Chris, many, many congratulations. I can see the emotions are high. Your first Rolex Series title comes here in the home of golf in a stacked field. Our Genesis Scottish Open champion. How How are you feeling right now? Amazing. Um, yeah, I mean, I’m just it’s all hitting me. Um, it’s just so cool. Um, I played really well this week and I knew today was going to be tough and I hung in there like a champ and finished it off in style. You certainly did hang in there. You had a two-shot lead coming into an incredibly tough finishing stretch here at the Renaissance Club with one of the best to ever play this game breathing down your neck. How were your nerves? How were you handling that moment? How did you do that? I mean after I mean I felt pretty good shockingly on the first T today. I felt comfortable and I knew I was playing well this week and I was I felt like I was ready for the challenge and um yeah, I mean like I said yesterday, that’s that’s why I practiced and that’s why I play and to play against the best and um it was a pleasure to be out there with him and obviously all the support that he gets is amazing, but it was nice to kind of ruin that a little bit. We know how tough it is to win out here this field. We mentioned the best in the world turned up. What’s behind this emotion? what’s what’s coming out in in these tears right now that’s allowed you to to get it across the line today. Yeah, thanks for trying to get me to cry again, but um I mean it’s just so much hard work. Um so much up and down in this game. Um, I mean, end of last year, my hand was bothering me and I really didn’t know what was coming next and I’ve really been in good form here lately and I just know everyone at home is watching and um, and I just can’t wait to go celebrate with them. Well, before you do that, you you’ve got yourself a ticket to Royal Port Rush. The Open Championship waits. What confidence do you take forward to both uh, Northern Ireland and the rest of the season? I mean, I was a one-time champ, a two-time champ sounds a lot better on tour. And um yeah, I mean, I know what I’m capable of, and I know when I feel the way I did today, I can I can beat the best and um it’s just awesome to get it done, and I’m excited for the rest of the season. It’s a huge win. Many, many congratulations. Thank you. Appreciate it. It’s amazing. A David and Goliath story. And once again, David is the victor. Maybe didn’t expect it, but having watched it, it was more than believable. A valid and very deserving champion. Fabulous. Absolutely fabulous. Rich alongside me. You know what? As often as it as it’s quite nice to tell stories um about some of the favorites of players like Rory Mroy winning again and they’ve come to see the Grand Slam man do it here in Scotland again. Those stories are nice too, aren’t they? Seeing someone like Chris Garup go ahead and beat the guy he wasn’t supposed to. Exactly. And you’re talking about a guy that’s just freshly out of college. as well as 25 years old, won an opposite field event uh last year and came out this year and and continue with his good play. I I loved what he was doing. He he had some really solid finishes, but never quite broke into the top 10. Never kind of pushed forward. But this week, there was something about yesterday, we chatted with him at the end of his round. He just had this air of confidence about him. It was it was fun. It was refreshing. He didn’t seem like he was going to be uh at all too nervous or overwhelmed by the situation being in the final group, especially alongside Roy Moy, I thought he handled everything this afternoon brilliantly. The back nine, he was he was fairly flawless uh with the exception of the second shot on 15. It was it was it was really fun to watch. Just before we just before we look at how how he put it together as an American coming over here, and of course there’s a lot of them this week, some of the best players of the PGA Tour. Chris is one of those guys who got that opportunity. What does it mean when you come over here as Americans, but but not just get to play this form of golf, which to us is just what we do. This is these are our aisles. But to you, what what would it mean to someone like Chris as an American to come and having been victorious at a place like this in Lynx golf? Well, I hope he he grows to recognize that it’s going to mean a lot more to the fans and everybody around because he’s actually said, listen, I he’s proven to himself that he can play on Scottish Lynx golf and he can win out here. It’s not just coming over competing. he can win and he won in style. Beat the best, one of the best in the game.

  1. If I'm honest I'm glad Rory or any of the European players didn't win it today as I hope they will take the big one next week at Portrush.

  2. Well done Chris, you definitely deserved it. As for Rory he’s a real choker, and surely must be the worst ever player to complete the Grand Slam. His first four Major wins happened quickly and most were without Tiger Woods in the field.

  3. Seems like a decent guy. This win is life changing for him, opening many doors. Good luck mate!

  4. Rory is a clown, crybaby, hypocrite and a cheater. Stop promoting the most hated golfer in history

  5. Gotterup should have told the media to kiss his rear end because they only showed highlights of Rory Mcilroy all the way up till the end of the tournament.
