offerings from wellestablished brands like Adidas Nike and New Balance in this review you’ll learn why it’s my top choice race day running shoes for the sub 5,000 pesos price range let’s get started [Music] hi there fellow runners i’m now presenting the leaning Feden 5 Challenger or 5C here uh hopefully you can see it as I can see in the monitor it’s kind of too bright when it’s being um lighted by the light of my room as you can see uh it’s being a neon light lime green or something which is perfect for night runs and I specifically run most of my long runs during the night or uh late afternoons so as you can see it’s one of my current favorites right now in the sub 5,000 pesos price range alongside uh the XEP 160X 5.0 as a carbon plated race day shoe one surprising characteristic of the Feden 5C is its uh soft com comfy uh midsole but uh once you pick up the pace and during your turn over it’s very responsive so if you’re just uh walking around and uh testing the feel of this running shoe you’ll kind of feel that it’s very soft the turnover of your run it’s very very responsive which I really like i would say this is a perfect long distance all around running shoe not just for a full marathon but even your shorter 21k runs 10k runs or even a f really fast 5k its midsole which they call super boom foam is probably one of the most responsive and bouncy midsoles that I ever ran in with all the running shoes I have tested from Chinese brands to well-known brands like Adidas and Nike and so on probably one of the closest race day or carbon plated running shoes that I can think of in terms of feel would be the New Balance Supercom Elite version 4 leaning claims that its energy return rate is up to 89% now I really can’t say if this true or not but based on the mileage that I run here which is about 120 km already and my experience what it’s one of the top bounciest and responsive carbon plated running shoes that I ever tried even though it’s a carbon plated uh race day running shoe and you expect it to be on the stiffer side the Super Boom midsole foam kind of complements the carbon plate really well so for some reason they were able to um create this amazing and budget friendly race day carbon plated running shoes and in the Feden lineup this is the entry level of their race day shoes there’s an elite and I’m not sure what’s the highest one but I think it’s the ultra feden ultra uh but but the this lowest end of the feden series alone it’s really amazing [Music] probably the best allaround running shoes at the 4,000 pesos price range i was able to get the leaning Feden 5 Challenger for only $4,73 pesos via the Shopee Mall now for that price it’s probably one of the best sub $90 running shoes that you can ever buy its best feature would be its soft and responsive midsole which is the super boom foam it has an awesome rebound as you go faster and harder my first run in the Feden 5C I immediately noticed this bouncy yet responsive feel that most runners would love it’s also one of the lightest at 210 g for a US size 10.5 one factor for its lightweight construction is its upper which I think they call boom fiber it’s a soft but breathable nylon mesh and I really like it it’s not a dirt magnet either i just love the Feden 5C and not just the feel of the shoes but its look as well it has several amazing colorways you really can’t say no to a good-looking and fast running shoes it feels true to size i just ordered my usual running shoe size which is a US 10.5 and it feels just right there is no wide option but for me there’s extra room in the toe box and it feels wider than normal which is typical with Chinese brand running shoes now if you want something really wide I would recommend to size up by half a size during my initial run I felt some minor discomfort but once I laced up and tightened my laces I didn’t have any issues anymore the laces are great and locks in the shoe really well while the tongue is gasseted it really locks in the feet once you lock up your laces durability wise I’ve run in the Feden 5C for more than 120 km and it still looks new except for the usual dirt the outsole seems a subpar quality at first but when I check now 120 km in and it barely has any wear and tear just good quality build from leaning and I expect the shoes to last more than 500 km [Music] looks great responsive and bouncy affordable and durable you really can’t go wrong with the Leaning Feden 5 Challenger as a race day running shoes or a goto allrounder overall I’m giving it a gold recommendation
