The players ignored the umpire and just kept playing. Malong was facing Wong Chukin in the 2023 ITTF World Table Tennis Championship semi-finals. And what happened was astonishing. The players were playing as normal when suddenly a very odd thing happened. After Wongcha King served and the ball was in play, the umpire calls the score early, thinking the ball is not going to land on the table. Four 10. The umpire notices his mistake and tries to correct himself by telling the players to keep playing. Those still in play. Still in play. And the point ends in Malong’s favor.

    I think the umpire thought the ball hit Ma Long's shirt that's why he awarded the point to wang chuqin. Also I think it's the commentator saying play, not the umpire

    democratic hugo is only half the game – communist chinese players r the other half – they play well n work hard too – without them there is no game – they r humans too – hugo only lovefest is getting real old after only a few days – ill mannered free democratic world – hatred of chinese communist is so obvious – even by other asians – like koreans n taiwanese – koreans r very happy now they can lose to some other country than china – democratic countries hatred n bashing of communist countries is scary – communists countries never show such hatred towards the democratic countries

    He shouldn't have rushed to say the score. I think replaying the point would be the fairest thing to do there. The players weren't wrong for continuing to play, though, since the umpire didn't say anything.
