Keith, you’ve won the Rainwood Legends Championship. How does that feel? Yeah, fantastic. Um, really did come with a mission again to win this week. Um, I didn’t have a good week in America and I and I really, you know, I’ve been here before and I played here in the proam and I really realized the course suited me. So, I just, you know, I stuck to my guns and had a mission and I’m really chuffed to come out winner in the end. Simon Griffith had a tough start today. You found yourself in the lead pretty early. How aware were you of how it was playing out? Yeah, you know, I had um I was leading uh last event in in Ireland in the last day and um I caught I got caught up too much watching the guys I was playing with and you know and James came through at the end. Um so I was very wary of not even though Simon got off to a bad start, you know, thinking he was the guy going to be I had to beat today. When he got off to a bad start, I certainly didn’t take my foot off the pedal because I had no idea what everybody was doing behind me. And is the kind of golf course if you do get going, you can go quite low. So, um, you know, I just I stuck to my guns. I had a I had a goal to get to 14 under and I just try to focus on that. What were the key moments and shots for you today? Um, I, you know, really I just drove the ball well the whole week and today I continue to drive the ball well. I just was never in trouble. And, um, you know, the greens were relatively receptive. So, when you’re going in with short irons to the greens the whole time, you have to make mistakes to make bogeies. And there are, you know, some poor mistakes to make bogeies. And there the par fives were all reachable for me. So I just waited. I stayed patient. Tried to pick up some birdies when I could and then take advantage of the par fives. What was going through your mind on 18 when you walked up and saw your ball in the fairway bunker there? Yeah, so I hadn’t hit a fairway bunker all week and the bunkers are so soft and everybody’s telling me how difficult it is to hit it out of the bunker and I had to hit it a full carry over water to the green. Uh and um I I actually didn’t know what what position I was in. I hadn’t looked at the leaderboards. I I I presumed I was leading but I didn’t know if it was by one, two, or three or whatever the scenario was. And um I asked and somebody said I was leading by two. There’s just no ways I was going for the green from even though it was relatively straightforward. I you know it was only a nine eye and there was no chance I was going for the green from there. Just finally, have you got a message for anyone back home? Yeah, for everybody back home. All my supporters, my family, they’ve been amazing. Um and um yeah, their support is invaluable and uh it means a lot to me and it certainly inspires me.
