Converted an unused spare bedroom in my house with my dream "budget" build. I was allowed to spend under $10,000 CAD on my simulator (price breakdown at end). Thankfully, I am quite handy and already had an unused computer so the was able to get underbudget by quite a margin.

I will eventually upgrade the Square Golf launch monitor but for the time being, it is working wonders especially the putting simulation. I find it, and the short-game simulation to be the most useful.

PC looks super clean on the wall, amazing work!!

  2. This room looks incredible. Great work!
Now if any of you had to diy the same situation for 1/4 of the cost max how would you accomplish? Already have a projector, a nice MacBook Pro that’s a few years old, considering purchasing a garmin r10 for 450. Any suggestions?

The computer in the wall is freaking sick! What was the inspiration?

    Very nice tho, love it

  6. Heh, price of that PC probably gets close to matching the full build?

This subreddit makes me feel so, so poor.

Jesus Christ… this post is like one of those reels from Instagram… “Watch as we quickly and easily restore this 1950s thing”

*manufactures dozens of one of a kind parts on $50k CNC machine*

“See? Not so bad, and all for under $100!”

  9. Blows my mind that someone would spend double on the projector over the launch monitor.

  10. Can you describe the layers you used for the floor and if you would do it again? In your price sheet I see foam underfloor, foam insulation for floor, and artificial turf.

I knew it was Canada as soon as I saw the par2pro lol.

How much ball launch do you need with that monitor?

Can you talk about how you made the padding? Was that just foam on a plywood substrate and then upholstered with the leather?

are you located near Calgary by chance? Can i pay you to help me set this up?

  14. Where did you get the foam padding for the walls and how did you hang it? Is it up against the wall or is it free floating. I’m looking for solution for my golf simulator.

I don’t see the computer listed anywhere

With my shank, that hallway is in play. Hope you like patching drywall buddy!

Looks sick though man, seriously. I’m jealous

Any reason you’re using the lower PCIe slot? Are you bottlenecked by the bandwidth of your riser cable anyway and want the cleaner look?
