The Tiger Woods connection

The pro golf icon and Orange County native has hosted the Genesis Invitational since 2020. It’s fitting since the Riviera Country Club was the site of Woods’ 1992 PGA Tour debut when he was just a 16-year-old amateur.

As a child, Woods attended the Los Angeles Open at the golf course with his dad.

The tournament debuted 100 years ago — in 1926 — as the Los Angeles Open at Los Angeles Country Club. In 1973, it found its home at the Riviera Country Club. Last year, the Genesis Invitational was temporarily relocated to Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego while LA recovered from the devastating January 2025 wildfires.

What to KnowThe 2026 Genesis Invitational is from Thursday, Feb. 19 to Sunday, Feb. 22 in Los Angeles. The…
[4
165,166,66,455,94,121
post-2995","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-california","tag-california","tag-california-golf","tag-golf","tag-pacific-palisades","tag-pga","tag-sports","cs-entry","cs-video-wrap
["GET
