Rory Mroy, Adam Scott struggle in first look at tough Oakmont ahead of 2025 US Open. With less than two weeks to go before the 2025 US Open tease off at Oakmont Country Club, golf stars Rory Mroy and Adam Scott got an early taste of what’s in store and it wasn’t pretty. According to Golf Channel’s Eman Lynch, both players faced brutal conditions during their practice rounds. Despite hitting every fairway on the front nine, Scott still shot three over, highlighting Oakmont’s unforgiving setup. Meanwhile, Mroy had a rough outing, making a bogey on the P 38 using a three-wood and suffering a triple bogey on the second hole despite playing what he called three good shots. Oakmont, one of golf’s toughest tests, last hosted the US Open in 2016. Back then, Scott finished tied for 18th at six over par, while Mroy missed the cut after rounds of 77 and 71. Melroy, fresh off completing his career grand slam with a win at the 2025 Masters, will be gunning for his sixth major title. Scott, the 2013 Masters champion, is still seeking his second major victory. With Oakmont already bearing its teeth, players and fans alike can expect a true test of precision and patience at this year’s US Open. Friends, what is your opinion about this?
