(Seguin) \u2013 Texas Lutheran senior women\u2019s golfer Summer Swift advanced to the national ballot of the CoSIDA Academic All-America\u00ae program after being named to the First Team All-District\u00ae 8 At-Large Team.<\/p>\n
The 2020 Academic All-District\u00ae Women\u2019s At-Large Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognizes the nation\u2019s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.<\/p>\n
Swift, the 2018 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference individual champion, was named to the Women\u2019s Golf Coaches Association All-West Region Team for 2019-20.<\/p>\n
A four-year letter-winner, Swift also was named as the TLU Female Sportsmanship Award Winner for 2019-20. She was a three-time All-SCAC honoree.<\/p>\n
In her four-year career with TLU, Swift won three collegiate tournaments and tied for another (losing on a scorecard playoff). She was named an SCAC Women\u2019s Golfer of the Week on six different occasions.<\/p>\n
Swift has been named to the SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll three times.<\/p>\n
Swift graduated from TLU in May 2020. She will head to physical therapy school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She will be in a three-year program in pursuit of her doctorate in physical therapy.<\/p>\n
The CoSIDA Academic All-America\u00ae program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions \u2014 NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.<\/p>\n
Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District\u00ae will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America\u00ae ballot. Academic All-America\u00ae honorees will be announced from June 16-19. The CoSIDA Academic All-District\u00ae teams include the student-athletes from geographic districts across the United States and Canada.<\/p>\n
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America\u00ae programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America\u00ae programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America\u00ae program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.<\/p>\n
