Jordan Spieth discussed the importance of athletes being role models to kids
Look, we’re I think it’s any athlete, right? I mean, kids want to be athletes when they grow up. A lot of them do. Um, and I I believe that there is a responsibility when you’re in the public eye, that, you know, you should, especially if you’re you’ve been given way way better of a deck than um, you know, most kids. And then especially the ones who have been given some bad cards. um that I mean I’ve always thought and it’s really just comes back to kind of my upbringing with my parents and then also my high school at Jesuit. So it was always to me it was like hey just recognize that there’s there’s a lot of people that are struggling and we’re not. I mean I I’ll grind out there and it may seem like the world’s ending sometimes to me out there but I know in in retrospect that that’s just on the golf course and I’m just competing. But anything that um athletes can do and when I was young I looked up to him and um if you can be a role model um you definitely should be trying your hardest Okay.
