Baltray, Ireland — The pressure is mounting and the leaderboard is tightening as the final round of the 2025 East of Ireland Men’s Amateur Open Championship at County Louth Golf Club enters its final stages.
With 18 holes separating one player from victory, it’s David Howard of Fota Island who currently sets the pace at 6-under-par, carding a composed 4-under round today to take the clubhouse lead at 213.
Just one shot back is Gavin Tiernan of County Louth, who has the benefit of home-course familiarity. Tiernan sits at 5-under-par, currently 2-under through his front nine and poised to make a run at the title.
Moving Day Momentum
Adam Fahey of Portmarnock climbed eight spots with a 4-under round, reaching 3-under-par. He shares third with Stuart Grehan (Co. Louth) and David Kitt (Athenry), both within striking distance at -3.
