Shane Lowry has really struggled at times this week at Aronimink, despite making the cut at the PGA Championship.<\/p>\n

Lowry has posted rounds of 68, 76 and 70 at the PGA Championship this week, and is sitting in a tie for 64th heading into the final round on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old Irishman has experienced a challenging 2026 season so far on the PGA Tour, especially after losing the lead late on at the Cognizant Classic back in March.<\/p>\n

And Shane Lowry\u2018s form, or indeed his mood, has not improved this week at the PGA Championship.<\/p>\n

Day two was the real killer for Lowry, after his round of 76 saw him tumble out of contention.<\/p>\n

He posted a 70 at Aronimink on day three, but he still wasn\u2019t at all happy.<\/p>\n

After finishing his third round on Saturday, Lowry said the PGA of America have got the setup at Aronimink wrong this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah I think it\u2019s a great golf course, but I think it has been set up pretty poorly,\u201c he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I guess that people sitting at home on the couch can say, \u2018well, people are making birdies, some people are shooting good scores\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s always going to happen, they\u2019re the best players in the world. But I was happy to hear Rory and Scottie\u2019s comments yesterday, because it wasn\u2019t just me feeling it out there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like when you see the best players in the world struggling from 10 feet, you know that there\u2019s something wrong somewhere.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I think they got it wrong the first two days. It looks like they\u2019ve\u2026 it was certainly a little bit easier today, and it looks like that\u2019s kind of maybe a reaction to the first two days, which is not right either you know.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to play a similar setup every day, and you want to play a golf course that gets harder as the week goes on, especially in these major championships.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou look at the field so bunched, maybe that\u2019s the reason for the setup the way it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, many golf fans took to social media in reaction to the Irishman\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo tired of the whining. I remember Jack & Tiger saying 75% of fields in majors are already beat cause of their attitudes. They are supposed to be hard,\u201c one golf fan insisted.<\/p>\n

While another said: \u201cDeath, taxes and Shane Lowry moaning at a major\u2026tradition unlike any other.\u201c<\/p>\n

The comments kept coming, with one golf fan criticizing Lowry\u2019s attitude, saying: \u201cCourse set up is fine. What has been pretty poor this week, is the attitude of several players.\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cShane can only win on the PGA tour when Rory is holding his hand at the Zurich. It\u2019s a miracle he has a major under his belt,\u201c one golf fan exclaimed.<\/p>\n

While others said: \u201cAll these pros mostly euros whining about that course! Guess they want it so they don\u2019t have to think and actually play good in a major to win,\u201c and, \u201cHilarious, he can\u2019t putt so it\u2019s the course\u2019s fault.\u201c<\/p>\n

Then one golf fan labelled Lowry as \u2018insufferable\u2019: \u201cThese guys are so insufferable at times. They truly believe if they aren\u2019t making birdies it\u2019s some slight to their ability. It\u2019s the lowest score that wins not who makes the most birdies.\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cThese comments are crazy to me. Course is holding guys to reasonable scores and has produced a leaderboard full of stars with long-shots in the mix, and nobody is running away. Checks all the boxes for entertaining golf. I\u2019d say they\u2019ve set it up very well,\u201c another fan fumed.<\/p>\n

While others said: \u201cOh no, the pins are tucked, it\u2019s tough to get it close, it\u2019s tough to 2-putt or chip it close, the rough is thick, the wind is blowing. Interpretation: My bestie had a tough first round and I just repeat what he says,\u201c and, \u201cEveryone plays the same course. Low score wins. These entitled millionaires complaining when a course is difficult is a pathetic look. Shut up and play and stop whining.\u201c<\/p>\n

Finally, another golf fan told Lowry to stop moaning: \u201cLots of whining from multi millionaires because they aren\u2019t 20 shots under. Just play the damn course and stop complaining. Pathetic.\u201c<\/p>\n

It must be said, the golfers who have complained about the course setup this week have got it completely wrong.<\/p>\n

Most golf fans have loved watching the tournament this week and that is really all that matters.<\/p>\n
