Struggling to consistently compress the golf ball like the pros? You’re not alone. In this video, I reveal one simple downswing move that completely transforms your ball striking and gives you that flush contact you’ve been chasing.
Most amateur golfers make the same mistake—they hang back on the trail foot, pin their arms to the body, and spin through impact, leading to poor compression, topped shots, and inconsistent ball flight. But today, I’ll show you how to finally break that cycle.
You’ll learn:
✅ What true compression feels like
✅ Why your weight shift and arm motion might be hurting you
✅ The ONE move that leads to solid contact, consistent distance, and pure ball flight—and it’s not what you think!
✅ How to build a repeatable, tour-level impact position
If you’ve ever flushed a shot and thought, “How do I do that again?”—this video is for you.

Oh, that was so good off the club face. You ever hit that one golf shot that just rockets off the club face nice and high, goes further than you think, leaves you wondering how you can recreate that, but you just struggle to feel what it was that you did, right? You’re not alone. Average golfer struggles finding really good contact, really good compression of the golf ball like a tour pro and making that golf ball go further and higher and straighter. Well, I’m here to tell you there’s one easy move in your down swing that can help you find tour level compression, but it’s not what you think. Stick around to the end of the video to possibly earn a free lesson from me, as well as like and comment below what you liked about this video. Make sure to share it with some friends who might also need it. But let me know what you like about it so that I can create better videos for you. So, what is the secret move that every tour pro does to create perfect contact and perfect golf ball compression? But most golfers nowadays are taught to shift to the right, get the chest over their right leg, spin the hips, pin the arms to the body, side bend to the right in order to try and get the club face square the handle forward. The problem is is from this position, I don’t have access to the ground in front of the ball. Every tour pro on the planet hits the ground in front of the ball. None of them hit the ground behind it with an iron. So, how do we keep our weight back, spin the body, and hit the ground in front? I can’t do it without hitting the ground behind the golf ball. If you take a look at any tour pro on their social media profiles or on TV, pay attention to what their lead shoulder does. Okay? They go to the top of the back swing. Regardless of whether or not they stay centered in their turn or whether or not they move their center of mass to the right, they all do this one thing in the down swing extremely well. You need to do it, too. They set up. They go to the top of their back swing. And as they come down, their left shoulder stays pointed down to the ground where it was at the top. As they move their mass left. So my arms come down, my mass moves left. My shoulder stays pointed down. From a side view, as I move to the left, my shoulder moves down. It’s not tilting and falling back. When our weight shifts to the right, the shoulder comes up, the right shoulder drops. This is a great way to try to hit up on it. If you got the ball in really tall, rough, and it’s sitting off the ground, and you don’t want to swing underneath it, try this. It might work for you. But to find tour level control, you have to move that lead shoulder forward while keeping it pointed towards the ground. From here, I can extend the body, rotate the shoulders, and strike the ground every single time in front of the golf ball. So, when you go to the driving range and practice this, start with short swings. I slow it down and shorten this as a warm-up. I stop at about arms parallel, what I call P3 or position three. As I start down, I keep my left shoulder pointed at the ground as I move left and pull my arms down. That gets everything to move down and away from my body, which actually increases power like a catapult. This motion, because my weight and mass are forward of the golf ball, it’s a lot easier to hit through the golf ball and into the ground. I don’t have to swing very hard to get that golf ball to go very far because now my arm is actually moving the way it needs to and going through the golf ball. So, start slow and then ramp the speed up nice and smooth. Everything moves down and forward. That golf ball didn’t come out that short. Nice and compressed. Ball first contact. As you do this, ramp the speed up. We’ll make a little bit longer back swing. We’re going to keep the left shoulder pointed down at the ground as we move left. Really good. Still flies nice and high. Flies the distance is supposed to. 165 yards in the air. Keep the left shoulder pointed down at the ground as you move your mass to the left. If you don’t move the mass to the left and we move the arms down, I crash into the ground. If I leave the arm alone and I move my mass to the left, what’s going to happen? Well, now I’m going to hit the ground too far forward or I’m going to bend my arms and miss the ground alto together. You have to move your arms down, your mass left, while keeping your shoulder pointed at the ground as long as you can. Do this and I promise you, you’re going to make better contact, compress the heck out of the golf ball, and it’s going to go further with so much less effort. I liked that you focused on one thing.
This could be that one move to finally help as play well but I’m a picker Thank you 👍
I've been struggling on getting really good contact on my iron shots. I will definitely be working on my weight shift when coming down with the club. Thanks.
