Justin Rose Swing Breakdown | GolfPass

  1. That is an excellent high quality downline video of Justin Rose's swing. Having said that arm depth in the backswing is an illusion created by an unmoving 2d view. As people like AMG have shown good swinging tour pro like Justin Rose and Rory Mcilroy create the illusion of depth by having big torso and shoulder turn that make it look like the arms are swinging behind the body, but they're really not. As AMG and overhead camera views show the left wrist never travels deeper than a 90* line drawn perpendicular to the shoulder turn, and the right elbow never gets behind the seam coming down the side of the shirt for good ball strikers. Shoulder turn is what creates depth in a backswing of a good golfer while arms maintain width. Bad golfers create depth with arm swing, and lose their width when doing it.
