The PGA TOUR returns to Tahoe Mountain Club in California this week for the Barracuda Championship with plenty of up-and-coming talent alongside established names teeing it up. One of the most notable being Max Homa who returns to Truckee for the first time since 2017 after a T5 finish in his last start at the John Deere Classic as he looks to improve his standing in the FedExCup. Defending champion Nick Dunlap became the first player to win as both an amateur and professional in the same season last year. There’s plenty on the line for Adam Hadwin this week, who finds himself at No. 129 in the FedExCup standings. Former champions teeing up this week include Erik van Rooyen, Chez Reavie and Andrew Putnam.

Bo Hustler, Gary went out early and really made a big push. This birdie put it the last. Yeah, he kind of showed what was out there on offer today. Look at this. Right in the middle. 17 points for the day. Jumped all the way up to second place. So, but everybody came into the day chasing this man. Ryan Gerard, the 25-year-old American, chipped in for birdie at the last yesterday and he is cooking with fire early. birdie put there to 36 points and then Gary in this modified stable for scoring. These are the big ones plus five for the Eagles. This is where he grabbed the championship by the scruff of its neck right here. Seven points after three holes. He did drop one at the fourth. So 40 points right now for Gerard. He’s your leader. The South African Jacques Chrywig at the ninth. A slam dunk. Well, NBA season is about to get underway again. And then look at his reaction. Always drama on championship Sunday. We’ll see what Gerard has coming up this 16. Todd Clemens. Another birdie for the Englishman. He went on a stretch of four birdies and five holes. Didn’t birdie the par five now at 617. Clemens. Oh no. Just dug it a little bit quick. It’s going to get fairly close. Basically do that with your eyes closed. At least get it within five six feet. Oh, easy. We have a new leader, Todd Clemens. A birdie at the 17th. Could get a little more interesting if it goes. Gerard for birdie in the lead. Bingo. There you go. There you go. And it’s just one of those, you know, someone who’s almost destined to win. You just they find ways to to do things at the right time. At the 15th, Max Home in the Greenside bunker. Well, had that in really good round yesterday. You thought it was going to springboard into something special today and it’s been a real struggle for Max, unfortunately. All right, there we go. And you know, maybe you find a way to, you know, Hustler to 29 points. You thought that was good. Par 31 12th been playing easy today. Very accessible hole location. locating the front portion of the green and Hustler to inside three feet. I give him a half win this year for being the best player not named Sheffller at at the Byron Nelson. This just left of it and looking good now. Yeah, beautifully stopped quickly too. Back into that slight breeze. Yeah, breaking to his right just outside the hole. Yeah, maybe this could be the starter. Something special on the 10th. Birdie putt on the way. Gerard. Take this little putt as it comes down the hill. Gerard lighting it up. Catapult you up these leaderboards. You just got to keep your foot on the gas and try to play aggressively, especially on these par fives. Lato Griffin’s third. Oh, this is straight up in the air. Wow. You got to be kidding me. What a play there by Rico Hoey. That would have been a great shot out of the fairway, Billy Ray. It’s one of the best shots I’ve seen all week. That approach shot here at 10 from Hoey out of that awkward lie. That’s going to go a little right at the end here. How he filling it up there. Oh, nice. Really nicely done. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. There you go. That’s the place to miss it. Miss it long, shortsided, and just roll it in. What a chip. What a four. And what a moment. We just saw the Ryan Gerard chip in off the back of 18. That was the last of the highlights package until this one. Beautiful T- shot. Got the soft bounce. It should have been much closer than this, but it doesn’t matter when you put it like that. Finally making a little bit of progress here. Back to back birdies for David Lipsky after there you go. That putter is not grounded. Looks great. Looks great. Oh, is great. Is that the championship with that stroke right there? What a break that was to get the drop to take advantage and now stretches that lead. You think the and that gives him plenty of breathing room. Well, looking for my first PGA2 and I’ll just throw a couple of eagles at you in the last round with a chance to win. Look at this. Dead center. 16 now. Now, Chryswick, this is a big moment for him. Last roll of the dice for the South African. No, it’s not over yet. going to stun it into that front fringe. UG tour rookie Jackson Suber steps it in at a 17. Some valuable FedEx Cup points for Suber. Gerard ready to rock. What a timely drive that was when he’s just made two bogeies. Now that ball on the way from 152. Yeah. And settled right back in. And what a great golf shot. Continuing to get better. It’s going to be a quick little putt, but only from maybe five, six feet. George, he could erase those two bogeies minus two points in a hurry. One birdie make would get those two points back. Maybe he watched the open championship this morning, gets a little bit of inspiration from the greatest player in the world today. And he does. And Gerard, I think he’s just turned the key. to give Gerard something to think about. And it’s there. Van Royan five points up to 42. Six behind the leader Gerard. Wow. [Music] Got to go. Got to go. Got to go. And it does. What a valiant effort by the 2021 Barracuda champ. Eagles 15, birdies 18. Seven points the last four holes. Little left of the flag stick. Solid strike up the left hand side. Should find the putting surface on that front third of the green. What you dream about all those hours practicing Gerard two putts from here to get his first win on the PGA Tour. Gerard has his breakthrough at the Barracuda. Ladies and gentlemen, that concludes our tournament Barracuda Championship. Request that you first win on the PGA Tour coming in Truckucky, California. 47 points for the week. Two Eagles in the final round. Grammy wins by three. Thanks for watching the PJ Tour on YouTube.
