It looks a little anxious. Does he like it or not? Well, he should. Well, he couldn’t have played that any better. What a start for the world number one. Absolutely gorgeous. Good chance for Eagle at the first. Should hold its line early this and then go right to left halfway this one for Sheffller. What a start. Good morning Scotland. That was just magnificent. An eagle at the 10th. His first hole today for the world number one. This par four 11th from this back te down off the left. Perfect for Scotty. Just hit it up the left. Let it go. Not too far from the center cut. look straight at it. Maybe le a little right at his best. Well, that takes the stress out of it, doesn’t it? Wonderful effort from Sheffler. Greens are never as fast on links courses because of the elements. I’m going to leave them a little bit slower. It’s a long path become a little bit difficult to get the distance right, but that was perfection. There you go. Good shot. Excellent. Using the contours, you’ll notice these courses like the back of their hands. Oh no. Short in the jaws. Missed opportunity for Sheffller. He remains at two under the left side. Should be perfect. Hang on. It’s going to go left again. See? [Applause] [Applause] And after hole one, the attempt of the Eagle, he’s not moved on, but he’s still a couple under behind McNeely. [Applause] Beautifully controlled. wasn’t happy. No, not quite. St. Andrews and Kisti just over the water over there somewhere. [Applause] Open your shoulders and smash it. Really? This one? Yeah. Oh, 175 mph ball speed. And that scuttling as well. That’s ridiculous how far that’s gone. Needs to get a lot of spin, doesn’t he? I think he’s capable of it. It’s got to be a good one, though. This to get close. Touch left. Yeah, perfect shot. Needs a bit more aggression on these, so simple, so effective. I saw a wonderful clip the other day of Johnny Miller describing Jack Nicholas’s swing and then he moved on to Sheffers and he said that little move with his left feet away from he says that just let a little baby cup he used to think of that but only dragging his left foot back at impact started way right Jamie I don’t know with the little shot tracker oh Stay there. Very involving P. No problem at all. She a three under. A big difference there. Just carried the hump at the front. So close to another bird. He would have been a two or three better than he is at the moment. The world number one. It was quite the start, wasn’t it? Laying down a marker for everyone that’s interested in the dreaming two and popped it in for the Eagle to start his Scottish Open for 2025. And this is not troubling that one. It’s find the rough on the right hand side. Yeah, that was overcautious, David, wasn’t it? He’s making sure he went down the right there, but uh looked like it’s nestled in as well, that one, easy. Go get up. Is it going to hold? Is it going to hold? Oh, was it just beginning to move again? Traditional grip for the longer ones. That shape the whole give you a bit more excitement on their journey. That’s a beautiful look at his traditional putting grip there. So far had it on a string. charm. That was exaggerated, wasn’t it? With the footwork and body work and everything. But look at that. Right down the middle of the fairway. He’s like his golf swing is is filled with character, isn’t it? I mean, it’s quite remarkable. stands to attention. Well, doesn’t matter what line you pick if you don’t reach the hole. And a bit of a misread as well. So, as Jamie said, just not a clear picture to putt to there perhaps for Sheffller. As you say, David, into this wind. I doubt it. Just take a bit off it for Sheffller. Hit a little bit of a cut. He’s hitted at it. Is it cutting? It’s not cutting. Yeah. Well, as Jamie said then, so Bunker out of play for all but the very longest. Looks like he’s taking dead aim. Oh, that’s got to go. Great swing. Wow. It’s a pretty flat just over the hill first. And it favor the left hand side. Just feed off the left a little bit all the way. See a bit more energy in the stroke on this one. He pours them in beautifully, constant ease, just lovely stroke, lovely speed, lovely line. Yeah. Straight out the bunker. Will it reach? Chasing it just short. Run it in. Lovely strike. Just a beautiful shot. [Applause] Super P. Absolutely stone dead. Wonderful strike. Ball rolling beautifully off of the blade. This one reminded me of crown bowling the other way. That ball rolled up and just got the right bias on it. Nestled beside the jack. Gorgeous [Applause] wind is in off the left. I think he’s missed the fairway. Right over here. Oh, and look sitting up. like a coconut. [Applause] Just a wedge. It’s a lively first bounce. It’s misjudged, has to be said. Not easy, of course, but little links land taking care of Sheffler there. He’s going to pitch a 10 on minute release. [Applause] This one a bogey for number one in the world. Jefflet. I think he’s all right, Sam. I can’t quite see over there. It’s a long hole today. 347, but into this wind and it’s freshening. It’s only 280 to the wall, which is about where they’re going to end up. Just under it there. Just over the bank there. Good drive. Oh, he’s playing the Scottish one. There you go. Just outside the hole. Normal service should be resumed. What? [Applause] That was lovely. Not that happy. [Applause] You’ll get the hang of it. Don’t worry about it. This is a toughy. Doesn’t like that one either. And the golfing gods always get always give you the miss a short one, they give you the exact same put on the next one. Well, two shots gone in three holes for the pre-ournament favorite and world number one. He’s back to two under saw that coming. Yeah, he’s hit a couple of monsters today, hasn’t he? Couple approaching 360 yards. So, that one has carried 314 yards. Probably run about 50 as well at least. Well, the eyes are going up and down. Normally a good sign. Yeah, lovely stuff from Sheffllock. Dribble it right edge. Ah, well done number one. Good birdie. Plenty of room left. Jimmy bit just a bit bit confused that we’re back into the wind now. Yeah, back into the wind in off the right. [Applause] That’s excellent. A lot of players have been a lot of people have been saying whether he can play in the wind. Don’t you worry about the wind. He can seriously plan the wind. But just I’ve only been out here a few minutes, but I’ve been told by Jamie Spence a lot of shots are coming up shy. He’ll be happy to finish on the score he’s at right now today. It’s a tough finish here. Yeah, nicely done. I mean the greens as Ken said in in immaculate condition but got three different grasses on the greens just adds to the difficulty a little bit. That’ll be an interesting little chip. Oh boy, it’s going to be a bunker shot now. I think I think that makes it a little easier actually possibly. Nice lie. Lovely sand from finishing here. He can fly all the way or just sort of skid it off the front end of the green. She goes into the breeze. Lands softly. Don’t tell me. Don’t tell me. Oh, talk about all these elements of the game, but it’s game around the green is as good as I’ve seen. It’s fantastic. Beautiful shot. Yeah, a classy round. Opened up with an eagle at the 10th hole. His first and round a very tidy 69 67, sorry. Lovely. That’s from 168 for Sheffler. Rare cube maybe trying to catch that bank on the back left hand corner. Maybe thinking that’s probably the best place to get the ball within 20 ft. But chef up the bank down the other side. Good and goody. Oh, what a wonderful effort. Unusual to see someone take the flag out from that sort of range when you’re off the green. Teeing it high. Hope it’s going to fly straight. That one. Well, 161. This could be a wedge. Same deal as McIntyre. Getting to the back of the ball shouldn’t be a problem. It’s just a matter of how much release you can get on it. Just rolled far enough on the green not to have to worry about the little ridge getting in his way. With the wind out here, birdies aren’t as easy to make out here if they as they were this morning. [Applause] today. Yesterday it was much easier. The wind is the opposite direction. That’s going to be a long way back. Little bit of hurt into into his face. So often gets pin high. Scotty’s playing it more conventionally. Business as usual. [Applause] Bang on 100 and release it out to it down a hill. It needs to land it on a pimple on a dime. Like right there. Pretty good. Green’s not looking quite so iridescent green. One or two sort of areas that look like a drying out a fraction on the high spots. came out with a soft flight and it pitched on the little brow of the hill there and took some of the steam out of it. This is so very difficult as it comes over the brow. Great touch. Spectacular. [Applause] Wonderful pitch as you said, Ken to get it to here. So easy. How many birdies today, Andrew? I love doing that to you. 16. Whoops. It’s actually playing under par which I think considering the degree of difficulty. Just off the front of the green here at six. Watch and see if it bobbles. It does not, but he needed it to. Yeah, they just don’t want to hit it, but it’s just lurking. [Applause] What a lovely sound. I can see you Beamer doing a few pirouetses. Only after a night out with you, buddy. Better you than me because most of the time we don’t really remember anything. It It’s funny. I can’t imagine some of the great competitors of years gone by encouraging them, you know, their their main adversaries to to try a different club to help themselves. Serious camber from left to right and these fairways are baking at straight down wind. So he needs to be precise with his long iron. Long way back bat, but fine. Short stuff always good. Strong wind at his back right now. That’s sensational. I mean, he laid back so far, 196 yards, and hit one of the better shots we’ve seen all day in that back hole location. That’s that’s what makes him the world’s best. She with a a lovely approach. And no mistake, Sheper begins to make a move. A lot of wind at his back. You got to be thinking this is a seven iron. Good flag to get at. Quite deep pots, but fortunately the pins on the opposite side of the green to the bunker. So we’ll see his wonderful bunker prowess in a minute. Pretty good. everything but seeing a bit of everything out there today too. Seen eagles and birdies and we’ve seen drop shots as well. Of course that ask some difficult questions. Of course that demands some respect. Doesn’t often have an inquest does he? He normally just moves straight on whatever happened. I know he was a He thought it was going to turn into the hole, but you want to It’s a familiar side to miss for Scotty Sheffller. When he does miss it is down the left wing on how this is going to come out. Must have a half decent line to be thumping it with a wood. Oh my god, that’s going to have some run on it. What a difference a day makes. Hasn’t really gone to plan for Sheffller, but still it is a birdie putt by name on the par five. Oh dear. As promised, Sheffller for the par at 10. Seen so many missed on that left hand side from there. It’s the green that does slope from right to left, but in the middle there’s a ridge and it’s Phil Sheffller. Hasn’t been as strong this week so far, but it’s a part of his game that’s starting to catch up with the rest of it, which is slightly scary for everyone else. Top 15 putter on the PGA Tour this season. completely different visual watching the ball come towards you. Something you as a player you never see. Groovy nine. Might see this come back just a couple of feet maybe. If you haven’t noticed, this guy’s pretty good at this shot. Once again, he manages to get the distance right. Certainly has got some break on it. Gave it a good foot, foot foot and a half, but not enough. Exceptional. I like Sheffler stroke for sure. It’s an unusual grip and it works well. He’s been good with the blade for 18 months now. That’s the 11th putt he’s missed inside of 10 ft so far this week though. 152nd of the 155 in the field in that category. It’s funny this hole. If it’s down breeze, a strong breeze, you can drive it. Yeah, it’s the beauty of Links Golf, isn’t it? With the chase and the ball as well. downwind. It’s an eye and gives you a flick in. You’re thinking three every time. Back into the breeze. You would think using the camber from right to left up there. Trying to anyway. And I can tell you Nicholas Kouls holein ones in professional golf don’t count unless you win something. It’s kind of right to left and then it goes over the top of another little mound. So it’s up and down day all this. It’s pretty fast. Up now and down now. He was due. He might have struggled from short range, but ra the long one in to get the show back on the road. That’s better from Shefflet. Yeah, quite a few. I expect one of these at least to make themselves a two right here. [Applause] So, left to right, down, and then it wants to straighten maybe come back from right to left. [Applause] It’s got to What’s he going in here if he hits the fairway with? It’s got to be a six iron today. Very exposed this part of the the layout. Horrible. Pretty well done. I feel a little sorry for the next person that finishes in it. Sheffller just outside the hole and that one catches just enough of the right edge. Perfect pace. The fairways are like a like a hard tiled floor. Those bunkers. Oh, jammy. You don’t get to world number one by catching a whole lot of bad breaks. Stop it. Stop it. I’m sorry. You know better. You know the War would have been proud of that one. Off the little ups slope. Yeah, playing it through the air and trying to land it a little short. Relying on a lucky bounce, I think. Here it comes as a contours. Work the ball to the hole from there. Well, a little bit of right to left down the hill. Good opportunity pretty quick. I can tell you as well, no clouds in the sky, Kenny Brown. The old Scots are like are starting to get a little glow on. It’s not a lot of sunscreen sold up in this neck of the woods. Uh tend to be lightly lightly used. 196. The wind has died. I think we might see one of these guys make a two here today. Whip this miles in the air. Ping off the down slope. That’s three inches outside his back foot and wandered on a little bit. Oh, very well played. [Applause] We got a good close-up look at Delay there. Wonderful invention from Shefflla. Yeah, it has died just enough. You can’t reach that wall. That’s nutted as well. That’ll run like a like a rabbit. McIntyre star quality. The same as Sheffer. And the Bulls even come into the gap in the wall. [Applause] All three certainly aboard at the last McIntyre’s weight’s going to be a little longer. [Applause] showing McIntyre the way. Go out to the fourth. Roll number one. Just has a nice little chuckle and drivable par four fifth. Scotty Sheffler leaving in a tough spot right there. kind of has to try and work something around that greenside bunker. He did not make that putt back at the fifth. Lucky all pars and a lone bogey there at the fourth. That’s more like it. But he’s got to convert. He’s got to make that one kind of get something going in the right direction. She shuffler. Now that you could see right away that was a very short back swing and almost just a shove forward at the seventh now. Back of the green chef for the birdie. [Applause] Wow, that was not easy to get the pace. [Applause] Chance for Sheffller. And this time he manages to find the target. Awkward little chip over the back there again for Scotty Sheffler. Fortunately, he’s pretty handy with them. Frustrating three days so far, you’d say, for Sheffler and it goes. And yeah, you’re right, Ken. He’s just sort of plotting around in sort of second gear at the minute. 47 top fives in his last 86 starts. Sheriff here they put at the first which Julie finds pin in a bit of a valley today on this opening green feeds back to it from behind then down to it from in front. So birdie at the first for Shefflet and a fair way to be found at the second. Look how wide his stance is even with his wedges. Just a great setup. Great base. That’s the way you do it right there. Roll number one. Going to save his part to second. It’s a good test. Well, now I stand corrected. I had given him that putt already. They’re just they’re not gimmies as we saw earlier at the second by this man Scottish Shelter second into the par five. Little back into the breeze. There’s three. All depends on the lie right here for Sheffller. Looks like it might have been sitting down, so he had to go ahead and hoist that one up. working its way around off the shoulder of that bunker down in the valley just shy of the fourth. It’s a tough little hole location there. Well, this should be helping off the tea today. Well within reach for the top players. That’s it. Sit. Oh, sit. Oh, a good chance for a bird here for Sheffield. But this is an eagle put up first. back up the slope and oh, Scotty Sheffler. All of a sudden, he makes himself known. Just the one birdie for Shepher, but he’s added an eagle to that. He’s close to within three. May not be finished with this championship yet. Well, after the eagle on five. Can we get another two here at six? Get there, Scotty. Oh, it never looked like it was going to get there. Should be a formality for Sheffller. Hanging around, waiting maybe to slip it up a gear. Lovely drive from Sheffller. Fourth of Soul, seventh today. A beautiful sound of link stuff. [Applause] Downwind. Goodness me. Downwind’s got to be up the left hand side. This is leaking towards the bunkers. If he’s not caught it, he won’t carry. Oh, lucky lucky boy. That’s probably how he got to world number one. Nothing to do with the skill, I’d imagine, Andrew. Hands are so quiet through the impact area with the wedge. It’s a little wonder his distance control is is good as it is. And with the clientele in front, he does need to start finding some. Long games looks pretty much the usual Shefflin. Maybe not quite full tilt, but certainly on the greens, it’s been a really cold week on the greens. He’s still got a chance here. He doesn’t want to be careless. Is it eight three back trying to work it in from left to right playing 188 yds a very commercial well struck shot for Scotty leaders now at 12 under Sheffler at eight he’s on the ninth oh goodness he’s had a whole few hole burners this week that he can’t believe par five 10th Eagle his opening hole this week it wind yeah nice forward bounce you’re unsighted to the green from there because there’s a big hump in your way but a little quickly I don’t think it’s going to be any issue here for Scotty sometimes coming off a tight line is weird Bird things can happen. Now just watch where this finishes. Bang on lines. I’m 12 yds short of the top drawer right there. Scotty Sheffler now at the 10th finding the green and two. Can he find another eagle? That’s a grand effort. Two excellent shots to find 10. He takes the step closer. Took all the stress out of that. Not such good news for Shefflin. Poor T-shot at 11. Back in play. Needs to get down and two for a park. And he just mate now the splendid workshop Shefflin out for the par at the 11th. Can’t afford any backward moves from his position. That’s what it’s going to be. Think out of the people that have made the cut. She’s about the last on the greens from the 10 foot range. Quality of golf being played even by some of the more unfamiliar faces out there in the world. of golf chef down over there on the left hand side here at 12. Need to start finding some birdies. [Music] Yep. Missed the divots and good angle to that flag. Oh, it’s trickling back. Start. He’s found his footing. Got her up. Sounded good. Using the contours. There she comes. Here she comes. Oh, you little devil. Golf’s not like that though. Definitely like he’s like a St. Bernard on a merrygo round doesn’t quite know what’s going on. If you can’t hold them from short range, hold them from the tea. 168 yds. Really good spot on line. It’s another birdie park. Can he find one? Can’t read them. Hasn’t been able to read them here. Seeing things that aren’t there. for Bwin 2011. Been tucked on the left just a little bit here. Is it all the way back there? What’s he going to bring for us here? More frustrations. No, this time the whole grabs on. One hand comes flying off. As long as it takes a decent kick. And yeah, there’s nothing wrong with that. That’s going to just keep running and running and running. And then you hope have to land the ball short of the green and then ping. Yeah, you got to it’s like trying to run it through the neck of a bottle, isn’t it? You go left, it goes left. You go slightly right if it spins it off. Sheffller from way beyond the 16th green with a good angle. However, [Music] not sure if I didn’t make his eagle on 16. He’s uh he’s looking forward to getting out of dodge. I wonder if his confidence any good though in the Greens next week. And I know it’ll be slightly different again in Port Rush. two yards up. That’s ill. Nearly as far right as we saw Victor Havlin a little while ago make five from Chef. Can he make one? Yes, at last. Missed so many chances inside 8 ft this week. It’s been remarkable considering he normally taps him in with the plum. Safe [Applause] up the little tear for Sheffller. Finish in the top [Applause]

Congratulations Scottie on this superb victory at The Open
These commentators are dreadfully boring.
Why aren't all the tournament shots included?
Editors got lazy on Day 3 huh?
