davis Martin coming off his best start ninth start of the year 10th appearance erra a fine 365 doesn’t walk too many people opponents OPS at 800 and we’ll see how he fares with this Arsenal got him upstairs with the heat he set him up with the change and wiped him out with a high fast ball [Music] as this one off the bat of Palanco taken care of by Maid as he hits a bouncer to Vargas ranging to his left he’ll glove and throw and get Rodriguez one two three go to Mariners luis Castillo is on the mound for the Mariners yeah coming off a really good outing against the Yankees and you know I talked about some of the swing and miss it’s been absent from his game early this year especially on the fast ball so a little bit of an uptick first pitch in play soft pop up over to third base ben Williamson halfway home makes the catch there’s the slider that has driven into right field so the first hit of the ball game goes to Matt Fice here’s the stretch and the 3-2 swinging a high fly ball deep to left center field julio going back to the warning track he’s got some room and he makes the catch for the second out of the inning swinging a fly ball into straightaway center field and deep julio going back to the warning track he’s there he’s got room and he makes the catch and that is going to retire the side joshua Palasios against Luis Castillo bottom of the second nothing nothing this is driven in the air to right field and it’s going to one hop off the wall palasios picks up the ball will stop at second a leadoff double here in this bottom of the second inning that one hit awfully hard by Joshua it was 109 miles an hour off the bat palasios advances to third he’s there with one out infield in against Austin Slater fresh off the IIL and he got him fast ball then nearly hit his belt buckle at 97 all kinds of run to it and Slater is the first strikeout victim tonight for Luis Castillo swinging a fly ball into the gap in right center field it’s going to hang up there for Tiveres and Julio and it’s going to be Julio who makes the catch snatches it right away out of the glove of Leodyis they avoid the collision and Julio makes the catch and that is going to retire the side unfortunately they did not collide now the Mariners have two on with two out rbi chance here for Jorge Palco two outs and two on hit hard on the ground through the right side williamson being waved in here comes the throw it’s cut off throw to third to get Crawford he is safe at third base and Jorge Palanco pushes across the first run of the ball game it’s one to nothing Mariners in the third inning welcome back the bottom of the third about to get underway if you come down to Ray Field and happen to come by section 140 you’re going to see this lovely mural of Pope Leo the 14th obviously we know he is a big White Sox fan so we are honoring him in a big way take a look at this picture this is the section where he sat when he came to game one of the 2005 World Series we also have his jersey over here in this section i’ve seen a lot of people come by taking some pictures with the Pope so if you happen to come down here to the field guys uh make sure you come by cuz I can feel the energy in this section you guys up in the booth come down and get a picture 1-1 hit on the ground and it squeaks past TZ and out into shallow right for what should be a base hit swinging a miss as Maid takes up a high throw and it’s coralled by JP Crawford not in time six back from Maidroth as Thice strikes out swung on ground ball to third base backhand Williamson he has it fires to first it’s low dug out by TZ on the back hand and that’s it for the inning castillo flashes a Castillo flex he loved that leody Tiveres leads off the fifth on the ground and Vargas was lined up in the perfect spot high throw and the tag is missed an error on Vargas allows Tiveres to reach to begin things in the top of the fifth ball just a little bit high tvaris getting down the line there he goes vice with a chance but a stolen base for Tiver so Will Venibal has challenged the safe call at second base steve what do you think i think he got him i think he got him on the back just before the foot was in on the bag calling the bill is overturned the runner is out chicago will retain their challenge 32 is hit on two hops to Maid good strong throw to first one- nothing Seattle castillo in a groove he’s retired eight in a row mariners on top one- nothing there’s a fast ball up and out of the strike zone that’s the fifth punch out for Castillo that fast ball has really been cooking tonight first of all good velocity little uptick in velocity popped up Williamson a long run for it into foul ground and he makes the catch williamson made that look pretty easy yeah he’s good going back over his right shoulder i saw this a couple times on that first road trip he had when he first came up the one thing though with Ben Williamson I noticed he did this early in this game he kind of throws his hands up like he can’t see where the ball is swung on golfed left field ranging back of Rosa Raina he’s in front of the track and he reaches up makes the catch that’s 11 in a row put down by Luis Castillo he has held the White Socks off the board top seven one- nothing Seattle in this pitcher duel so far davis Martin will face Cal Raleigh he’s on a pace to hit 54 home runs popped up to left field slater underneath for out number one to start this seventh inning rosarena hooks a hopper over to Vargas and Miguel’s throw to first is in time pitch a swing and a bloop fly out in the shallow left and Slater will run it down and head right into the dugout so we have hit the seventh inning stretch two away here in this bottom of the seventh andrew Vaughn steps in swung on line drive left field here comes Randy he goes to a dive he tumbles he’s down he makes the catch randy Rosena a tremendous catch in left field ends the inning and Luis Castillo has gone seven scoreless tonight against the White Sox so the table is set with one out for Julio and now the infield comes up close for a play at the plate out to left field clobbered deep and gone grand slam julio takes it deep and clears it off the Mariners fourth salami on the year and the Mariners get the insurance runs they were looking for and now lead the White Socks five to nothing here in the top half of the eighth inning and I’m telling you that was a line drive into the lower deck in straightaway left field julio Rodriguez jump in on the first pitch from Booer and he hit it out to left so far three and 0 road trip the Mariners three outs away from a 4 and0 road trip as Troy Taylor gets set to take them out the first White Sock batter spatter to reach after 17 previous have been retired backto back walks popped up more like a fly ball into right field everybody stays put and a very important first out white Sox trying to get on the board with Troy Taylor giving them an opening here in the ninth line to center field charging on is Rodriguez and he doesn’t make the grab so everybody safe and the bases are loaded here in the ninth and now the Socks down to their final out here in the ninth vaughn lines it to center field coming on is Rodriguez and it falls in front the Socks get on the board it is five to one here in this ninth inning and more importantly the tying run now comes to the plate i think you got to see Munoz here andres Munoz has to pitch in this one tonight with the bases loaded and two outs he got a Munoz doesn’t break a sweat the Mariners win it tonight 5 to one they open the road trip winning the first four

  1. Dude, let Munoz rest a little, we don't want to tire him out before the end of the season, we have a 5 run lead and unless we give up 3-4 runs we shouldnt need him.

  2. Not gonna pay streaming services for something I used to relax to after work. Why should I feed the super rich more money? So these clips will suffice.

  3. One of the worst videos by MLB.

You show half the ground outs of the game but don’t show the action that led to the bases being loaded and a Grand Slam Homerun???

It’s ridiculous!! Are you kidding me??

    It defies common sense

  5. Once again, a Sox starting pitcher gets no run support.

@ 3:24 I see the White Sox are really milking this Pope thing. What’s next? A Pope Leo bobblehead night (first 14,000 fans) presented by He Get Us?

  6. Momentum in baseball can shift so suddenly from pitch to pitch. For ex: Troy Taylor’s outing in the 9th- the Ump completely changed the outcome of the first AB imo. His 2 missed calls early in the AB had such a devastating effect on TT’s outing. If the Automated Strike Ball system was in play, Taylor could’ve easily had 2 strikes on that first hitter very early in that AB empowering him with the confidence to finish off that 1st hitter. Those missed calls completely changed his outing imo. Baseball is such a weird game full of ‘what if scenarios’ and ‘’different outcomes on another night.” That was def one situation where I could see a different outcome for TT had he been given the 2 strikes on perfectly good pitches to the first hitter. He’s in a completely different mind set when he’s empowered by the confidence he gets from executing the first out quickly. Instead we saw the game speed up on a young Pitcher, who gradually lost the confidence and with it the feel of his pitches.

Now granted TT is still trying to find his command after being on the IL and one could argue Dan Wilson should not be letting TT build up his confidence in a 9th inning setting. I know the CWS are not a good team but the 9th inning is not the place to find your command even with a 5R cushion. It’s a whole “different animal” for any Pitcher, especially one with such little MLB experience. But….hey Dan is still wearing his Learners Patch with in game decisions.

  7. Whoever compiles these mariners highlights needs to get fired. We do not give a damn about ground outs

  8. Nicely done editors, show the losing team how they loaded the bases to score one run and skip all of that for the winning team as they went on to hit a grand slam. Brilliant stuff guys.

  9. You really need quality control when posting highlights. For a billion dollar org it’s been terrible.

  10. How can they afford to pay this massive contracts with all those empty seats? Looks like they couldn’t give those tickets away let alone sell them

  11. Calculating to this point in the season (by # of games) I believe the White Sox have one of the absolute worst records in the history of baseball. I have MASSIVE respect to the White Sox fans who come out and watch games like this.
