How to Hit the Ball Farther Without Trying So Hard!

If you’re trying to hit the ball harder to gain more distance, you’re actually making it harder for yourself. The secret to effortless speed and serious driver distance, it’s not about hitting at the ball. It’s about swinging through it. In this video, we’ll show you how a simple shift and feel can unlock the kind of power you thought was long gone. That’s what’s coming up in this video. So, here we are. The classic Pinehurst number two course in the Carolinas. An uphill challenging drive. Narrow treelined bunker to the left. Perfect recipe for the temptation to try and hit the golf ball hard. Got to hit it a long way. I’ve got to get it up that heel. I’ve got to outd drive my playing partners who’ve already hit good shots. The tension starts to build. I start to grip tight. My shoulders start to come up around my ears. All with the intent to give this full power. real tight. And there we have it. The big top shot. Everything contracted, everything tightening up. Feel the the tension in me, trying to gain the club head speed that I’m requiring to hit that golf ball a long way. Yet, of course, I’ve gone about it in completely the wrong fashion. So, fortunately enough, one of my aforementioned playing partners who’s hit the ball nicely up the middle is an easier swing follower. And I’m now going to basically copy what that guy’s done. So, the complete opposite. Focusing on a very, very light hold, focusing on my breathing, keeping things as relaxed as possible, flowing and smooth, ridding myself of any tension in there, relaxing every single part of my body, feeling the club, following the club, allowing the swing and no hit in there at all. Swing this club head. Nice strike nicely down the middle there. The swing caddy and its influence over us there and encouraging my swing to flow effortlessly and click on the way through. and put that extra forward speed, that extra impetus into that. Okay. So, now that’s a nice way to sort of really wind your friends up. That’s now up to 270 in the middle of the fairway. I’d like to think that’s still portraying effortless effort. Nice and efficient outdriv even more. Keeping things relaxed.
