I travelled to the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) in Oceanside, California to meet with co-founders Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips and what they revealed completely changed how I see my golf swing.

Through a full physical screening process (mobility, stability, strength, and power), plus advanced testing with force plates, they uncovered that despite my swing looking good, I’ve actually been swinging wrong for years. I wasn’t using the ground properly, which meant I was leaving huge amounts of power and efficiency behind.
In this video you’ll see:

✅ The full TPI physical screen
✅ Ground force and power testing
✅ How body limitations affect the swing
✅ The exact areas I need to improve to unlock more distance and efficiency

This was an eye-opening session with two of the world’s best experts in the body-swing connection, and I can’t wait for you to see what we discovered.

  1. Hope you guys enjoyed this as much as we did!? I am working at this in my swing and game. Would you like to see a progress update? Also TPI have been a huge part in our coaching when we first saw them in 2006. Helping us understand the "body swing connection." We wouldn't be where we are without their knowledge and experience so a big thanks to Greg and Dave and the rest of the team. Follow their channel here https://www.youtube.com/@MyTPI

  2. I seek out every TPI video I can find. The way they communicate the golf mechanics are incredible. Great video!

  3. This really is a terrific video. Great job by all involved (and especially Andy for being the “human sacrifice” 😎).

  4. Another fascinating video. This process catches things the naked eye cannot possibly detect.

  5. I was thoroughly impressed with your mobility/flexibility/physical testing so I was shocked when Dr Rose came up with a 23 handicap. I feel like I was missing something. Can you possibly elaborate? I’ve watched quite a few TPI videos and you seemed to perform really well relative to most. You’re obviously smart as heck and able to instantly do whatever was asked of you. Not everybody is that capable.

  6. Driver swing is no more different than a 4 irons swing than a 8 iron swing than a wedge swing. you're just catching the ball later on the path

  7. You can tell you have seen a few of Greg’s videos before. So mention thing from other videos. However it’s cool how there are so many nuggets putting me right, with things I miss interpreted that aren’t in the other videos. This puts the thoughts right, the sequencing bit particularly. It helps build a better picture. Would love to know how / if being a gorilla or gazelle changes the approach.

  8. Incredibly valuable information. Really validates the idea that the body has untapped resources for the everyday golfer to tap with proper practice.

  9. Interesting video. If Andy can work on his swing as suggested, I am sure that he will gain a few mph though I think that he could do that just by hitting the ball a bit harder. His swing is, as was mentioned, a good teaching swing, relaxed, smooth and at 116 mph chs, pretty good for a teaching pro.

Whether he will benefit from a better sequence, "using the ground" more is debatable. Will he be as accurate "jumping"? Will his back and hips stand up to the changes? The "modern", high power swing (particularly playing a fade) seems to cause many back issues at an early age (Zalatoris, Cantlay, Morikawa).

I am sure that he can get to 120 mph quite easily though he may lose accuracy. His ego might like to chase 123/124 but I suggest that that would be dangerous. I speak as someone who chased more power in my 30s and ended up in a steel corset, losing all flexibility and destroying my golf permanently.

  10. Ai created training programmes, how cool is that? I am 68, and this idea so makes sense. This app and the training behind it needs franchising

  11. This was so fascinating. A video with Dr. Rose is always a learning experience. Thank you Andy (and Piers!) for the great content. Looking forward to seeing the follow up in a month or so. 🍻

  12. These TPI videos are such a huge mythbusters moment every video I watch! Almost too much good info

  13. I'm 79 and I'm wondering if this will help me, although my brain shut down half way through the video. I don't think I can lift that medicine ball and my brain certainly won't let me do two things at once. I might start with a gentle squat and see if I can get back up again.

  14. I find everything that comes out of TPI to be incredibly informative, this was definitely that!!

  15. Have been there for training. Not only did those guy improve my ability to treat golfers, they improved my ability to see all patients. They are as legit as it comes.

  16. Great video, so technical but makes perfect sense. (Kinda) – looking forward to seeing the impact of the 30 day challenge. Onwards and Upwards
