PING i240 Irons – Will They Lower My Scores? The Ultimate On-Course Test! Are the PING i240 irons the game-changer you’ve been waiting for? In this real on-course test, I take the new Ping i240 irons through 9 holes to find out if they truly help lower scores.
With claims of tighter dispersion, higher launch, added forgiveness, and that classic Ping feel, the i240s promise the ultimate blend of tour-inspired looks and game-improvement performance. I’ll test everything from the long irons to the wedges, and even throw in the Ping iDI driving iron for good measure.
You’ll see:
* On-course performance test of the Ping i240 irons
* Shot shaping, trajectory, and feel feedback
* Forgiveness vs precision: Do these irons balance both?
* How the i240 blends with the Ping iDI driving iron
* Whether these clubs can help lower your score
Whether you’re a mid-handicap golfer seeking more consistency or a better player looking for modern forgiveness in a clean-looking head, this i240 review breaks it all down with real golf shots on the course, not just a launch monitor session.

today I’m going to put the brand new Ping I240s
to the ultimate test i’m out here taking them onto the golf course in an evening trying to
create a real score will these irons help me shoot a lower score ping and claiming these
are tour inspired irons with extra forgiveness higher launch softer feel this all sounds great
but actually are they going to deliver i also have a bonus club at the end that blends in with
these irons which can’t wait to also hit if you like today’s encourse review hit the like button
down there really helps the channel out don’t be afraid to subscribe if you want more free golf
content weekly as well i have a question for you all today also I want to know in today’s question
is what is your lowest score for 18 holes can be net or gross let me know and what’s your target
score going forwards let me know in the comments down below come on Ping help me shoot lower
scores so inside these clubs you’ve got a true cavity back design 431 stainless steel cast body
that’s a combo design to feel soft and stable is what Ping is saying but here’s the real magic the
elastimemer insert it’s lighter and deeper than before saving weight and boosting forgiveness
and tightening up dispersion which to be fair we could all do with more of that so let’s
break this down on the Ping i2 240 is built with a tour player kind of look to a certain
extent feel but they’re still packed with ping friendliness and launch and accuracy claims which
we will certainly be testing in this nine holes that’s the four iron and to be fair that looks
pretty good i’m not a forearm player and that looks very gameable and at the same time feels
very solid as wedges go really nice shape as well looks great down by the ball in between
distance here so it’s kind of shaped wedge I want not too chunky it’s moving more into
like a nice shaped wedge you know playing those feelely based wedge shots that you got
to get good at see oh yeah that felt good the performance gains over the i210 so they’re
saying it’s 11% tighter dispersion what the higher launching more forgiving long irons
more spin and height and better stopping power and remember dispersion can mean
short and long it doesn’t have to always mean left and right that’s a common
mistake controlling your distance is a key skill that better players often
have over lesser skilled players so any club that’s encouraging more of
that the better that’s not high enough obviously land angle through launch spin
control they’re all really powerful assets so I’m 210 out but it’s playing 220 up the
hill flat lie i’m going to hit a four iron over those trees i cannot believe this 4 iron
is going to get over those trees like I can’t believe it struck it well leaked it slightly
right but it comfortably got over those trees i would be hybrid there all day long i’d never
hit a 4 iron i can’t believe it so what I had to do is I had to put another one down i put
this one on a slight downhill slope again no way I would try and go over these normally
I’d probably shape around them but the pings need testing and again it got over i couldn’t
believe it got over now I am not far from the hole i’ve shortsided unfortunately um but we have
a birdie opportunity in theory if I can hit a chip oh yes yes please thank you four iron i
mean let’s be realistic i have a hybrid which I would hit i wouldn’t hit four iron
so I have a club that does that job but if you’re a long iron player that’s I can’t keep
saying it but I was surprised that was good so the shaping of these is impressive they’re a
lovely blend of medium top line not huge offsets you’ve got all your visible tech and cavity
backs and from the foreign to the wedge to a six iron here like the consistency of the look
and the shaping is what a better player would want but also someone who like I say could be any
handicap but wants petting help loftwise you got three options so standard power and retro subject
to what you want to chase is it distance is it gapping is it more height stock shaft in this is
the NS Pro modus this feels fine it’s a mid-launch profile fits a wide range of golfers obviously
you’ve got whatever custom fit you want from Ping they’ve been doing that for years and pioneered
it and the big question I guess is can they help me shoot lower scores that’s the point isn’t it
i mean I do feel like I’m hitting the ball well tonight do I particularly feel like I’m hitting
it more pin high than I normally would no but you would have to play over so many holes for that
to come across and through out of all the noise out there in golf companies Ping’s definitely one
I’m going to listen to more maybe than others um with an element of trust while at the same time
testing remember hit that like button if you’re liking the oncourse test i can do more surprise
club to come also you answer today’s question let’s hear it down below what’s your answer
to today’s question RIP i would say Ping are clearly almost in a league of their own when
it comes to precision and performance so that combination of what in theory every golfer would
want precision and performance so help with dialed in numbers and I do think the Pingai 240s just
maybe is one of the sweet spots with others out there in this area in this kind of field this is
the wedge again the wedge just looks so gameable and feels just so solid like you can totally
feel that the sound is being controlled and I think you’re going to see it when we go
to the surprise end club as well just how thoughtful this whole set with this other
club is with the way it just runs through the bag so Ping ID this is the long iron
equivalent i’ve got three irons so it’s the blended kind of driving iron utility iron
that’s going to blend with those irons let’s test that idea it looks great out of the
bag i’m actually thinking of putting one of these in my bag from my manufacturer so
super interested to see how this one feels cool yeah the launch on that for a threeiron
and the sound and feel is just powerful and solid the Ping IDI driving iron comes in three
different loft options i’ve got the three iron and it’s just perfect for launch i feel like
I can shape it i feel like I could hit it from the ground and tea it’s versatile it’s got a
forged face a stronger face in air technology they’re saying it’s a 5% thinner face for faster
ball speeds did I feel faster ball speeds no i felt like what I put in came out and that’s all
I kind of want and kind of all you’re allowed as well stainless steel body it’s got a shallower
face and shorter blade length and the blade length does blend with the set of iron so well
the i240 over to the IDI in the four to three is so seamless it just packs more of a helpful punch
which is kind of what you would want you can see that at the bottom as well and then they go on to
talk about turf interaction which is all fine for me it was a solid well-made blended brilliantly
driving iron long iron replacement utility iron whatever we want to call it very very gameable
if you like today’s video make sure you hit that like button subscribe as well for more free golf
videos would you test or game these irons let me know in the comments down below now if you
want to find out how far you should be hitting your 7 iron this video here has got all the
information you need regardless what handicap you

My best is 75 but only done it twice , I would just like to shoot in the 70's each time so looking for more consistency really , cheers Mark
Gross 75 nett 62 (on a par 71 from the tips in medal play & I won the comp) – alas now a 14 handicap …!
Lowest is a 71 gross 1 under at my home course, and a 73 1 under at easingwold many years ago
many years ago I was an 8.2, shot one over par72 at my home course with my Ping i3 blades. I really need new clubs with graphite shafts. My tired old body feels the pain of steel shafts. These Ping i240 just might be the answer. Might be an omen, my street address is 240 Harlech Way. Im 75
Best score 69, 2 handicap, target score is usually 75 at my home course but on a new course it’s still just break 80 and have fun.
I’ve had the i20, i25 irons, and now have the i E1 irons. They look very similar to the i240 and are forgiving and solid. Much easier to hit the the i20 or i25. Great vid as always Mark👍🏌️
…performance gains vs i210 — not the 230? And to be honest, the graphite label just lowers the looks, the 230's were money.
Scoring my age or better, fortunately I'm old and getting older, if I keep watching your videos I should keep on managing it 😉
Best score 82 I want to break 80 this season.
Shot 71 three times. Once was even par, the other two were 1 under, my goal is 1 bogey or less every 3 holes for 78 or better per round.
I;ve been happily playing the i e1's for many years and these look very similar. I suspect they would have longer shafts or something, but are very much the same deal…a little tweak
Ping I240 or I250 ???
Ahhh! Stover. Pretty course.
Best score 71 (par 69 course). Since then I have never shot lower than 73 on the same course..
I am not sure about the i240s. I play i210s and love them so I am not anti- Ping, but the i240s to my eye do not look as good. I would need to see the i240 in real life to compare them against my i210s, but the i240s look a bit chunkier.
Brilliant reviews mark 74 13 handicap 👍
Been as low as 3 handicap….best round ever on 18 ….- 4 on a 9 hole course …2 under …2under ….these days at 50 and not practicing as much …I usually score 75 to 85 depending on course difficulty……I own the i230s ……are these that much better than the I 230s I already have in the bag ….to be fair I liked my s55s better ….just wore them slap out
I’ve shot 2/3 under many many times over 9 holes. But never beaten level par over 18 🙈
Best is 73 when I was playing regularly. Now the target is in the low 80s as I only play 5-8 times a year. Retiring soon so hopefully the rounds numbers goes up and the score numbers go down.
Ping i250? at 2:50. Prototype irons? haha
I'll stick with my i230 irons. Best score I have is a 1 under par for 18 on a par 72 course when I 18 years old playing Ping Eye 2+ irons. Now I'm 51 and struggle getting down to a 40 for 9 holes.
I shot a level par gross 71 last year playing off 8 at the age of 69 of which I was so proud of myself. Unfortunately only did it once and not got near that score since and I framed the card. Thanks for the vid Mark.
Lowest round is 62 on a par 71 layout (many years ago at this point). Nowadays I play only a few times per year and try to keep it in the 70’s. Age related athletic deterioration happens rather quickly lol.
I put a premium on distance control on sweet spot strikes with both full swing and short game strikes. Regarding the i210, i230, i240, I feel the i210 is best for that, the i230 is 2nd, and the i240 last.
I only say that because the specs seem to indicate such. It's as if Ping couldn't improve on the i210 in regards to a player's iron, so they resorted to moving slightly toward a game improvement iron while hoping no one labels them as such. lol
Gross 74 (+2) playing off 9 at the time. Shot in mid 70’s a few times. Have gone sub par for 9 holes a few times. But the old thermostat out of comfort zone kicked in! 😂
Hi Mark, love your videos. Is that a weight on the bottom?? I have a set of the first G series and put a small piece of lead tape over all the weights to keep them from popping out. Looks like it's locked in a bit on the i240s..
Best ever was a 7 under par 62. Double torn achilles means I've not played in a long time 😢
The original and still the best YouTuber for golf reviews
Alot of very very good level golfers watch your videos it seems Mark 😀
Lowest score 72. I only ever have two objectives when I play. Shoot a PB and if not then break 80.
I250 score?! I thought it was i240.
Me personally with i210s best gross score – 79.
Shot a +3 gross 68 when I was 10 handicap and didnt hit one driver of fairway wood all day. Nowadays off 17 and hoping to get back somewhere near 12
The i230 was the previous years model not the i210. Excellent review! Very interested in trying a combo set of these with my current i525 irons I was fitted for 2 years ago.
You scored so well with the "I250's" on the course! 🤣
Best I've ever hit is an 80 on a par 72 but that was around 27 years ago. These days I'm just happy to wake up (and if I break 90, happy days)
81 gross. Love to break 90.
Best score net 84 but got injured and am now coming back to golf. Last round was 97 with a 42 back nine. Hoping to get back into the 80’s in the next year
Normally score between 85 to low 90s with Mizuno 225s, but would like to get around low 80s breaking into high 70s. Problem with 225s is I don’t get the height or backspin to hold greens. I’m getting fitted for the i240s in two days!!! Great review! Thanks for all the insights. Really enjoy your reviews and tips!!!
Lowest round ever is 2 under on a magical day 🤣🤣🤣 never been close to shooting under par ever again 😢😢😢
Best gross score. 76 a couple times. Hung out in the high 70’s low and mid eighties for several years. Age and injuries and I’m pleased now breaking 90.
84 gross 12 over par with the original PING Blueprint irons only (no other clubs)- i'm an 18 handicap and yes i have no business being near a blade but they're so dam beautiful to strike that i just can't relenquish them!!
I shot a +3 at Ping Kartsen Lake's, dropping the 3 shots in the last 2 holes. When I registered, I was level up to that point😂 This is many years ago now and now get round in +13-+18.
Typical, is the word I think of most after watching this. 😮😂
You have 'i250' tattooed all over your video… Other than that, I really enjoyed the review.
Best gross 73 twice. First time to win a comp at my then home track. Second playing away in scratch league. That was a long time ago. Now happy to shoot around 83-85 to be competitive.
