Let’s hit another one. Again, felt pretty good. Like out of the middle. Interesting. There’s a ton of chatter about direct to consumer sets. These under $700, $800 iron sets that you can get. Is the quality there? Are they good? We’re going to find out. Today, we’re going to be talking about these, the Vice VG 101. I heard they’re really good. I’ve never hit them. Never seen them. This is the first time. Uh we got a whole bag of goodies here to talk about. So, Vice Golf Balls, irons. Is it any good? Let’s find out. Here we go. We’ll call it like players performance bladyy type iron. They also have a cavity back that’s kind of in the same chassis. Good looking iron. I’ll give you I’ll give it to you straight for an iron like this. It’s a little larger. Um but it’s got really really good lines. nice square leading edge. Um, it’s triple forged in Germany was what I read. Um, and some of the information that Vice gave me, but it’s, you know, it’s it’s a custom custom set of clubs. I went on the website, I built them out. KBS Tour shafts. Uh, you got to pick your grips. But this is the direct to consumer model. This is not for like the gear heads. This is for people that play 15, 20, 25 times a year, maybe even less, and they just want a good solid set of golf clubs at an affordable price. So, like five through pitching wedge, I think I read on the site, if I four through pitching wedge is under $,800 for a full set of clubs. Um, five through pitching wedge was like under $700. So, really quickly, I’m going to show you something else that they sent. They sent wedges. The wedges are actually kind of awesome. Like, that is a nice wedge. They sent me 50 56 and 60 full face grooves. Kind of a high toe, not a lot of offset. It’s a nice looking wedge. I mean, there’s nothing I could say about like, you know, this lobber, for example. It’s got heel relief, toe relief. Kind of looks like a C grind on the back of this thing. It’s nice and heavy. It’s got good head weight. And it’s a nice looking head. I mean, kind of reminds me of Jaws Fullto. So, let me just hit a couple of chip shots first just to see what this ball feels like off the face. Kind of curious. Heard a lot of good things about the golf ball. Oh, it’s spinning. Let me set a couple more. I’m going hit like two or three with this. This is more for me than it is for you guys. Sorry. I just want to get the sense of this how this ball feels off of the face. It’s pretty soft. Let’s hit one more. And I grant I I understand like you’re hitting off a mat and you’re hitting into a screen with a wedge. It’s not the same thing. But what you can get is a little club to ball contact. See how this thing sticks on the face? Feels pretty good. Impressive. I’m really not paying attention to the numbers, guys, because it doesn’t really matter for this for this exercise. This is what we’re trying to find out today. By the end of this video, I want to know, do these clubs feel good? Like, if somebody asked me to pay 800 bucks for a set of these clubs, would I feel good about that? We’re going to answer that. And uh I want to test this golf ball. I just want to see what what how it feels. We got 8 iron. Loft on this 8 iron, I believe, is 36°. So, it’s a little bit on the stronger side. Um standard loft, standard lie, one uh KBS, Tour Light S flex shafts. They kind of limit you with the shafts to be honest. like they don’t you don’t get the full spectrum of shafts on their website when you’re custom ordering. But that’s not the point. That’s the golfer that’s going to Vice Golf to get a set of these golf clubs is not again it’s not a gear head. They’re not getting tours S400s and you know they’re not looking for axioms like it’s not that buyer. This is a completely different human being than my normal follower gear heads. Okay, let’s see. I’m going to hit half shots, guys. I’m sorry. My shoulder is jacked up, but we the show must go on. So, let’s see if see if we can just hit some. Oh, that felt pretty good. Swing didn’t, but the off the face it did. I think it’s right. It’s fine. Wow, that felt pretty good, though. Like off the face, that’s not bad. Like, that’s not bad at all. Let’s hit another one. Again, felt pretty good like out of the middle. Interesting. Wow, these things feel good. Okay. Okay, let’s see what uh And they go they want to get up. Spinning. 7100 for a half swing is pretty good. These things feel pretty damn good. I gotta say, I kind of wanted to like these things are spinning, too. I’m I’m barely swinging at these. Barely. 7580 on a half a swing with an eight iron. Like, these are nice. Let’s hit one more. That was nice. These things are awesome. Okay, I’m impressed. If we’re going to get to the five iron, five iron looks amazing. Like I was going to, you know, I would say as the irons go, like if somebody handed me this iron and said, “Hey, this is the new Titalist uh this is the new Titalist players iron 5 iron.” I’d set it down and go, “Yeah, that’s awesome.” Obviously, you have a lot of mass here behind behind the sweet spot. It does all the things that a modern iron asks for. So, a lot of these companies will go in, I guarantee they’re looking at what all the rest of the companies are doing and they’re kind of cherrypicking all the good stuff that are needed to make a great iron. Vice did that. And it’s a this is a really really nice looking forged iron. I mean, nobody if somebody if if these irons were $1,600 for argument sake, nobody’s bucking at that. No one’s going to go, “That doesn’t look like a $1,600 iron.” It does, and it feels amazing. I’m going to attempt to hit this five iron really quick. Oh god. Let’s see. Actually hit that out of the middle. Like if like these are these are really nice. When I mean nice, I mean like they do all the things that you would want a good iron to do well. Except a putter. I haven’t taken this out yet, but the putter, you get to customize your putter. So, I made this one because I’ve never seen a color like kind of like an Iron Man Tony Stark vibes. Uh I will do another video at some point on the vice putter, but it’s really really cool and they let you kind of ball it out on your own on the site. Here’s the vice thing. Are you going to build a tour set of golf clubs? No. That’s not that’s not the spirit of this of of what they’re doing here. They have quality bags. The bag’s really awesome. The irons are great. Do you have the options that you would if you went to like a a fitting house or somewhere? No, you don’t. But that’s again, that’s not this buyer. But for the price, for this player, this particular player that’s looking for just a full set of golf clubs to go have a good time with, this is all you need. This is literally all you need. And it’s a lot of fun to go on the site and build out your own set. They give you just enough options to make it fun. Make it feel like you’re personalizing the golf set. The golf ball is really cool. I’m going to take it on the golf course. I’ll probably do something more on the golf ball. I’m really curious because that golf ball is very popular. It’s hard to find out if a golf ball is good in here. But as Vice Golf goes, the set, I’m like I’m I’m feeling it. If somebody if one of my buddies called me and said, “Hey, look, I’m looking for a really fun set of golf clubs that I and I don’t want to spend a ton of money.” I’m going to send them to Vice Golf. It’s a no-brainer. They make really really good stuff. I’m impressed. And I haven’t paid a lot of attention to them over the years because I haven’t really had a reason to. But don’t sleep on Vice.
