The 50th playing of the Walker Cup this weekend comes at what is considered by many to be most beautiful golf course in the world, Cypress Point Club on California\u2019s Monterey Peninsula. The rare opportunity for golf fans to see the Alister MacKenzie gem will make the two-day event must-watch viewing for die-hards. The best news of all: The broadcast of the match between the United States and Great Britain & Ireland will be shown live in prime time on the East Coast both Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n
Golf Channel and Peacock will show 12 hours of live coverage. For a primer on everything you need to know about the biennial event, read below.<\/p>\n
Ten amateurs from Great Britain & Ireland will compete against 10 from the United States.<\/p>\n

The two teams will attend a flag-raising ceremony on Friday, Sept. 5, at 5 p.m. local time at Cypress Point Club.<\/p>\n
There are four sessions over two days:<\/p>\n
Foursomes (four matches), 8-8:45 a.m. local time<\/p>\n
Singles (eight matches), 1:45-2:55 p.m. local time<\/p>\n
Foursomes (four matches), 8-8:45 a.m. local time<\/p>\n
Singles (10 matches), 1:30-3 p.m. local time<\/p>\n
Each match is worth 1 point. If a match is tied after 18 holes, each team earns a half-point. The first team that gets to 13\u00bd points wins the cup. If there is a tie at 13-13, the U.S. retains the Cup by virtue of its win in 2023 at St. Andrews.<\/p>\n
