FWIW, Scheffler shot a 74 in the last round at Muirfield Village last year. Not sure that is the most recent, but it isn't lost in the recesses of history.
And the average score at Colonial today was 71.1, or just over +1. Since Griffin was starting out with a gap to pursuers other than Schmid, a +1 round wasn't going to cost the tournament. The only top finisher with a really good round was Cauley at 67, but he started the day 7 shots behind.
Maxfli Tour X. That's Ben Griffin!s ball.
If Spieth and Fowler want to get into the big events, perhaps they should PLAY BETTER.
On the Scottie vs Tiger stuff, I'm still waiting for an on-course commentator do a Maltbie and say "It's not a fair fight" watching a shot he has hit. But he is the best of the current lot and when his putter is on, he wins.
Rory was in Bilbao watching soccer last Wednesday, not great preparation for the US Open.
Love Lav's red shirt!
Did you see Scottie Scheffler swing during a Tee shot where he twisted his feet so bad he almost broke both of his ankles – nearly turned them into a pretzel? In my lifetime, I have never seen a professional golfer with as bad of footwork as Scheffler. As a former golf instructor, it is somewhat offensive, and embarrassing to watch. Ben Hogan had to be turning over in his grave, watching that awful display of footwork from him.
Schmid is gonna be a problem
Ricky Fowler has become a below average player that keeps being force fed into every tournament of significance. This needs to stop.
Perhaps the PGA might do as the LPGA has done. The LPGA fined 22 players for slow play in 2024 while nine players received two-shot penalties. Enjoy your insights!
Rex and Lav, I must agree with you regarding Pebble Beach during the AT&T vs US Open. I've caddied during the AT&T and volunteered as a marshall during the US Open at Pebble. As you suggested, they are two different golf courses. Night and Day is absolutely the case. It's all about set up, set up, set up. I could shoot in the 80s easily with AT&T set up but would likely not be able to break 100 under US Open conditions. And I don't think I'm exagerating. 😅
You guys think Jack Nicklaus was cool with Rory skipping his place to play THE CANADIAN OPEN? I don’t think so.
Rex and Ryan, I have a PGA tour challenge for Bryson DeChambeau, Kyle Berkshire and Jamie Sadlowski. I want them to play 18 hole stroke play at Rain Dance National Golf Club in Windsor, Colorado. Designed by Fred Funk. 😊🎉❤
I don’t think range finders should be used on the PGA tour, Champions tour, Korn Ferry tour, LPGA tour. All tours should ban range finders. 😊🎉❤
I want Spyglass Hill to be a US Open event every 5 years, just like the Old Course and the Open Championship. 😊🎉❤
I want to see the PGA tour have an event at Rain Dance Golf Course in Windsor, Colorado. A Fred Funk course. The longest yardage in the United States. 😊🎉❤ 8,463 yards.
Great chat lads
Over par final round by a winner? Literally the masters this year lol
