh I’ve seen him putt a little bit, but I don’t know him. I don’t know him too well. And he’s a little shaky. He’s a little shaky. Cameraman, look at him. He’s smiling over there. He’s got his hand over his face. Well, you know what the good thing is is what we like about this course record series. I can actually uh help the person out after the course record series is done. So, we’ll see how it goes. Kind of a straightaway chip here. This is actually holable. What are you laughing at, Jason? So, you can use the slope, but his pin was further right. Okay. So, if you hit it left, the putt won’t You want to be You want to be from the pin to the right edge of the green. That’s perfect. So, if I’m going here, so the feel versus real is a little bit different, but we have this is 8:00, 9:00, 10:00. Now, that for me, it might be a little bit more than all that, but what we want to do is we want to make sure that we’re far enough left. 8:00, we’re driving it down. We want to take a lot of the spin off through the trajectory of the flight. Um, it is soft out here. That’s why I’m hitting an 8:00. I hit my 52 about 100 130 yards. So, 120 is 10:00. Uh, 110 is 9:00. And obviously 100 is an 8:00 shot. So, take a lot of the spin off through the trajectory of the shot. We’re looking pretty low. Um, somewhere between like know 50 ft or so, maybe less of of apex. Just drive that thing in there. 56, bro. Oh, yeah. Love it. I’m going to land it just a bit past that. You got to hit a really good shot into this back shelf. It’s a really small landing area, but it’s doable for sure. Hey, what’s that tattoo on your shoulder? This is It’s called the masi in Fiji. Really? So, it’s like uh patterns to where you come from in the different villages and in different islands. So, this is the kind of pattern of where my dad from. Yeah. That’s really cool. I think that’s a great thing to learn in this situation, especially for me. I’m blessed and honored to be out here, and this is what I do for a living, so it’s crazy. So 60°.
