Guys, what if I told you I could fix your slice in less than three shots? Yes, I’m not kidding. With just some simple adjustments at setup, you don’t even need to change anything in your golf swing. We’re going to eradicate your slice or we’re at least going to calm it down with simple changes. Less than five balls. Just give me less than five balls. And if you reduce your slice, you need to subscribe to the channel because this is going to help a lot of new slicers. [Music] So let’s very quickly talk about what causes a slice. A slice is caused when the face club face is open to the swing path. The bigger the gap between the path of the club and the face of the club, the more curve you’re going to get. Add to that some speeds, which obviously is ultimately what we’re trying to do with driver. That can be a recipe for quite a lot of curve and also quite a lot of disappointment. Hence why we hear so many golfers, I’m just going to take it easy. I’m going to swing smooth. And yes, you might hit the ball straighter, but you’re going to give up distance. So, let’s not do that. Let’s fix it the proper way. So, in most cases, what we need to do first is close the club face. Normally, as soon as we start to close the club face, we’re much less likely to start swinging out to in. So, we need to close the face. Let’s fix that slice immediately. So, what I want you to do, guys, I want you to take your hands off the golf club for a moment and hold your arms out just in front of you. We’ve got plenty of range of motion in both arms, but generally speaking, if we move them to the left towards a target and hold the club, so that being a weaker left hand or the arm twisting to the left or a weaker right hand or the right arm setting more on top, you’re now in a position where you don’t have a lot of range of motion to twist to the left, which closes the face. But we’ve got a lot more range of motion to make a a move that opens the face. And that’s what you can see here on the video. That is going to cause a lot of big slices. That will cause an open stance where you’re going to swing more across the ball. We start to close the face and the path with the same movement. So, what I want you to do, back out, hands in front of you, and we are going to twist our arms to the right. Okay? We’re going to go as far as we can and see how far we can twist those to the right first. Then we’re just going to ease it back a little bit. So the thumbs point up and to the right. And what we’re going to find is the left arm is going to be more twisted inwards. So from my angle, that’s more at like 2:00 if we’re going by a clock face. Right arm 2:00. Okay. If we can get our arms and our hands on the golf club in this position, we are much less likely to slice it. And I think genuinely think you’ll stop slicing this very very quickly. You might even see some left shots. So we twist thumbs to 2:00. That is how we want the arms on sitting on the golf club. We want the left hand, we want the club to sit in the base of the fingers. The hand is wrapped round. We’ve got the arm in the same position. We’ve got a grip sitting in the fingers, not in the palm. That could be quite dangerous. So in the fingers, we get the thumb. We point the right hand to 2:00. We bring this down. So the bicep faces forward in the fingers pad on top of the thumb. We are now in a position where, and you probably 99% of golfers here will really feel that their arms are twisted to the left. But now, now’s the magic piece. Now, you’ve got so much more range of motion to twist to the left and have club face closing moves, which is what you need. You’re really going to see a lot less slices here. So, again, we’re going to go hands out in front, thumbs to 2:00 down. That’s how we want the arms to sit. Now we’re going to go in the fingers of the left hand, fingers of the right hand. Hands are in the same position here. Arms are in the same position as what we just did. And from there, so much more likely to close that club face. So you need to do this if you slice it. It will honestly make such a big difference. So the reason why it changes the path, obviously we’ve explained why it changes the face, and that’s your most important thing. If we get the face even square to the path, if you’re swinging slightly out to in, that’s why I said you might pull a couple just to begin with. You might just hit some straight left. The ball speed will go flying up. You’ll hit the ball further. The curve will start to disappear very quickly because you now don’t have the face open, but it will start to help the path because when the arms are twisted to the left too much or the grips too weak, the right arm sits on top of the left arm. You guys will probably see underneath my left forearm. And now we’re in a position where the upper body, so the rib cage, the forearms, and the shoulders are to the left. And what that does is that encourages a more out to in swing, a more left swing, as well as an open face. So we get a two for one mixture that we don’t want. And we can see that it’s going low and it’s really starting to slice. So we can eradicate that so quickly. Hands out in front, thumbs to 2:00. That’s how the arm should sit on. We should see more of the top of the forearm. The left elbow points to the target. The right bicep faces the camera or faces in front of you. And we want a slightly stronger grip as opposed to a really weak grip. So, a weak grip would be when the hands are too far around to the left. We don’t want that. We also don’t want it in the palm. Stronger grip would be thumb is on the right side of center and this Vshape points towards your right shoulder. and you see these two knuckles. A weaker right hand would be when the palm is more on top, which could definitely encourage that club face to open. A stronger grip would be the palm more on the side of the grip, which again is optimal. That’s what we’re after if we’re looking to close the face and eradicate that slice. That is how we want to hold that golf club. Also, please make sure that you smash that big red subscribe button. It is great for the channel. Takes two seconds to do. And it also makes sure that you get plenty of help with your golf with all the videos that come out every week. So, there we have it. Some really simple things I genuinely do think most golfers will get rid of their slice, get more ball speed, less curve, and less than 10 balls. So, if we can get that position of the arms, the stronger grip, we can start to close the face, the big dog is really going to start to behave next time you go out on the golf course.
