True Linkswear has spent years developing this, the Lux 2 Maven. They have designed it to be the ultimate performance golf shoe, and it is also the most expensive shoe they have ever made I’ve had a few rounds with it now, so I’m going to tell you what I like about it, what I don’t, and how you decide whether or not it is worth spending $325 on this pair of shoes that the chances are your friends aren’t going to have With that, let’s not wasting time and jump right into it Hey, real quick, before we go any further, if you decide buy any of the products we talk about here or anything from True Link Square, for that matter, you can use the code BE15 and save 15%. As you might imagine, I will get a commission for that, so if that bothers you, if you think that makes me biased, totally understand, go do all your own research, but if you like this and this was helpful and you want to save some money, then use that code It’ll help you out, and this also supports the channel and allows me to continue making videos like this One of the thing to note at the end of this video, after I’m done talking about the new shoes, there’s a handful of other True Linkswear products that I had reviewed lately that I think you’re going to love And one thing that I was really excited about, but was disappointed by, and I don’t think you should buy So make sure you watch the end if you want to hear about some of the other latest products from True So personally, I am a huge fan of True Linkswear products, specifically because they focus on all day products. So stuff I can wear both on the golf course, off the golf course, and definitely leans towards a more casual style. But this is a little bit of a departure from the typical all day ethos of true For one, I’m pretty sure this is the first pair of troops that has these traditional spikes Because they’re two shoes, I also believe the heaviest golf shoes True has ever made So before we go into whether or not they pulled this shoe off, and if those features are a good thing or a bad thing, let’s talk about first impressions, because, I got to say, right out of the box, I was impressed Now, for a pair of $325 shoes, you would like to see a little bit of pomp and circumstance, and it’s safe to say, that is what you get with these My wife has been in the footwear business for almost two decades, and she saw the box, and she’s like, oh, someone spent a lot of money on that box. We’re not allowed to use boxes like that with the shoes we make So it’s clear that with this shoe, they wanted to make a statement But the box is just one part of the package. When you open it up, you are met with two of these, these velvet pouches held each of the golf shoes I’ve never opened a box of shoes and had each shoe in its own little velvet pouch I got to say, it was a little over the top, but it made an impression, and it really felt like I was opening something really special Which, unless you’re getting something super rare, limited edition, is just not something you normally get when you’re opening a box of shoes Looks wise, these are going to be a little bit polarizing. I actually personally really like the look of them. I think they’re kind of unique They take a lot of the traditional true styling, like the wider Tbox. I think that’s one of the most notable things you’re going to find about most true golf shoes, and they add a few extra flourishes that make it look really nice One thing that I personally think they did well is they took a lot of interesting features still made it look like a simple and clean golf shoe So at this color way, you have the bright green aglet at the tip of the shoelaces You have what they call the breezeway around the back. You have this canvas strap here, and you also have a very subtle camo up here in the white that I personally think looks really good I’ve heard a few people say that with perforations here, the stitching, the camo But it’s like one too many things going on, but I actually think they look really nice and they definitely stand out With this shoe, what they set out to do is to create a tour level golf shoe, and I definitely think they succeeded at that So these things weigh 18 ounces. The original OG truths are like 12 and a half and you have some of their lightweight nit models that are like nine ounces So these weigh twice as much as a lot of true golf shoes But because of that, stability is excellent These have been among the most stable shoes I have ever worn So not only do these soft spikes have a lot of grip to them the sole themselves are really thick, really robust, so you’re getting full traction across the entire shoe. Also, if you look closely down here, you’re going to see something that you don’t see in very many pairs of shoes In fact, the only other brand of shoes that I have tested that had this particular feature are painter shoes And that is a full carbon fiber ground plate that goes through the interior of the shoe So what this is going to do is serve a couple of different purposes. First, it’s going to allow you to more easily transfer your power from the ground into your swing So the idea being, the more stable you are, the more power you can get into your swing, the further you’re going to hit the ball, and the lower scores you’re going to have. That’s great The other thing that this carbon fiber plate is going to do, along with their wanderluck soul, is energy return and propulsion So every single time you take a step, it’s taking the energy, and it’s releasing it back up to make your steps feel just a little bit easier, a little bit lighter. So when you’re walking the course, you’re not going to get tired as quickly So if you have a stable golf shoe that helps your swing and keeps you from getting more fatigued I mean, that’s kind of like the ultimate in a tour level golf shoe And I’ve got to say, after three rounds using these, I think they’ve succeeded These are definitely among some of the more stiff golf shoes I’ve used as you’re going to find with tour level shoes My first round, I was able to walk 18 holes, no problem But there were definitely a little tight, ne a little breaking in, not to the point where I had blisters or any serious discomfort But it did take a little bit of getting used to the fact that they were pretty stiff and they’re pretty heavy But after about three rounds, they felt fully broken in, super comfortable And I got to say, across all of those rounds, swinging them, they felt great My golf swing felt extremely planted, extremely powerful, and I’ve been happy with the performance Sizing, I would say these definitely fit true to size They don’t have the widest toe box of any true shoes I’ve used but it definitely leans towards wider as opposed to more narrow So if you were someone that does have pretty wide feet, I think these are probably going to be a pretty good shoe for you. If anything, maybe size up half a size, but I normally wear 12, these were 12, and they felt great But for all the things that I love about the Lux two Mavens, there are two things that I don’t love. First, let’s start with the one we’ve already touched on, and that’s the price $325 is a whole lot of money for a golf shoe And to be clear, there’s a ton of tech, a ton of research that have gone into these shoes They use super premium materials, and they perform well But do they perform that much better than other shoes that are $100 or more less I don’t necessarily think so For instance, I recently reviewed the G4 MG4 plus O2 G they’ve got to work on that name. That’s a terrible name. Those shoes are over $100 less, and I got to say, generally speaking, they felt just as good. They were a little bit lighter, they were just as comfortable. They felt maybe not quite as stable But there were still, like, very stable tour level shoes are a whole lot cheaper One thing to know is you will see a whole lot more of those out on the golf course then you are likely to see with these. So if you’re someone who likes the idea of having a unique shoe, a special shoe, a shoe that you’re probably not going to see somebody else wearing on any given day, then these are absolutely good ones to get. But I did say there was one other thing I didn’t like, and honestly, this is a pretty big one for me. These might be the least breathable shoes I have ever played in So my two rounds walking in these shoes, the weather wasn’t overly hot, like 75, 80 degrees By the time we reached the turn, my feet were sweaty, like, really sweaty And that didn’t necessarily hamper performance at all, but it’s something I definitely noticed. And that’s not something I typically notice when I’m wearing golf shoes Usually, with most golf shoes, my feet don’t get overly hot or sweaty. So the fact that these did, and I specifically notice they did, just was something that I wasn’t quite expecting and I really feel like is worth mentioning So if you’re someone who plays golf in particularly hot or humid weather, you might want to think twice about these and find something with a little bit more breathability. The flip side of that is these are incredibly waterproof The third round I played with these, we got some rain, and these held up wonderfully in the rain. They still stayed stable. I did not slip once. They felt completely waterproof, so they were great in that regard. In fact, they even have a three year waterproof warranty So if you’re in the Pacific Northwest, like I am, and eight months out of the year, you’re going to be playing a lot of potentially inclement weather golf These are a shoe that can definitely perform But if you’re down south somewhere in the desert, you’re not playing in the rain, and it’s hot, then I would probably skip these All that’s say, should you buy them? Well, that’s kind of up to you. Are they worth $325? Honestly, that feels a little expensive to me but there’s something to be said for having the first proper spiked true shoe. The first real tour shoe, one that is among, if not the single most stable golf shoe I have ever used and it’s one that very few other people are likely to have So if you look at all those things and you’re like, yeah, that excites me, absolutely, you should go out and get this shoe If you like the idea of this shoe, but you don’t want to spend that much money, then you might go check out the Lux 2 player which is very similar in design, slightly less robust, uses a different upper material and is $100 cheaper. I have not personally used that one, so I can’t necessarily speak to the differences, but if you like everything, I said about this, you don’t want to spend that much money, and you want something that’s likely going to be a little bit more breathable, I would definitely take a look at that One other bit of good news when it comes to price is that you can also use the coupon code BE 15, and that’s going to save you 15% on any of the shoes I talked about. So this one, which retails for $325, you can get for closer to $275, with that code, and that definitely makes this a little bit more palatable Because this is a brand new shoe, I wouldn’t necessarily expect to see it go on sale anytime soon other than that. So the first time you’re probably going to see a discount, I would guess, is probably going to be Black Friday As I know that because of all the tech and all the materials they put in here, it is not a cheap shoe to manufacture So if you do want it, use the coupon code. That’s probably going to be the best price you’re going to get till closer to the end of the year. I don’t know that for sure, but I’m just guessing So real quick, before we go, while we’re talking about True, I have also tested out a handful of other products from True over the course of the last month that you might want to know about. There’s a few that I absolutely love, and one that I was really excited for that disappointedointed me So let me talk real quick about a couple of those in case you were looking for some other golf apparel ideas First off, I talked about these in a recent video. The all day shorts are excellent. If you are looking for a pair of shorts, you can wear on the golf course, off the golf course, anywhere, have adventures in, these are the ones I recommend They’re the perfect blend of looking and performing like golf shorts, but also looking and performing like everyday shorts. You can run on a hike or to a park or to the bar to whatever you want And that definitely harkens back to the core of what true is all about Also, their all day pants. The all day khaki, their all day Cheeto, are excellent. I have had various pairs of these throughout the years, and when I’m traveling, they are one of my go to pairs of pants. You can wear them on a plane, you can wear them out to a nice dinner, you can wear them golfing, you can wear them hiking They’re super versatile, they’re super comfortable, and just like the shorts, they work just as well off the course as they do on That said, the product that I was possibly most excited about is the one that I was the most disappointed by And that was this. This is their dead guy crewneck So I have an older True Linkswear crewneck sweatshirt. had a little sloth on it. It was a limited edition I probably get more comments on that sweatshirt than any other garment I have. People love the sloth I also have the newer True Linkswear future Staples hoodie. That is among the most comfortable hoodies I have got, and I wear it all the time. So, naturally, I wanted the future Staples crewneck that had the dead guy. logo. So that’s this. So I’ve got the little dead guy, it looks cool. I love this kind of charcoal color way, was so excited for this. Until I put it on, I ordered a large. I’m generally a medium to a large and most sizing, and I never go up to extra large Well, this, as a large, is like, like it’s so tight, and it does not fit like a large. It honestly fits closer to a small to a medium as opposed to a large. So I love the way this looks, but definitely be careful with sizing. If you’re a little bit of a bigger dude or if you’ve got like a little bit of a dad bod or anything like that The large is probably going to be a bit tight on you. It certainly is for me, and just something to watch out for So I’m hoping I can go get this in a different size, because I love the way that it looks. I just didn’t love the way that it fit And finally, I didn’t know these were coming out, so I’m really excited for them. They’re the all day knit fours. So the all day knit twos are one of my all time favorite vacation shoes. You can wear these anywhere. If you’re going to Hawaii and you want a pair of shoes, you can wear to the beach, wear around town, walking around, but you’re going to play like one round of golf in a cart and you don’t need like a tour level shoe. These are the best shoes out there I like the colorways better of the knit 3. I like the fit better of the knit 2. So with these new fours, I’m really excited that I’m hoping they’re going to find a middle ground The fit of the two is the look of the three and just making the best all day nits that they’ve ever had I’ve not tried them on and warned them yet because I need to go photograph them but I wanted to get this video shot and at least mention them before I take off for Europe for a couple weeks And with that, I’m taking a just a couple days. So I’ve got a whole lot of stuff I need to do, so I’m gonna leave it here My name is Sean Ogle. I’m the founder of this thing here, Breaking A. We’re talking about cool golf products, cool golf courses, and all sorts of stuff like that If you got value out of this, maybe subscribe. Drop a comment. If you have any questions, I’m pretty familiar with all of True’s products So if I can help you nail down the right products for you, just let me know, and I will do my very best to help. With that, I hope you have an excellent day, and we’ll see you on the next video. Peace.

Make them in the USA and I'm sold!
About $100-130 over priced. I'll stick with G/FORE MG4+ O2. I'm sure plenty of people will still buy them though. Throwing money away IMO. Great review though!
As a person who believes in the concept, they still haven't quite nailed the design for me yet. They have some great fitting and feeling footwear, but the looks just fall short for me to commit $200+ on a pair.
Footjoy makes the best golf shoe and it isn't close.
$325 for green aglets and velvet bags that have no value… whi in the focus group signed off on those as ‘musts’ to help validate the price point
Have you tried the new vacay shoe?
Rocking some Adidas Codechaos that felt like a great deal for $100. Would highly recommend!
I wish True would bring back the real original zero drop clown shoe. It’s the most comfortable golf shoe ever created.
