A two-time Wimbledon champion, US Open winner, and double Olympic gold medalist 🏆, Murray retired from tennis last summer and has since taken golf seriously—reportedly playing off a handicap of just one. Recently, he even went viral after sinking a stunning eagle putt at the 18th hole at St Andrews 🤯.

Murray says playing at the Home of Golf feels just like stepping onto Centre Court at Wimbledon—a venue filled with history, atmosphere, and prestige. The Alfred Dunnhill Lynx Championship is set for another star-studded edition with Andy Murray confirmed as one of the celebrity entrance in this year’s field. The DP World Tours iconic program has long been a fan favorite, blending worldclass golf with star power from across the sporting and entertainment worlds. Now, tennis great Murray will swap his racket for golf clubs as he makes his debut at the home of golf. On the tennis court, Murray built one of the most remarkable careers of his generation, winning Wimbledon twice, the US Open once, and capturing two Olympic singles gold medals in 2012 and 2016. Now retired from professional tennis, the Scotsman is embracing his passion for golf. I’m really looking forward to this, Murray said ahead of the event. It’s very special to be able to play in a full-blown professional tournament. And for a Scott like me to do in Scotland at such a unique location makes it even more exceptional. In many ways, the old course at St. Andrews is very similar to center court at Wimbledon. They both carry that historic aura and atmosphere that you just don’t find anywhere else in sport. It will be a pleasure to savor that. Murray has already shown flashes of talent on the links. Just last week, a Callaway video went viral after capturing him hauling a stunning eagle putt on the famous 18th green at St. Andrews. With a reported handicap of around one, he’ll now get the chance to put his skills to the test alongside some of the world’s top professionals. The championship will once again feature a world-class lineup with Brooks Kepka, Robert McIntyre, Trell Hatton, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, and Bubba Watson among the headline names confirmed.
