Welcome back to the channel! In this video I talk through all the shoes that I use to get me through my 220km+ training weeks. Marathon training requires good training shoes, and adidas are not short in this department.

  1. I don't take the commodity fetishism around shoes seriously. I saw an amazing statistics that showed that the tend in foot injuries for runner was still seemingly remorsely increasing despite the legion of technological "advances" made in shoe design. I do though respect your opinion and your integrity. Question though, how important in your view is it for runners to have a shoe rotation? What "kind" of runner are we talking about? Is it a out sub elite runners and above is there somethinf about frequency and weekly mileage which the determining factor? If so can you give an indication of what sort of mileage trigger should prompt one to consist shoe rotation? 🎉

  2. I’m all Adidas shoes too and my rotation is Evo SL (just bought another pair at a good discount for £104), Pro 3 and Pro 4.

  3. EVO SL (not a great fit for me but I like them)
Prime X 2 Strung (insane shoe!)
Pro 3 (fits me sooo well, no idea why people slagged the upper??)
Pro 4 (think I’m too heavy for it tbh, but energy return is elite)
Takumi Sen 10 (boing boing boing)
    Pegasus 41 (pure walking/recovery)
Alphafly 3 (got it on insane discount and yeah it’s very very good)

  4. I agree Cole, Evo SL is a great daily. Intervals in the Takumi & racing in the pro 4 or pro 3. I also have some NB more v5 for recovery days when my legs are trashed.

  5. I just got some Evo SLs, ASOS were doing 25% off so picked them up for £97.50! The best £97.50 I have ever spent, they are amazing value!

  6. I have a pair of EVO SLs that I love for my shorter, faster stuff.

But I’ve always been a Nike Pegasus guy and just picked up a pair of vomeros to help with the higher volume.

I’m definitely considering the AP4s for race day though!

  7. Where are the Diadoras?🧐😂

Massively agree on the EVO SL comments, I do every threshold and most track session in mine and they haven’t let me down yet 👌

  8. Tbh who cares what a foam is called and how much of it there is, or it has a carbon or nylon plate – key part is whether they are good to run in – period!

  9. I am 91 kgs and I really enjoy the EVO SL for everything but all out racing. For racing I really like the Pro 4. It is just an excellent shoe. I want to try the EVO 1 or 2 shoes but they are impossible for normal people to acquire and they are extremely expensive.

  10. I think my favourite shoe for the 5k is the Nike vapourfly 3s, but after watching this video I am tempted to get the evo sl since they are at a more affordable price for my training

  11. We're pretty much all Adidas now for many of the reasons you state.

The one small thing lacking in the Adidas line up is something like the Nike Streakflys 2. Very aggressive old skool racing flat feel like the Adios 9s but with a carbon plate and massive forward propulsion.

So they're my go to for 5K and 10K A races. All training runs in Adidas and 10 milers in Pro 4s. Parkrun time trials in the Takumi SEN range.

    Interesting video.

  12. Hi Cole, I reckon you signed up with Adidas at the perfect time. Their current range is fantastic and probably the best they've ever had. Like most other folk, I love the Evo SL and Pro 4. For some reason I can't seem to achieve your level of performance in 'em but I'll keep plugging away! Love the build-up vlogs 🎉

  13. Can you do an updated full day of eating fuelling for a normal or double T day please. I'm sure a lot of us struggle with fueling the work required but not gaining weight

  14. Great video. For me the AP3 is a slightly faster shoe than AP4 at all distances; may be it is my running style, i get more forward propulsion from the firmer shoe – any thoughts on this? AP4 I find comfier though! Also love the Evo SL and Takumi Sen 10.

  15. adios9-evoSL on my rotation. Hopefully picking up the ap4 for a possible marathon next year!

  16. EVO SL is the goat. It’s the only pair of running shoes that I have more than 1 pair of. And the Pro 4’s are my race day shoe and I’ve achieved many PB’s in them. Debating the Boston 13’s though. How do you cope with running in so many carbon plates?

  17. I have the Boston 12. Not a fan, so I use it for my EZ runs (waiting for the Carbon police to come after me on this), as well as my SL2s. My up-tempo sessions have to be my old Pro 3's that are passed their best.
