CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – A Raleigh, N.C.-based golf course operator is suing its Cincinnati-based insurer over $3 million in losses after Hurricane Helene ripped through three of its courses last year.
The lawsuit, filed against the Cincinnati Insurance Co., a subsidiary of Cincinnati Financial (Nasdaq: CINF), in Wake County Superior Court May 15, claims McConnell Golf paid “a substantial premium” – nearly $888,000 – to CIC for broad insurance coverage. But while CIC hasn’t outright denied the company’s claims, the insurer hasn’t paid up either, according to the lawsuit.
The receipts and invoices have stacked up, said Christian Anastasiadis, McConnell Golf chief operating officer, who described the damage as “devastating.”
