Do you putt with an open stance? #golf #golftips #putting

When I walked out there to the putting green, he had asked me two things. I want to go back to my 34 inch putter. He had been using a 33 inch putter. And I said, “How long have you been using that shorter putter?” He goes, “Well, I’ve been using this for a couple years now, but I won the four previous majors with this putter that’s 34 inches.” And I’m like, “That’s okay with me.” And wait, did he ask if it was okay if he can use that? Yeah. He goes, “Are you okay if I go back four?” I said, “Yeah, of course.” And then he says, “Do you mind if I’m a little bit open?” And I’m like, well, there’s a lot of great putters that I played with that were open. And Jack Nicholas would be the first one. Ben Krenshaw, David Toms, you know, he had a a very well-known putting coach. Probably was telling him exactly what he needed to do technically with his stroke. And uh I knew he was going to be there at Bay Hill the next day. And I said to Rory, I said, “Don’t worry about me telling anybody because I know what it’s like.” Because I I cheated on a lot of my coaches and I had a lot of them. I think that let him breathe a little sigh of relief.

What do Jack Nicklaus, Ben Crenshaw, David Toms, and some of the greatest putters in golf history have in common?

Here’s Fax on a key piece of Rory’s putting setup ⛳️
