The European Swing returns this week as the DP World Tour heads to Belgium for the Soudal Open. After a week’s break for the US PGA Championship, the European Swing picks back up in Belgium. Recent first-time DP World Tour winners Martin Couvra and Marco Penge are also both in action, with 14 winners so far this season teeing it up in Belgium.

This is the very talented Spaniard Anel Ayora and he is one to watch Tristan Lawrence the South African back from the PGA Tour where he’s had a bit of a rough ride but bang in form here. How about that as a way to finish the round Lawrence round in 66 just the one drop shot that came over at the tough 13th hole but plenty of birdies on the scorecard. Beautiful short game. Beautiful pitcher Jamie. Yeah, we we were with him, weren’t we? The challenge tour grand final, now the Hotel Planet Tour last year and he just looks the winner in the waiting, doesn’t he? This young man has got all the game. Normally a great iron player, Lon and he has been today. Looks back wind. Tight at the Yeah, though, isn’t it? It’s a good shot from Lon ahead on the golf course. Par 4, sixth. And that’s lovely. Very smoothly to four under par. And that’s an absolute cracker from Marco Pench to start the day. Two lovely shots. We saw that Yost has a birdie putt there. This is Aaron Cochril with a chance to go five under within one of Ldon at the top. Yeah, never anywhere else, was it? Perfectly played hold from Marco Penge. That’s to get back to minus 7. Is it going to turn in? No, it’s going to turn away. He’s been putting very well with that lab putter that he changed to a couple of bogeies on the card. Still six under. Course record here is seven under 64. The sudal open champion of two years back. Simon Forstrom. This a birdie putt at sixth and he makes it. Simon Forstrom won here in 2023. 17 under pass. A popular score really to to win round here. Be interesting this year though with the bouncy conditions. Birdie putt but really two putts all day long. He’s normally pretty good from off the green with this stick in his hand. always get he’s very good at that. And this is one of only two par fives here at Rinken. And this is an eagle part for Brown. What a beauty. So from over par to underpar in the space of that hole. Easing up on a wedge. Brilliant from Lee. Distance control. Perfect. It’s what you got to be in the trees here. Try and take the wind out. Keep the ball down a little bit. Yeah, those straight lines with the back and the the legs. He does sort of bend his knees a little bit before he takes it away. I like this guy’s game. I really do. I’ve got a bit of a golfing crush for Marco Benge. All right, that was all right. Just not easy. Lovely sound off the putter head. Lovely putt. Lovely stroke. It was never anywhere else. The king of the bouncebacks. Yeah. Second shot deserved it, didn’t it? Made it easy. Three holes to go for Aora. He’s hit the corner. Only 135 to front pin. Not bad. Not bad. It’s a It’s a trap for the unwary that front flag. How Tom clearly frustrated. Let’s go to the second and long. That will do nicely. He’s been a little bit quiet this season so far. Yeah, that’s a very good point you make and there’s so much expectation from everybody as well when you’re playing at home in front of your home fans, home club members. How about that down the hill? Beautiful putt from Iora and he takes the tournament lead. Was a nice lazy rhythm, wasn’t it? very nearly landed it straight in the hole. That’s a peach. Right up to nine in the closing hole today for Yost Lon. Two players likely having a go at it. Back to nine. Lon for par and an opening round of 65 for the Dutchman. Ayora has found the fairway at 8. Chance to break the course record here. Birdie at a nine. Oh, that’s disappointing from that range. Crockett. Last hole for him. Third of the night through the green. Oh well, what a bonus that is for Sha Crocker. That’s a round of 66 blows. Happy days. Come on, keep turning. Keep turning. Yes. Very nice [Applause] stroke. Back flag. And it has proved a difficult flag to get all the way back to as Jamie Spence was saying, don’t want to go long. Nice line up the semi for Aora. Just takes the spin out of it a bit. Gets the ball to release. Just pitch into the ups slope. Didn’t go. Not a lot of break in it. Oh, just a pair at the end there. bobbled slightly about six inches off the blade. What a shame. Superb day. Still a wonderful. He’s just going to lean on or something with the down breeze helping him. [Applause] Ninth hole and he’ll take the lead. Gray hole this ninth. Pretty good shot as well. It’s hard to get on that top tier. That’s just going to roll off a little bit. Stay there. Stay there. But at least he’s got the putter in hand there. Feet of putts he’s holded. That’s excellent. Get around about the 100 foot mark. You’ve had a really good day. This would really increase it, wouldn’t it? If you can knock this in. Take two putts from there. Should be good enough. Good day, isn’t it for Aaron? This is just on the other side of the fairway for Thomas Peters is where he head out to. Now, this would be a very big up and down. Now, spin down. Yes, it’s a cracker. He’s going to make his four. That would be superb if he makes that. Yeah, just 8% from 25 ft and over. Once you get over 25 ft, your percentages just go bottom out. But that’s a great part. That helps the percentages. Yeah, what a pass save that is. And but it’s very interesting for for everybody that’s watching to see those statistics, Jamie, because this is tracking for John Perry. Never anywhere else was it? Absolute bang center. Such a good all round game. Parry. Tidy, compact golf swing. Could do with it really, couldn’t he? And he gets it as well. There you go. Little fist bump from how Tong find some confidence and find some form again. So Perry down the green at seven. He’s in this part hole quite a few times and he’s hold it as well. Obviously the place to be. What a comeback season this is proving to be for John Perry. This looks like nine green and Sullivan. Oh, that’ll do nicely. Back to level. Now there was a time when you’d have said this is very much an Andy Sullivan style course, wouldn’t you? But uh he’s just been off the boil, hasn’t he? First look today at Anel Hidalgo. Oh, that’s a nice time to join him, isn’t it? Rattled in for a very rare birdie. John Perry up the hill and right to left and in you go. That’s a great birdie at 13. That’s a bonus birdie. Second toughest hole on the golf course. Almost getting into a mustmake situation to make tomorrow easier. Yes, at last for Thomas Peters. It has not been his best day, but you know what? And Johannes Vman who’s not had a good day. Three over par playing the last. Oh, nice way to finish for the net bank champion birdie there. He’ll need to come out and shoot a good round tomorrow though if he is going to make it through to the weekend. One under par. Just an update on that. So if you double that, it’d be two under par come tomorrow evening, but that’s unlikely. Go Sully, go Eagle for Andy Sullivan. Takes him into the red. Very nice indeed. Fabulous. Fabulous spinning. That is just world class. [Applause] To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. And to subscribe, click here.

What’s going on with the bots on this channel wtf
Putt putt putt putt… boring!
I played there one, nice course. But way to easy for DP or PGA tour players and most likely its not going to be especially exciting because of the easy course. Think the tours should put more pressure on the players.. so they practice harder, put in more effort and dedication. This look more like a tourist event
Watched Ayora and Couvra at Walton Heath on Monday for US Open Qualifying. These two the next big European stars without a doubt.
I tried to stick with it but eventually gave up as I was fed up watching this pitch and putt fest. Do these editors know anything about golf?
