First off, I want to thank this sub for giving me tons of ideas and inspiration – you guys rock.

Secondly, I love quality sounding music and wanted to have it in my Sim room but one thing I haven't discussed on here are speakers behind the impact screen. I called up Sig Pro to ask about this and the rep said he hasn't really heard of anyone putting a sound bar behind their screen either. But he did say the screen will allow sound to pass thru the screen. That's all I needed to hear for me to experiment.

I decided to buy a Samsung 990D that comes with a soundbar, 2 rears and a subwoofer (and can be found for $800ish). Everything is wireless so the setup was easy

I placed it at about ear level and a little bit to the left since I shoot right. I shoot only about 7 feet from the screen, so most of my balls hit the screen 2 to 4 feet from the floor.

That said, this sound system brings some serious thunder to my room and sounds absolutely amazing. Since I spent a decent amount of money on a projector, I now also have a 10 out of 10 theater system with sound to match. It's been fun showing my friends the simulator and then after 10 minutes having a loud full sound appear out of seemingly thin air. I highly recommend it.

P.S. my sim is a still a work in progress and I need to wrap the PMT edges with padding. The pelmet kits online are expensive so I was wondering if you guys had any DIY recommendations for a clean finish that's safe

I also have a soundbar behind my screen. It’s awesome. Way better than expected.

    Your setup looks awesome. Congrats.

I installed surround sound with my build and it’s awesome, especially when we are watching movies on the screen or playing Need for Speed or Ace Combat.

I have a center speaker right above my screen, covered by two spread apart layers of the mesh you can use to wrap a speaker with. You can’t tell it’s there, it’s basically behind the upholstered memory foam border.

I’d put it slightly above the top frame. Angle it slightly down if you want. You’re going to hit 10,000+ balls into this thing in 3 months. One of those balls is going to hit this.
