hi I’m Ga Milotsi and uh I won here last year last year and here uh I’m trying to defend my title this year and now I’m here on the short game era and practicing one of the most important golf shots which is uh the approach when we miss the the green in regulation we have to uh try not to lose a shot so I like to hit different kind of shots um most important thing for me is to take a spot visualize the trajectory of the ball and then pitch in that spot so it allows me to understand better how the green works uh how the turf works as well [Music] i also like to use much what’s outside the green so I like to use the fringe so going to the first pin it’s not easy to do a lop shot so to make it easier I like to do like a a lower trajectory and using using the fringe of the green it’s like this and because this is a brand new love wedge I want to understand how it works so now I want to change my shot and do it a bit higher bouncing on the green and see how it works i think it works very nice this new wedge from Tailor Made i’ll probably give it a go this week so on the low ones what I do is uh I try to maintain my face square i don’t want to open the face too much just a neutral neutral stance and then what I try to do it’s like a a pot putt swing so straight and straight i don’t want to use much my hands so I put my ball on the left foot the face is square and I just try to move like a simple pot just to maintain the face angle then if I want to do a higher shot then I change I open the face a little bit more and then I also don’t want to use much my wrist i just do with my face open the same the same swing now if I want to go for example to the long one is just change the ball position instead of left foot I just go middle or right and then I do the same and that’s a longer shot longer release of course if I have to go there then we need to release the club more well like earlier what we don’t want to to do is to arrive at the impact with our hands in front of the ball instead of from here release the face like that’s how we do that’s how we create spin and lounge angle the most difficult things is to release the club early enough to have the impact in position with the hands in position and not in front of the ball a lot of people think that we have to increase increasing loft we have to come this way but it’s not like that we all have to release feel the release earlier and then from here we just turn to to the target that was pretty good spin it i think short game it’s uh very underrated it’s uh probably the most important shot to recover our miss shots so for me even practicing a long time the short shot it will help me as well with the long shots cuz what we are doing here on the cheap shot like this is training our body to be connected in this range of it of swing so mainly from here to here so practicing a lot cheap shots like this can also help you in the long shots because you’re training this kind of swing and in the long range as well is the most important thing so even with the the little chip shots I suggest you to visualize a little fade or little draw and then doing that here it’s easier to do it there but doing it doing it here in the correct way will help you 100% in the long shot as well so if I wanted to do a draw I’ll be I’ll come at the impact from the inside little bit and then I’ll go from the outside then if I want to do a little fade it’s not easy now because the the light’s uphill the wind is coming to the right from right to the left so to hold that shot to hold the line I would do like a little fade with a chip shot and you can see that the bounce was to the right and I can hold it better so what I’m just doing is coming a little bit from the outside and hold the shot i hope that uh those little tips will help you in your show game and uh good luck
