— A day after knocking out the three-time defending Men’s Masters division champion and 11-time Resorters title winner Jon Empanger in the semifinals, Tom Ryan fell behind to the No. 4 seed Greg Mattson as Mattson earned victories on holes No. 2, 5, and 8 to go 3-up to start Saturday’s championship match at the Alexandria Golf Club.
But Ryan turned it on from then on out. Ryan won holes No. 9, No. 10, and No. 11 to tie the match.
Ryan took the lead with a win on hole No. 15 with a par. Mattson tied the match on hole No. 17 with a par.
Ryan won the Men’s Masters title at the 104th Resorters Tournament with a par on hole No. 18.
This is Ryan’s second Men’s Masters title win, as he won the 2021 Men’s Masters title.
Ryan was the No. 6 seed in this year’s tournament. Ryan defeated 3-time division champion Dan Elton, 3-2, in the first round, then beat Norty Blanchard, 4-3, before beating Empanger and Mattson to win the 2025 Men’s Masters title.
