Ghost Golf.

However, their take is a little bit different.

Everything about Ghost Golf bags feels targeted to a younger demographic. It kind of seems like they’re the high-end version of Suinday Golf – a brand that emphasizes fun and casual rounds with their marketing.

But the question is, does Ghost Golf succeed?

Their Anyday series of bags retail for $415, and while on the surface they look great, what’s it really like to own one? And how do they compare to luxury bag offerings from other brands?

I’m going to give you the full rundown of all the pros and cons of the Ghost Golf Anyday bag in this review.

Ready? Other models in this line include the “Katana,” “Oreo,” “Patriot,” and “Ronin”.

Ghost also has a line of “Weekender” golf bags that fit the same theme, but are smaller, and lighter than their Anyday counterparts.

First Impressions of the Ghost Golf Anyday Bag

The very first thing I said when pulling my Anyday Maverick out of the box was “wow, this feels heavy.”

And at 6.5 pounds it’s the heaviest golf bag that I’ve tested in recent memory. I’m also not sure if it’s 6.5 pounds with or without the straps, but based on how it feels, I’d guess that is the weight without them.

Once you get it out of the box, you start to understand where the weight comes from The Anyday is very well-made, and the synthetic leather is similar in quality to the Vessel Player IV bags, and a step above the Stitch MIY series bags.

Visually, it’s a good-looking bag. The red ejection handle-looking tag on the side that reads “Play Fearlessly” will definitely be a bit of a love it or hate it element, but for the younger demographic, I think it plays well.

“Play Fearlessly”

The bigger issue for me that I noticed right away?

There are Ghost logos….everywhere.

I personally prefer more subtle golf bags. It should be less about the brand, and more about the product.

But Ghost really seems to want you to know who made this bag.

Because a very quick count of visible logos came out to 14.

In this photo alone I count 8…

That feels like it’s about 10 too many, and when testing the bag, I did feel slightly self-conscious that I had become a walking billboard for the brand.

Again, some people may love this, but I think the bag would be significantly better had they used a little restraint on the branding.

But overall, my initial impressions were that the bag is great, with some nice design touches, and is on par with other high-end bags I’ve reviewed.

Ghost Golf Anyday Bag Features
The quilted pattern on the hip pad is a nice touch.

The title of this review refers to the Anyday as a “Maximalist” golf bag.

Max logos.

Max storage.

Max features.

When it comes to storage and features, the Anyday Maverick has no shortage of either.

In terms of design, it feels like a more robust version of the new Stitch SL2 MIY and Airwalker bags. By that I mean there’s no traditional garment pocket, but rather two pockets on the bottom half of the bag. These are both very large, and can easily accommodate layers or rain gear.

Although, personally I do miss having a single larger pocket.

There are two velvet-lined valuables pockets, that do a good job of keeping things like your watch, car keys, or wallet safe.

The rangefinder pouch is very convenient, although I do wish that instead of a pull tab, it had a loop similar to how Vessel does it on their bags.

The rangefinder pouch with the Ghost logo.

This is one of those things I never would have thought about until testing this bag and the Player Air back to back. Having a loop makes it a little bit faster and easier to access.

The dual cooler-lined water bottle holders are both well-positioned and easy to use.

Both the 7-way divider and the straps are velvet lined as well, which I love. It makes the bag feel more high-end, and is one of the main reasons I personally recommend the Vessel Player IV Pro over the standard IV.

I also love the fact that it includes a 7-way divider rather than the 6-way of the comparable Vessel bag. The extra spot for a dedicated putter well is very helpful. I’ve received a ton of comments over the years asking if specific bags have a putter well, so I know it’s a feature a lot of people appreciate.

You can also get the Anyday with a 14-way divider, although I personally prefer the 7-way.

The rotator base and carbon fiber legs deploy very smoothly, and feel well constructed.

The base of the Anyday bag.
Ghost Golf Anyday Extras

Along with all the features mentioned, I’m not sure I’ve ever had a bag that comes with so much extra.

You get both a dual strap as well as a single shoulder strap. So depending on your use case for the Anyday, you’ve got options there.

It also comes with a glove keeper, line marking aid, and rain hood. Obviously, a rain hood is fairly standard, but having a few of these extras does make it feel like you’re getting extra bang for your golf buck.

How Does the Ghost Golf Anyday Perform on the Course?
Despite the bag being heavy, the straps are comfortable and the velvet lining definitely elevates the look and feel.

More so than most other bags I’ve used, this bag feels equally adept at both being a cart bag and a push cart bag.

The problem is that despite Ghost touting a “lightweight design that weighs just 6.5 lbs,” this is a heavy bag.

Like, really heavy.

While the strap design is great, and they’re very padded and comfortable – the weight of the bag is such that it feels overly burdensome to carry on a regular basis.

Especially considering all of the storage options, you could easily get this bag weighing 25 pounds or more once it’s fully loaded up.

This isn’t to say you can’t carry it for the occasional round, but I wouldn’t buy this bag if you’re looking to make this your everyday carry bag. For that I’d consider the Jones Rover or Vessel Player Air – but those are definitely a bit stripped down compared to this full-featured bag.

Because of its size and stability, I’ve found it to work great on both a push cart and a traditional golf cart. Although, I’m kind of surprised given all this bag has, that it doesn’t have a better cart strap pass-through.

Final Thoughts on the Ghost Golf Anyday Bag

I think that Ghost Golf nailed the name of this bag with “Anyday.”

Whether you’re looking to carry, push, or ride – this bag can do it all.

If the weather is less than ideal, the synthetic leather will help add a little bit of water resistance, and keep your contents mostly dry.

The problem is that because it does a little bit of everything, it’s not necessarily top-of-class in any one department.

It’s too heavy for me to recommend it as a daily carry bag, and the lack of cart pass-through, keeps it from being a dedicated cart bag.

I’ve found the Ghost Anyday to work best for me when on a push cart. It allows me to store whatever I could possibly need on the golf course, and the size and stable nature of it keeps it from jostling around on the cart.

Build quality and features are excellent, and if you’re into the Ghost branding and aesthetic, you’re going to love this bag.

However, despite liking many features such as the dual valuables pouches, 7-way divider with putter well, and velvet lined straps – the weight and superfluous use of Ghost branding will probably keep me from personally using this bag much.

But that’s just me and my preferences.

If you like the looks of it and are often switching between walking, riding, and pushing this bag offers a whole lot for $415, and may be well worth buying.

Ghost Golf Anyday Maverick Golf Bag

Looking for a bag that is well built, has tons of storage, and unique styling all it’s own?
