welcome back to how to break 90 with a guy who shoots in the 80s practice Edition come on here are two effective strategies to make the most out of your practice time to actually ensure you’re getting better when you go out on the Range or on the practice screen these two strategies will get you exactly where you need to go I’ve personally done both of these for the last two years and I’ve dropped my handicap from an 18 all the way down to an 8.5 for an effective range practice session you’re going to grab either your odd or even irons for me it was my nine iron my seven iron my five iron my driver you’re going to hit three balls for every iron and in between each iron you’re going to hit two drop this is going to ensure that you’re getting your iron work in but also you’re getting your drives in as well you’re not just hammering your irons or hammering your driver you’re hitting both ends of the spectrum and you’re improving on both consistently day in and day out the most important thing to improve on if you’re a high handicapper I’m talking 15 and above on the putting green is speed control I don’t care about aim point I don’t care about your line you need to understand the feel for your putts especially at long distances to cut out three putting this drill is perfect for that you’re going to take your golf towel off your bag and you’re going to place it over a hole then you’re going to pace yourself out to 20 30 and 40 ft you’re going to take a few balls from each spot put your ball onto the towel the objective is just to get it within the towel range this will open up your mind it will release the stress cuz you’re no longer trying to make putts you’re just trying to get it in the vicinity and eliminate three putting and remember you don’t suck at golf you’re just not good yet don’t forget to follow come on
