Luke Littler has been awarded an MBE for services to darts. The 18-year-old is currently the world No 2 and the reigning world champion, the youngest in the sport’s history.
Littler’s rival, Luke Humphries, has also been awarded an MBE for services to darts. He is the world No 1 and former world champion, having won the title in 2024.

i’m incredibly proud You know it’s obviously a proud moment for my family as well Um I didn’t expect to get it to be honest when I got the letter It was quite unexpected for for me Um you know not really something I was thinking about so soon in my career Usually get it um you know quite later on in your careers but you know me and Luca have had a massive impact towards the world of darts and uh especially Luke you know he’s he’s brought in a an incredibly young generation of of darts that will come along and and build the sport massively more than it is now So uh yes it really is a privilege really excited to to go in there and receive it and uh yeah I’m really looking forward to it Very happy for myself I didn’t think I would ever I’d ever receive one obviously for myself and we’ve seen the likes of obviously Fallen Sherik she received one from her world championships in the past but for myself and what I’ve done it’s just unbelievable and what I’ve done for my my sport Um but yeah I’m I’m happy My family’s happy and I can’t wait to receive it I think for how many that actually have got one you know I think there’s only about four or five dark players that have ever had one Uh and to become six and seven you know between us that says a lot You know it’s two in the same year Um it’s it’s a fantastic achievement You don’t you don’t get an MB for for nothing You know you have to have brought so much to a sport or you know provided so much And I feel like I’ve done that with the way I’ve gone through a lot in my in the last sort of four to five years I managed to shoot myself up the rankings and win so many major titles And then obviously with Luke being so young in his first major final at 16 you know we’ve we’ve sort of come up at the same time and it’s kind of nice that we get to share the moment together as well And uh you know like I said this is this is a special moment for our families because um we’ve achieved so much in darts but when you achieve something of the highest order it really is a is a privilege Yeah Um obviously the this award that we’ve got it’s it doesn’t come very often Like we said we might be the sixth and seventh D players that have ever received one Um but for myself like we’ve like we’ve both said so early in our careers Um but what I’ve done for for myself obviously opened up my own arts academy seeing the younger generation come up Um but like you said there it’s a massive massive boost for us two coming into the World Cup this weekend I think it give us a little bit more fire as well I think it makes us want to go out and perform even more now because uh you know it’s quite a special achievement It’ll be a lovely way to to finish the weekend off with another World Cup medal for us both

I always find the sports stars that get honours off of the royal family have done more than just be good at there sport. Sir Lewis Hamilton is the best ever F1 driver but has also pushed for equality in the sport and done the great work with mission 44 and he’s one of the only black drivers in F1 history.
Sir Andrew Strauss gets in as one of England’s finest test openers and a man who captained that great Andy Flower side which got to number 1 in the world then fell away inside 18 months, but he also had the tragic loss of his wife Ruth and all the amazing work his foundation does helping people who like him had a young family and dealing with the bereavement.
Or Beckham just got Knighted, we know his footballing legacy, but he’s done lots with UNICEF over the years as well.
And I think these guys deserve these MBE awards because they are obviously great players but they transcend the sport, they’ve changed darts, more people than ever now want to play or watch darts because of them. It is truly amazing.
Has phil taylor never received any honours? Bizarre if he hasn't
These two will be at the forefront of darts for the next 2 decades
Well deserved, we love watching darts, a great way of teaching kids about numbers as well.
Well deserved, both of them. 🙂
Now, go get that title, boys!
Well deserved, we all love to watch you play.
Come on england 🎉🎉🎉🎉
both lukes deserve it
Deta Hedman has also been awarded an OBE in the King's Honours List.
Congratulations, Deta 👏
I saw you play luke littler and humphries
Anyone gets an MBE these days 😂😂😂😂
Congrats to both Lukes for their latest Achievements King Charles.
I ve started watching darts again because of the Lukes. Well done you both.
What the point 👉 when other people are doing more in harder ways ..out on streets army that lost there lives lost there lifes ..❤
An MBE for playing darts ???? Come on ffs ! Luke Littler is just a young lad who looks 10 years older than he actually is who can play darts !!! These honours are being given to anybody now !! Why not give the bin men one too for emptying my bin every week !!!!
The system knocking white and praising some 😂
Fully deserved and couldn’t go to two better lads 👍 Both done so much for our sport over a short space of time 🎯
Well deserved both great ambassadors for the sport.
I'm a long-time fan of darts and, recently, both Lukes but seriously, these honours are being given out like Pick & Mix these days.
Hes only been playing two years! 😂😂
michael smith deserves it if humphries deserves it
Cool hand nuke
Well done to Luke Littler "The kebab loving Arrows Ace" ( courtesy of The Sun) and Luke Humphries " Mr Nice Guy"..Good luck against Germany tonight..
These awards are meaningless if they can give it to Beckham and Kahn to name but two
What a top set of lads. Humphries is the kind of guy that gets on with everyone.
These MBEs are given out Willy nilly these days, they are now meaningless as opposed to 40- 50 years ago when they were awarded to deserving people.
I’m sorry lads to be persons so young in darts I think there are others who have played the sport far longer and far more deserving of such an honour I.e Taylor, Priestley, Lowe and Deta Hedman, Lisa Ashton , Barry Hearn who started it all by promoting Darts, I find it staggering, you both have brought something new to the game and your both exciting players and will probably dominate the game for a few years to come until the next big thing arrives, MBEs in another 5-10 years but not right now, those before you both deserve the notoriety. Just my humble opinion.
😂….. laughable.
Luke Humphries, Congratulations, 👏
Congratulations Lads!
After Khan getting a knighthood, these awards do not have the same prestige. sorry lads, not your fault.
I predict a riot
Congrats boys 🎉🎉
These MBE’s and Knighthoods hold about as much standing as a jim’ll fix it badge…..Giving it to sportsmen and women for basically doing their job is scandalous and ridiculous……What about the nurses who have dedicated their lives to the NHS?
