How To Hit A Stinger | The Shot Every Golfer Wants In The Bag
[Music] Today I’m going to teach you how to hit a stinger. [Music] We are standing right where it all started, the stinger shot on Instagram here at my home course, Nashville Golf and Athletic Club 13. And this is the view of that stinger that really changed the game for me in social media. I never knew where that was going to lead. I thought it was a cool shot. Posted it and it was wellreceived and I can’t thank y’all enough for all of y’all’s incredible support. So, here in this video, we’re going to teach you how to hit a stinger just like that. There’s five key steps to hitting a stinger like you see here on Instagram. Before we jump into that, I’m going to walk you through where this stinger shot has taken me. It’s taken me all over the world to Iceland [Music] to Australia and the views are just absolutely incredible. Utah might go down as one of my favorite locations for some of these stingers. And I can’t talk highly enough about New Zealand. The views in New Zealand, unreal. We got to hit some stingers there. [Music] I’ve gotten to hit stingers at Pebble Beach, which was surreal, just to say the least. [Music] Stingers in Colorado just hit a little different. [Music] And you cannot discount Maine. The views up there in Maine were spectacular. Getting to hit a stinger at Wentworth just outside of London. Couldn’t believe I got to do that. And quite possibly my favorite location that I’ve ever hit a stinger was outside of Tokyo, Japan. This place was unbelievable. And those are just a few of the epic locations I’ve had the honor of hitting stingers at. Truly blessed to get to travel the world and hit stingers. So, we’re going to jump into the five key steps to hitting a stinger. All right. The first key step is ball in the middle of your stance. The second step is to put 60% of your weight on that front foot. So, feel balanced and then just kind of shift that weight forward to give you a little more weight on that front foot. The third key step is through impact, make sure you have noodle arms, light forearms. You don’t want any tension in the forearms through impact because it will slow you down. We want as much speed as possible for this stinger shot so you get some distance out of it. All right. Now, the fourth key is paramount in hitting a quality stinger. In the down swing, you want to be leading hard with the hands to where those hands are way out in front of the club head. And the fifth and final step to hitting those pure stingers is going to be making sure that you are rotating your upper body. That way you cover the ball because you’re leading so hard with the hands. If you don’t rotate, that face is just going to be open and you’re just going to squirt high out to the right. We want that low penetrating straighter ball flight. And my stinger club of choice is the Titalist forged 620 4iron. This is an absolute butter knife and it’s got some scrapes on it, that’s for sure. However, this thing has been around the world with me and hit almost all of the iconic stinger shots. I do like using the four iron, but you can use a five, a three, a two, or even a fairway wood. But how I hit stingers, the five, four, or three iron will be best suited. And that right there is how you hit a stinger. Hope y’all enjoyed this and hope this helps you go out there and hit stingers with the best of them. As for me, Nashville Golf and Athletic Club, hitting a stinger pure. We’ll see you when we see you. Peace.
Hope this How To Hit A Stinger Tutorial helps you get out there and STING it with the best of them! This is the shot every golfer wants in their bag. Enjoy the vid!!

Superstar Zac…from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 you make it look Soo Easyyy cheers mate
Step 6. Chose downhill lies. Set the camera above, looking down at an angle. And here's your stinger! On camera, at least..)
Stinger came from the old timers hitting one so bad and so thin it made their fingers sting now we turned it into the complete opposite why do we even call it a stinger anymore it’s just a low riser isn’t it I mean your fingers don’t sting you hit it good idk food for thought
Hell of a stinger shot.
Zac, love the updated video. You're the best.
