IT WOULD be hard to over praise officials and members of Gourock Golf Club for the excellence of their arrangements for the exhibition by well-known professionals Eric Brown, Sam Torrance, Ronnie Shade and David Ingram.
And of course the spectators also come in for a bouquet.
Exhibitions of this nature are often spoiled by wild stampeding by onlookers from green to green for a close up of the contestants.

On Sunday, with conditions perfect, everything went like clockwork.
The Gallery of enthusiasts were in complete harmony with the numerous stewards.

It was an ambitious step to stage the exhibition. But everybody was happy, especially the golfers who put all they knew into their play. They found the course tricky.

Naturally much interest was centred on nearby neighbour Sam Torrance of Largs.

Then he was tops in the Roddice Open in Italy, followed by his appearance in the Double Diamond team championship, and latterly winner of the Zambian Open.
