This is Spider ZT. You might have seen some of these on tour already, and there’s a good reason a lot of players have been having success with this style of putter. We decided to design our own with everything you know and love of spider, but with zero torque. So, zero torque putter designs allow the face to stay square to the path, where traditional putters want to open and close. With a traditional putter, you have to apply torque to the grip to keep that face square to the path. But with a zero torque putter, you’re applying zero torque to the grip to keep that face square to the path, letting the putter take control rather than the player. It’s more point and shoot. So, we wanted to design a spider putter with zero torque, adding all the great things you know and love of a spider from the shaping, the stability, and high MOI, but we wanted to design this from the ground up with zero torque in mind. Now, the key to zero torque is the shaft has to be aligned with center gravity. So, if the center of gravity is far back like our traditional spiders, you’re going to have a pretty far distance from your grip and shaft to the face. So, we designed this to have a forward center of gravity. And we did that through our multimaterial construction with a heavy steel front and a lightweight aluminum back combined with our new sole geometry that has no negative draft and a onederee shaft lean that allows this putter to sit with the shaft in a more familiar position with a very square face. The position of the center of gravity is very important in relation to the shaft. So we have these three weights here where we’re able to triangulate the position of that CG and balance it perfectly every time. Our Spider ZT putter has our Pural insert which helps produce forward roll and it does that by having these 45 degree grooves cut in there effectively creating these beams that when the ball hits it, it deflects and kicks forward. So that’s great technology that we see with more consistent distance control and roll out. It also helps with abnormalities on the green like a ball mark or spike mark. So, if you’re someone that’s struggling with your putting, you’re likely not using a zero torque putter, and you have a putter that has a bias to be toe down or face up, and you need to apply torque to that grip to manipulate that face to stay square to your path. You’d benefit from a Spyder ZT zero torque putter that’s been engineered to help you have more consistent face angle to your path without having to control or manipulate that grip.
