try and land this on the number close it’s not a bad place to putt from straight a little bit back up the hill from that side a triple for one of the other co-leaders meanwhile Tommy Fleetwood was the third at 9 under and he opens with a different scenario long birdie putt here 66 ft come on then oh it’s looking good he’s saying come on then come on then come on then Tommy i think Jay should be proud of many many things he accomplished in his time as a commissioner let’s go back out to the sixth wonderful shot by Floodwood his third have that converting Jason to increase that lead no problems whatsoever that’s sort of been the weakness Trevor sometimes in the weekend the flag stick but it looks solid today a lot of deliberating over the wind frank eventually settled with pitching wedge he won no part of the long got a lot out of that pitching words which excellent great chance here for Tommy at 10 uphill the entire journey oh and never ever looked like missing frank that was perfectly crafted beautiful T- shot fantastic second one putt now I look back to the save on nine this is a good stroke uses that line differently and there was a huge cheer from New England you never know well I can say this Frank at every turn now up ahead Fleetwood couple more rolls oh it’s an AO flintwood flying high [Applause] it’s almost the complete opposite denny comes here and this hole has his number tommy Fleetwood comes here and has crazy confidence well this is more what you expect at a 275 yd par4 oh yeah that’s going to chase up there that’s going to be another punch for an eagle 34t 4 in for an eagle got to be aggressive with this one it’s really slow coming up the hill and that was not very good to take a three shot lead not a problem tommy Fleetwood extends his lead to three a solid shot much better a putter he’s been of late being more bold and aggressive this for 62 this for 62 it’s good looking [Music] three shot lead after three rounds at the Paris games tomorrow will go for the gold here at the Travelers [Applause] he thought he made it fun to watch that’s for sure 16 under par can’t wait to hear from Tommy amanda down to you a very happy Tommy Fleetwood as you head into Sunday with three shot lead and we’re just going to jump right into your highlights because you did so much so well today we want to hear it right from you as to what you were seeing out there starting out with your birdie on three yeah it’s uh nice to get off to a good start really felt like I hit nice shots into one and two played nice good shots into three but you always want to get some momentum early uh to have a good day this was obviously a massive bonus like right in between clubs off the tea on the par three yeah a long way past but it was one of them it did look in for a long time but that that was a bit of a bonus so then uh like I say it’s nice to get off to a good start and then um par five here like uh very important at the fairway bit fairway for the first three days so get it green side it’s pretty simple chip knock it in so that was Yeah so that was good all all things good so far momentum was definitely here for you again at the 10 yeah I made a good pass save on nine after a terrible well not a terrible wet show it was a poor wet shot one that I didn’t really need to mess up hold that on on 10 uh 13’s been very kind to me so far i’d like it to keep doing that um this actually I was thinking just like five foot past the hole there it’s going all the way down it probably won’t get into the water but I you know it wasn’t a really nice putt to look at so I was just happy to uh I was looking to get it within like 5 ft really and it went in when you take a look at this scorecard what jumps out to you that you’re most proud of uh well the two kind of ruins it cuz it’s all fours and threes but uh I’m not going to complain about a two in there but yeah but you know bogey free um is always good 14 fairways like I you don’t really realize when you’re playing um but yeah putting the ball in play all day and giving myself a chance to score that’s obviously something that’s going to be a standout there it’s funny i asked you what you were working on coming into this week and you said I I felt like I lost my swing last week so I have been grinding talk about that transition from a difficult golf course in difficult conditions how you get your head right heading into a week like this yeah last week was really disappointing for me i felt like I’d done felt like my game was in really good shape going into it i’d done a lot of good work um and just I mean like it’s easy for any of us to get into like bad habits if you like like habits that we would creep into everybody’s got their tendencies mine uh I I honestly the the range last week was a bit of a downs slope and the wind was down off the left and I I know I started toppling in my back swing falling forward losing my timing uh from the top and Oakmont’s not a place you want to be when uh when it’s not uh when you’ve not got everything uh that you need but um you know you learn from those things i think the good thing is that we knew what I needed to put right i worked hard Monday Tuesday Wednesday uh Thursday as well um and it’s and you know so far it’s been very very good like seeing uh long game stats like that when you’re playing you you obvious you know you feel pretty comfortable out there like I was happy you know looking at some of the shots before hitting them and I I felt good about it but to see um the numbers and the stats like that is nice to see it’s always nice when the work pays off immediately that rarely happens in the game of golf uh Jim Nance was texting with your coach Butch and he was talking about how you guys have really been focusing on not starting to putt defensively under pressure really being firm and aggressive no matter the situation we all know that you have put yourself in this position a million times and you’re still looking for that first win on the PGA Tour what’s it going to take for you tomorrow does it come down to that putting uh it’ll come down to a bunch of things really i think uh and honestly I’ve been saying this for a while actually this year I haven’t been in contention much at all i um I’ve been on like the outskirts if you like i’ve been like that fraction just you know Tory Pines I was like really close to being in contention couldn’t quite get there hill and Head the same um Philadelphia the same like always like my best finishes have been just outside of being in contention but like really close um so actually putting myself there being in the last group tomorrow really happy with that um and yeah just go out it’s it’s all a learning experience no matter what but um yeah I’ve been here plenty of times i’m looking forward to it uh I’m happy with the work that I’ve done and I’m happy that I’ve bounced back for the first three days of this tournament from last week and um it’s just an amazing opportunity for me to go out and and enjoy it tomorrow and play and hopefully it’s our time the fans are certainly behind you we appreciate the time Thomas thank
