Hey guys, Mr. Short hitter here. You don’t look like a short hitter to me. I’ve done a lot of golf ball testing really over the last four or five years. I’ve been playing these tricks ears. Right now, I play the divide because I don’t have to worry about anyone picking up my golf ball. That’s a nice ball. However, I was lucky enough that a subscriber sent me some balls that he wanted me to test. And the question that it raises is, does the golf ball really matter? So, to cut right to the chase, one of my subscribers, Tony, sent me some incredibly inexpensive golf balls. So, I decided, why not give them a try? You know, we test the inexpensive, the expensive, and everything in between. Actually, he talked about picking these up somewhere in Michigan. Tony’s in Holland, Michigan. I forgot the name of the the golf course, but they have a huge golf shop and they had a special on these golf balls. And I know they’re very, very inexpensive golf balls. So, all right. Looks like we have some Spalding Pure Spin golf balls. Now, so you guys that have been around for a while know that I reviewed the Spalding SD Tour and the SD Tour X and I was very surprised with the performance of these balls. Spalding is kind of a old school brand and the look of the golf ball, nothing fancy. The letters are kind of bold and I would say it actually has an old school look to it that may need some updating. But again, we’re not going to complain. And this is a super inexpensive golf ball. And let’s see what kind of performance we get. 50 compression. So, how is it going to feel for you guys that are looking at the actual performance? Skip ahead to the data portion. But I’m going to play a few holes with this balding pure spin golf ball before we get to that. All right, guys. So, I think the pin is on the left side of this green over here. So, I’m going to have to move to find the flag. It is 365 with the elevation creek that’s out of range of course. We’ll go driver the firm ground back there. This ball almost got to the creek to the flag 139. So 226 not a bad drive. We got a okay lie here just a little left of the fairway 139 a pin we don’t want to go beyond. So I will hit an eight iron with the firm ground. It’s hard to say whether this ball’s going to end up past the flag. All depends on it bounce. And we’d imagine this ball is a very low spin golf ball. So, we will see what happens here. It’s nice and high, but little left. Couldn’t see that one. I’m not sure where it landed, but I will say we do not want to be back here. Not much you can do to stop it. So with the slope here, we’re 298 yards. So again, the conditions are a little firmer. So if I hit a good drive here, you know, two probably could get one out there close to 240. So if we did that, that’ll leave us 58 yards to that flag. Now, I didn’t really hit that one solid, but it actually felt a little little firmer off the club face than the other one. All right, guys. So, we had 298. Now, with the firm ground, with that quality strike, I probably would expect the golf ball, even with the firm conditions, to go maybe between 210 and 220 maximum. So, let’s see what we have here. 82 yards. So, 216 right in there. What with what we expected into a little wind 50° wedge here. Good shot with this into this wind. The ball should end up a few yards past the flag. It’s a good one. That’s going a little left though. Hit past the flag and kind of bounce and just stayed there. So, looks like about what we would expect. So, the funny thing about Tony sending me this ball is since I reviewed that SD Tour, I kind of wanted to review the Pure Spin. That SD Tour was a really good performing ball for the price definitely. And this even less expensive. We have a big left to right breaker here. This is not a putt you’re going to try to ram in. It’s just a good putt to try to two putt. Nice. Thought I moved left. All right. Well, it’s not the ball’s fault, guys. Life is getting more and more expensive. Now, there’s some ways you can save money. You can get a part-time job. Hi, delivery from Mr. Shoreitter. What a nice dog. Yeah, just need your signature here. Okay, here you go. Okay, thank you very much. All right, thank you. All right, have a good day. Oh, these are clubs I have to review. You could save some money by cutting off those appliances. So guys, I really want to thank you for watching the video or maybe sale man’s best friend. Hey, you want to buy a dog? But I think you should check out this video sponsor, Golf Ball Planet. Golf Ball Planet has been the number one supplier of used golf balls since 1997. They have an excellent 9.6 rating. And I’ve heard nothing but good things since I’ve introduced my viewers to Golf Ball Planet. And you can also save 18% by using my code MSH18. I also put a link in the description. So guys, uh this tree branch has become a real nuisance. I’m 173 from the flag, but tree branch is in the way of my ball flight. So, I’m going to take it left and try to cut it back. If we go straight left, at least we’re not dealing with any water. Really going to try to try to cut this one. [Music] All right. Don’t know where it ended up, but it was cutting. So guys, I could not see where this ball landed. [Music] Guys, I hope you’re enjoying this video. Just want to give you a quick reminder. There’s so many of you that are watching the channel that have not yet subscribed. So, if you’re enjoying the content, please do me a favor and subscribe to the channel. And don’t forget, if you’re looking for used golf balls to check out my sponsor, Golf Ball Planet. It’s getting darker and darker. Get one hole in and we’ll look at the numbers of this golf ball. [Music] That was a cuy. I thought this would just be kind of in the first cut and we’re a good 10 yards into the rough. Can’t blame the ball, but uh I don’t like it. 193. I had 395 there. So, this one went 202. 193 will hit Highwood. As long as I get it past that ridge, this should take a bounce up. If I hit it really good, could get there. [Music] And we told that one. So, it takes a big bounce. It’s going to be short going just a little at the right side of the green. I can’t see the hole, but I can see the flag. should move a little to the left. Not much. [Music] [Music] [Music] So, let’s look at the data of the Spalding Pure Spin. Compared to the Prov1, the launch is about 6° higher, 2300 RPM less spin. One thing I will say there is that it seemed like it wasn’t very consistent to where I had a couple balls that the spin would be really low and I had some other balls where the spin would be as much as the Prov1. I actually took a couple of those balls aside and just hit them and hit them and hit them just to kind of confirm what I was seeing. And what I was seeing was correct. Those balls were a little uh on the low side and again the other ones were on the high side. So quality control is probably not the same as you’re going to expect with the Tilus Prov1. The descent four degrees steeper and the peak height one yard higher. With the seven iron, the ball speed a little over a mile per hour slower. The launch about three degrees higher about,00 RPM less spin. The descent one degree steeper peak height 2 yards higher. Carry the same. And with less spin, the total was a yard further with the 7iron. With the driver, the ball speed was about a mile and a half slower than the Prov1. Launched about one degree higher. The spin 100 RPM difference, the descent two degrees steeper, peak height two yards higher, carry four yards shorter, and total five yards shorter than the Tylus Pro V1. If you’re a beginner just looking for a golf ball to hit around, get you around the golf course and you want to save some money, not a bad ball to go for this Spalding Pure Spin, especially if you can get a deal on it like Tom got. You’re not going to get the same spin. you’re not going to get the consistency of flight. And I will say it’s really hard to tell, but I felt like with the driver, it was kind of all over the place, too. So, how much of that is due to the ball versus how much is it due to how I was swinging? It’s really tough to say. So, if you enjoyed the video, like, comment, subscribe. Until next time, Mr. Short Hitter out. Just play 13.

Tom must've been talking about you as you were finishing up this video, MSH 😅
Try Mizuno RB Max
I'm heading up to Holland in a month. Amazing selection of courses. Thanks for the review!
Have you ever done a review on the Wilson “Profile” golf balls?
Seems okay for us average golfers but maybe not easy to buy here in Thailand.
I think I saw some at the Walmart in Picayune MS. Hmmm, I will look for them next time I go there.
Thanks. "Hit'em straight"
Nice job, thanx
I switched to these when Vice ruined their Drive ball by increasing the compression from 50 to 90. I love these balls. My handicap is usually between 4 and 6, and my swing speed, joint pain, and preference for some release on all my shots make this the perfect ball for my game. Absolutely love it. Always love beating guys who are paying literally 9X as much for their golf balls. It's the player, not the ball.
In my opinion the only honest way to review golf balls is to have no idea what so ever which ball it is. I wish there was a way to get a ball that had no marking on it.
Thanks for the review of the golf balls. I wanted to see how they preformed for a good golfer. I am surprised that that they performed as well as the did for you in your review. I have not noticed the inconsistencies that you noticed but did notice that these balls do not have the distance as other balls.. I originally bought these balls figuring I would lose them quickly since I lose a lot of balls in the trees and water. This year, my golf game has improved and I do not lose many balls. Now I have about 2 dozen left that I have not lost. I am looking forward to losing the remainder of the balls so I can play with a better ball. I got them at Maple Hill Golf in Grandville MI when that had a big sale in the spring.
Yalls course is lookong grest rn!
Sounds very clicky off the putter for a low compression ball.
Spalding should bring back the Dot
Spalding (They no longer exists, another company purchased the naming rights) was a great company based in Chicopee, Massachusetts. They made great clubs and balls. Some of the balls: Spauling Dot, Crow Flight , Air Flight, Molitor, Strata and Top Flite. Callaway purchased the ball facility and their patents. It still operates its ball manufacturing facility in Chicopee, making the Chrome series of golf balls. I have many great memories playing Spalding. Some pros that played Spalding equipment: Al Gieberger, Dave Stockton and Greg Norman.
So you're sayin its like a range ball
I live 20 miles from Holland . It’s funny cause in West Michigan the Dutch (Hollanders) have a reputation for being frugal ( as in tighter than the bark on a tree). So these cheap golf balls may be in the bags of a lot of West Michigan golfers. My favorite golf ball is the Wilson Duo soft since I’m 61 and like the easy compression.
