If you would like to be a sponsor for the Shore Conference Championships, visit theshoreconference.com. First year of the Kim Cole Cup. As everywhere else in the Shore Conference, they have something that’s known as a coaches cup. It’s kind of like an NIT for you NCAA men’s basketball fans where the lower seeds that wouldn’t have made it into the other tournament get to play. And honestly, I think it’s great. The more teams that get to compete for a championship, the better. And that means a lot, especially for both of these squads. CBA does have an actual short conference championship up at the top. They’re the only boys volleyball team outside of Southern Regional to do so, going up against the Lacy Lions, who are an incredible team. Uh they’ve done a really nice job at 14 and seven this year and they’re going to get things started with their senior or junior setter Madden Moselle as he sends in the first set. CBA swing and pounding it down as Sheamus Mcoldri. So well starting off with the vengeance are the Christian Brothers [Applause] Academy. So that’s an early kill for Mcolddrich. He had 87 of them coming in. He’s a captain. His team is two and one when he has 10 or more kills. And they’ll begin with Jake Tarzian in their junior setter. 21 aces on the season. Little jump serve received over on the left side now pushed up in the air. And a big hit, a swing down coming from the 15 of Mike Austin. So an immediate answer for Lacy. CBA are nine and n on the season, five and seven in the shore. A North. They have a minus three set differential on the season. They’re coached by Jason Olrich. It’s his fourth season with CBA. He actually founded the Jackson Memorial girls and boys teams. It’s a little flutter up in the air and a free ball coming on the side for Lacy. Handled by Heckle initially and a couple of hands getting the block in the air. Now they try again to the other side. It lands nearly in no man’s land, but a good recovery by Cassette. Nice save that time by the Lion Labo over towards the outside. Another free ball coming through. A nice rally here for the third point of the game. A quick little tip over and slammed down again by [Applause] Moldendrick. So, he’s got a couple of kills to get started. Watch this tip from Sheamus here. And the junior captain also hits on the outside, but he’ll just get the fingertips on it after getting the initial dig there and just whoop throws it right over the tall body of Joey Davis, the sophomore middle blocker. Lacy, another set and more hands in the way as this rides over the tape of the net. CBA on the right side out there in white. And over on the left after a big swing and unable to absorb it out there in the gray and blue are Mike Austin and company. CBA on the first run of the contest. These teams have not faced off in two years. Last time they played was all the way back on May 18th of 2023. And CBA beat them in straight sets as a service error from John Mscolo. will give the ball back in the side out to the Lacy Lions. Lions run a 6-2. They’ve got a couple of different very talented setters. Madden Mosella was hurt at the beginning of the season. Anthony Badilla and a 5-1 on the other side for the Colts as this rolls. Nice pass in front of the net. Another slam goes off the hands of Declan Mian as neither team really able to create too much separation in the early going. Both teams on some sizable winning streaks. CBA coming in winning their previous four. That’s a season high for them. That actually comes after a four-game losing streak. Now it’s Moselle. Another tip hits in the air a couple of times. Out of bounds and the pair of Eglacius and could spotty a little too many cooks in the kitchen that time around as they send it out of bounds. So 4-3 CBA lead. in the lower seed of the two as we’ll get it back over to Badia. 29 aces on the season. Nice sinking and rolling serve as this is again skimmed over the net and a nice change up that time by Shan Kennedy. And Kennedy, one of the most dangerous players out here on the floor as he’s got 195 kills on the season, 318 for his career, and he has two games of 20 plus kills on the season, including 24 against Middletown South earlier this year. Here comes Jake or rather Nick Dina. Moselle back set, big swing right down. Gorgeous kill from Declan Mian, his 191st of the season. And again, we continue to move back and forth in the early going of the Kim Cole Cup here on Big State Sports. So happy to be bringing you this boys volleyball match between two outstanding teams. Later on, we’ll have the number seven seated Marbor and the number one seated Southern Regional as the float serve over for the short conference title is dunking it down as Sean Kennedy. So another one for the 12. the senior hitter and the captain leading by example in his third year of varsity volleyball. Big jump serve with a lot of power. Too much to handle for John Heckle. And the crowd goes wild after that one. And why not? That was with some authority here. Look at Kennedy. So, here comes Shawn again. It’s his 27th Ace of the season as it clings around over on the top catwalks. Kennedy on the receive. Another one fired over as Yeah, that might just be the plan here for Liy. Just try to get in the way and hope that you hit the ceiling. Kennedy will send the free ball over back behind the 10-ft line. Another set to the middle. Hammer down and this will bounce away. And another one for Lacy. [Music] Now back for John Heckle. The libero. A lot of aces on this team. Another one from Kennedy. Oh, blocked immediately. Good reflexes by Joey Davis, the walk-on sophomore. Now another one down. Hit up by Heckle. Try to throw it again. And Davis is in the way. See if they play the hot hand. Instead, they go back outside. Austin drills it down and it’s in. And Lacy with backto back points for the first time this game. First time they’ve done so on offense. This comes with a couple of nice job or rather nice touches by Davis blocking it at the line and then sending it to the outside into no man’s land by the back line. So, seven to six CBA and a lot of change ups coming from the Colts as this will sputter out of bounds and just about as well as you could do in that position from Declan Mian [Applause] now for Will Cassat. Three aces, 42 service points on the season. Second year varsity player, excellent on defense, low to the ground. Another push to the outside. A bulleting swing and Maddie Moselle unable to bear the fruits of that. Some great hustle there by the Colts. Austin outside, hands in the air, hits off the back and ultimately Lacy are rewarded for some excellent swings on their end. Out comes Media. And in comes Mozelle again. He also hits there. He’s a center, but he’ll also get a couple of swings as we saw before. And a MCO trying to get a little too cute that time. And for the first time since the beginning of this contest, or rather when it was 1-1, we have a tie game. Still in the very early stages here at Georgian Court University here in Lakewood, New Jersey, the home of really every short conference volleyball final. Another push. Not a lot of clean hits coming from the Colts so far. Tarzian. And again, they just try to drill it forward with Goldrich as they’re aiming a lot for that 10-ft line. Lacy is leaving that spot open. And it’s causing the Colts again to go with these softer touches here instead of trying to blast it past them. And right now it’s, you know, it’s resulting in a lot of unforced errors. Another jump set tip as they continue to leave the 10-ft line open. And Lacy able to collapse on top of it. This hits off the tape though as the Lions unable to get it back [Applause] over. Nine to nine. And the serve goes back to Tarzian. He’s an elite setter. He’s got 810 career assists and he’ll be back for another season. Another one up from Moselle. Big swing recovered there by Cassat. Now they go to the opposite side. Another hit and absorbed by Lacy. They go to Austin. Dunks it down and Austin finds some space by the sideline. Again, another good rally just finding that little space over there on the edge and the outside hitter, Mike Austin doing his job. 147 kills coming into the game as he sends that one in right off the kill. Another swing right next to him. And I mean, just ball watching right there from Moselle and Austin. Not a lot you can do with that one. and put a dent in the floor. And just good clean serve receive here over to the corner. Great set. No spin on it. He’s just able to drill it home. Now we’re not up. Both teams at double digits. And this will sail away off the hand of Mscola. We’ll get things right back over to Lacy. Another swing off the hands. Tarzian back outside Austin. Another back set coming as the free ball goes over. Delin Mian forced to set it as this is blocked away. CBAN with another chance now. Another hit towards the outside and oh, they tried their best there, but Cory Hess unable to direct it as it moves to the outside. CBA’s tied it up again. Cory Hes did US Army boot camp last summer. He’s going to deploy for Ranger training on June 30th. So, some volleyball and then some uh very intense training by the United States military. One of two players over on Lacy that’ll be a part of the armed forces. The other being Delan Mian. He’s enlisting in the Air Force next year during his senior year of high school. Now for Badia, absorbed again by Kennedy. Kennedy shoots one over. We got a whistle here though. Do we have a double? That looks to be the case there. [Applause] There’s Lacy going to try to create some separation. Neither team has really had any sort of lead in this game, exceeding one or two points except from the libero. Now Mian hits it over. Looked like it was working towards the out of bounds area. Kennedy tips it off the outside of his fingers and the antenna as well. And Lacy now with a three- 0 run. It’s 14 to1. They’ve yet to put it up on the scoreboard yet. There we go. This is the first three-0 run either team has had. Couple of service points and a timeout on the side for the Colts. We’ll step aside as well. 14 to1 in the first set of the Kim Cole Cup here on Big State Sports. For years, it had been the same routine, working all night. Ah, those beautiful faces. I wanted more for me, for them, for our futures. There was this day that something changed. A simple moment of dress up. It opened my eyes. Take charge of your future and go big at CCM. Back in action from Georgian Court University, which is one of the many places in which uh head coach of CBA’s uh coach Jason Olrich uh has gainful employment. He’s the associate head coach at Georgian Court, the head coach here at CBA. He also runs a club volleyball team and he teaches at Jackson Memorial. So, uh four jobs and also a splendid looking suit. to try to stop the service run from Padilla. Lob to the back. Austin Padilla backet swing from man. Right by the 10- foot line. For set as Kennedy is able to direct it. Badia. Beautiful backside. Big swing by man. Man, what a set that time from Declan or rather a hit from Mian and Badia pushed it up perfectly. So, the timeout not bothering Lacy at all. They’re five away from winning the race to 20. Largest lead for either team. Big left-handed serve towards the outside. They weren’t didn’t look like CBA quite knew what was happening there, but then dysfunction on the other side as well. So, wires being crossed all over the place. Checking in now amid the 24 of Nick Dina. He’s got 17 aces on the year. 17 service points in his last three games. Four along the back line for the Lions, at least on the server seat. Media. Another set. Slammed down by Hess recovered. Another battle for it. Hesits it way up in the air. Now tipped over the first line of defense for the Colts. Another tip. slammed down and it goes out of bounds. Kennedy can’t believe it, but it certainly looked from here as if he missed the boundary. He was celebrating, but it’s been taken away from him. Kennedy though has been excellent. One of the most talented players out there on the team and looking for another big hit here as it goes right off of the hands of Hes but still gets in front of him. So Kennedy makes it happen again and that is a Baker’s dozen points now for the Christian Brothers Academy. Again, a perennially good team here. A bit of a down season, but still gets to compete here in the Kim Cole Cup against a very good Lacy team. Nice little kick save that time. All the way towards the boundary and this is going to roll over. Great save out of bounds. Wow, what an effort by Mike Austin. That didn’t look like it was going to be much of anything. It starts off with a little kick save and then just a misplay right there by CBA. So lines up by four again, but give it [Applause] away as the first set remains tight between these two short conference foes. Austin sets it over to the back line and tossed over by man. Another set on a two. Slam down. A good cut by McGoldri. And CBA getting back-to-back scores for the first time since their sixth and seventh points. Would like to turn this into a three-0 run here with Will Cusat. 42 service points for the lobero as Cusant will send it over. Received by Mian. Great set to Austin. Files one through. What a swing. Austin’s got a great right hand. And just look how smooth this hit is. And he’s got great chemistry with his setters. Padilla leaves it in the air just long enough. And a great read that time. And that boundary over there over on the far side, that’s been his office. He hasn’t missed much today. And sent right to the back and an ace. [Music] [Applause] And another timeout for the Christian Brothers Academy. So coach Olrich not really liking what he’s seeing. His team trailing by four in the first set. We’ll be back with more after this. David A. Santini CPA LLC providing financial peace of mind. Let us take the stress out of taxes for you too. Peace, love, and taxes. So, CBS uh CBA has burned a couple of timeouts as we have likely the conclusion of set number one of the Kim Cole Cup. Unless Lacy falls behind and calls a timeout, they’re six away from winning the set and they’re tied for the largest lead that they’ve had all day. Again, there’s not a lot of recent history between these two teams. the first time they’ve played in a couple of years and very different players on both sides as it’ll be Madden Moselle, the junior setter to deliver the serve, attacks the backline. Another great set on the one and cranked down by Sheamus [Applause] McGoldri and right now CBA certainly winning the battle in the middle as McGoldri’s got a handful of kills out here today. There’s another great set by Tarzian about about a one set there just above the net as now will work things back over as Tarzian delivers it. Now a swing to the outside and just a bit deep from Baldini. First time that we’ve seen Baldini today. He is the first ever varsity letter winner in the 18 years of this program. So he’s really made a big impression on coach Romeo in his 17th season with the Lacy Lions. Another one too deep from Austin. And Austin’s mostly been hitting from the outside. this time cycled over to the opposite and CBA off the timeout have now scored three times in a [Applause] row. Now for Tarzian. Some tumbling action on the serve. Opposite side. Austin off the hands there of Kennedy. And the race to 20 is won by the Lions. And our lead volleyball expert Josh Willis always talks about that that race to 20. Usually if you can get there, you can close things down. And now it’s a gap of just two points here, but you’ve got one of your best men out there in service in Austin. Hit directly to Moselle. Beautiful back step from the lobero. Just dunked over. Wow, what a play that time by John Heckle. Came in with just 19 career assists. And now a up to number 20 after that beautiful little move. Austin pushed ahead for Tarzian. Another throw over, blocked down by Davis. Big swing tipped off a hand and it will go by way of [Applause] CBA. And we were expecting a close one between these two as well. You know, in terms of powerpoints and things like that, they’re both ranked number 14 in their respective sections. 14 in north group three for CBA, 14 and south group two for the Lions. So both teams will make the state playoffs and they’ve got some tough opponents on the horizon if the seating sold. It will be Milbour for CBA and it’ll be Pineland for the Lions and that will likely be their next game here. Nothing left on the schedule. This hits some hands, but also hits to the hardwood there from Declan Mean. And he’s been a nice weapon here for Lacy so far today. [Music] Another check back in. Tips off the tape. Tough set for Tarzian. Swing goes down right back where it came from. Lacy two points away and another four-point lead. [Applause] So got to continue the service run. Little cut shot now up from Mlacius. Free ball for the Lions. Set towards the outside. Mian attacks the back row. CB able to keep it very high set. Kennedy winds up. tips it over and a great change of pace in midair that time from Shan Kennedy. So CBA not quite out of it yet trailing by just three and Sheamus Fold one of their captains try to help them hang on in set number one set to the middle down by Hess up in the air and they’ll keep it. [Music] [Applause] And now Lacy one away. [Applause] It’ll be Anthony Badia who went on a long service run earlier in this first set. Let’s see what he’s got here. He’s got a big left-handed swing. Punches it and he’s got the ace. Anthony Padilla closing it out in style. And after one set of play, Lacy up one to nothing as they win this one 25 to 20. We’ll step aside as the team switch sides. Let’s check this one again. And just a great swing. Lot of power on the jump. Hits it to the back row. There was a strong effort at the end of it. I believe it was Moldendrick, but just couldn’t quite get there in time. We’ll be back with set number two of the Kim Cole Cup as part of the Shore Conference Tournament here on Big State Sports. Set number two just about 30 seconds away here on Big State Sports, part of the Kim Cole Cup. And a big thank you to the short conference for always having us down here. So, set number two coming your way. 25 to 20. Lacy on top of the first. So, both teams got to the double decade mark. as the two teams will actually stay on the same side here. Coming up on the horizon, of course, we’ve got Marorrow, the number seven seed, a Cinderella team in the short conference tournament, getting ready to take on the perennially dominant Southern Rams, who I that’s just the case in New Jersey volleyball generally, you know, when it comes to the state tournament, when it comes to the conference tournaments, when it comes to just winning the conference itself. Uh, you know, really all of it, the boys and the girls side. just always a phenomenal phenomenal team. They’ve got volleyball running through their veins as CBA will look to try to climb back into this one. Again, the Christian Brothers Academy are on a four-game winning streak, which is a season high, but on a sevengame winning streak are Lacy. They’re seven- in May, and they’ve only dropped four sets this month. So, they’re playing some of their best volleyball here in the second half of the season. as prior to that they were seven and six. We’ll start with Tarzian. There we go. Moselle swing. Austin saved that time by Davis. Austin will get another chance now and a bit more towards the middle of the floor as Here we go. Mcolo close to the net. Pushed back over and CBA to settle it down with a glacius. Another tip. We had hands over the side and oh, it’s out anyway as they call it a double on the side for the Christian Brothers Academy. So, Lacy now dating back to the last set or pardon me. No, that’s going to go over to CBA on the double by Lacy. So back for Tarzia. Austin absorbs. Moselle over to the middle for Davis. And too much heat on [Music] [Applause] it. Davis just 22 kills on the season, but there’s a really nice piece on the team. Again, came came in as a walk-on on the team after not having a lot of indoor volleyball experience, and he’s slotted in really nicely. He’s an excellent defensive player for coach Romeo. Now from the outside and not able to get it over was Declan [Music] [Applause] Mian. And Davis also a multiport athlete, football player and a wrestler for Lacy. Usually the volleyball’s not the third sport in that uh in that type of trio, but again he’s certainly suited for it. There’s the big effort. Going to take a lot to get it over the net. It’s going on a diagonal and just sits off to the side. CBA off to a nice full row [Applause] run to start off the second set as Lacy a bit disorganized after winning the first set on an ace from the center. Padilla Davis blocked recovered. One more for Davis now. Aims a little bit more towards the near side. A miscommunication and Lacy get back on the scoreboard. It’s four to one. Yeah, if you’ve give Austin multiple chances, he’s usually going to make you pay on the second one. I’ll go back to Moselle. Team was one and four before he came back from injury. So he’s made a massive difference helping this team run their 6-2 as this is caught by one of the scorekeepers. So CBA back on top or remaining on top as they complete the side out back from Mscolo. MCO had a couple of you know air type of shots back in the first set but looking to settle down here after he had a great swing on that serve. Now arcs that one to the back line. Heckle back serve. Austin from the opposite and it is blocked but unable to direct it the way they want [Applause] it. So now back for Austin. Coach called him one of the smartest players that he’s ever coached. He excels in the classroom just as well as he does out here on the floor. He’s well on well actually in you know coach Romeo’s words he’s in line to be the class of 26 valictorian. So be able to do that and balance it with the sport. You know excellent effort coming from the 15 of Austin. Now a big swing did that stay in and it found its way out of bounds. A lot of velocity, but the precision wasn’t quite there. So, we’ll keep it with Mike Austin on this run. Lacy looking to tie it up after a 40-0 run to start the set for the Colts. Swung over. Blocked away off the hands of me Davis. Back for Kennedy. Always dangerous. Dook down again. Oh, and Kennedy can’t believe it. They’re trying to say that Davis reached over but not going to get the call as we’re kned up at [Applause] five. Awesome as that one found itself sailing. Then on a lowline drive from Mscolo and now Lacy have climbed all the way back to take a six to five lead. They looked very disjointed at the beginning of the set and now it looks like CBA that needs to settle it down again. A nice run there by Mscolo, but the freshman unable to get enough air under it. Not a lot of spin on that tough set. Still rolls over. Goes back over on the first touch. Racing with Zelle. Couldn’t quite set his feet. We’ve got a whistle ahead of time as a double is called against the Colts. So, not a lot of calls going by way of Colts over his squad. The Lions are on a 6 run. The largest such run we’ve had so far this afternoon. It’s not quite a timeout, but CBA’s players certainly treated it like one. A quick huddle before Austin continues. Austin towards the back. Absorbed by Kennedy. They send it back over to the 12. Austin completes the dig. Mian throws it over on a line off the net and straight down. And the Lions continue to roar ahead. They lead it by [Applause] three. And now another timeout as look at this. Just about as clean as you can get. This isn’t the best set in the world, but being able to help with the momentum just touches it with the left hand and makes it very awkward over for the side of the Colts. We’ll be back in just about 45 seconds. Not really big into committing to things. I usually stop binging the show halfway through the first episode. I mean, remember when my hair was blonde for like two seconds, but when Verizon announced that I could lock in a low price for 3 years for both phone and internet, even if I’m already a customer, I was like, “Duh.” I think 3 years in the future, Pete will be very proud of my decision. Look at me grow. Come on. [Music] Can you hear me now? I sure hope so. Proare Rehab, physical therapy for all ages. We are in network with all major insurance companies and have 20 locations. Visit us at proare rehabilitation.com to start enjoying life again, doing the things you love. All right, so off the timeout, we’ve still got an eight to five lead in favor of the Lions. And it works well because the scoreboard here, Georgia Court uh still says line, so it works out that they’re the high seed. Austin on a service run that’s just going to extend even further. [Applause] He’s on a 70 service run. It’s an 80 total run for the Lions who are trailing 5 to one. And now an ace added to Austin’s Ledger. Let’s see if Kennedy can change it. Off his body, back up in the air. Can they get it over the tape? And no, they cannot. Another one for the Lions. And again, they just can’t quite seem to figure out how to get around this wall that’s been led by Joey Davis. Another free ball they said to me. Beautiful tip over and another one for the Lions. What an unbelievable run. They’ve scored the last 10 points after struggling with their passing and serve receive. They’ve really ironed things out here. Jump set on the one. Blocked again. Davis. Oh, or did he? Yeah, he made a connection with the net there. So CBA finally able to break out of the slump. It looked like Davis had his hands on. Let’s see this again. I think they’re going to They called them for the net contact and yep, looks to be the case there. MCO Kennedy slams one. Little pinball effect as me. Well, it looked like he was supposed to send it over [Music] anyway as the Christian Brothers Academy starting to find themselves back into this one. 11 to7 as they attack man now against the net. And a tough pass there. CBA picking their targets and trying to get him a little bit disorganized there. That was just a tough pass over to Miselle. Gold Rick on a two- service run, a 3-0 total run for CBA as this will glide out of bounds [Applause] and siding right out are the Lions as Davis will get a well-deserved break. Taking over the middle now will be Cory Hess, the senior. 18 blocks this season. go along with 56 kills. We’re in the number 14 as here comes Will Oddonnell. O’Donnell slaps it over and they send it immediately. What a swing by Hes and a recovery by the Colts. Free ball goes right back over. The Colts able to reset now for me. Another swing right down right in Cassat’s face. And what a swing by me. And this is the highest velocity we’ve seen from him today. He’s mostly gone with some of those softer touches, but a great set. Hangs up in the air and he’s able to hammer it home. Now for Kennedy. Roll shot back to the middle. Hess punches it over in no man’s land. Four Colts converging. None of them can touch it. And another timeout for Jason Olrich. It is a 14-8 lead for the Lacy Lions here in set number two at Georgia Court University. We’ll be back after this. [Music] David A. Santini CPA LLC providing financial peace of mind. Uh we’re back here on Big State Sports in the Kim Cole Cup. It’s part of the short conference tournament. First ever Kim Cole Cup according to coach Joe Ramayo as Lacy looking to take it home here. It’s a CBA team. That’s again the only other team with the short conference crown as this is jug of the round. And another one set low by [Applause] Odonaldo. And the Lions have come back with a vengeance here in the second set. O’Donnell again. And they lead it by seven after trailing by four in the first six points. Head over by Kennedy. Hess O’Donnell and another chance for Meian. Lobs it over and goes above Tarzian. And all of these bizarre plays just seem to be breaking Lacy’s [Music] direction. O’Donnell on a nice little run here. There goes Will Kennedy. Tarzian back set. Hard swing coming from Eglacius and they’ll keep it here as it was touched by the Lions. So CBA get back on it. That’s a big side out for them. They’re trailing by eight or by seven rather. They need all the help they can get as Nick Dina trying to get them on some sort of a run here. floats it over 10- foot line. Beautiful save that time as digging it up was Heckle. Swing by Kennedy. Heckle gets cut off by Austin. Now to Mian. Big swing. He’s blocked. Sends it back over. Kennedy pass to Tarzian. Now behind the 10-T line for [Music] Austin. Opposite end up in the air. Nice hit by Balticini. Now Kennedy again hits it across me. And on the recovery they dunk it back over. The Lions staying poised and restore their eight-point lead. And now they’re hoping that they’ve brought in the closer and Anthony Padilla. They closed out the last set with an ace. Still eight points to go, but they’ve been looking phenomenal so far today. Padilla met by a pair of Colts up from Berg and right into the net from Kennedy. Lacy are certainly starting to feel it as this team has had to endure, you know, an injury to Madden at the beginning of the season. Madden Moselle. They had two returning juniors quit. Two returning junior starters quit. And coach Romeo just, you know, his messaging before the game is that this team is just completely bought into everything they do. And let’s see if they get rewarded for it. They’ve got another one here from me in 20-9. And the let’s go Lacy chance began to echo through the gym. Padilla with a lot of spin. Tarzian tipped it and it is going for CBA. I mean, knowing knowing the Christian Brothers Academy really at any facet of their athletics, they are not going to go down without a fight. And they’ve got their big server here in Sean Kennedy. 63 career aces in three years. He’s got a big swing, but he slows it down a little this time. Mia to the middle. Hess elevates. Austin can’t recover and CBA continue to climb back. Kennedy certainly going to be a little more careful here. You can’t afford a premature side out on the side for Lacy. You need a nice run here with your veteran. Badia backet man hits it across from Tarzian and the free ball. Some more confusion on the side for CBA. Now Badia tipped over there by Bazelle as both setters are out there right now. Punch down. Oh, what a play that time by Declan Mian. Excellent awareness coming from the junior outside hitter playing middle that time. And yeah, he just noticed. Oh, nobody’s there. Why [Applause] not? Man with 22 aces this season and listing in the Air Force next year. Man on the float, knuckle ball, and sails a little bit too far. Christian Brothers cut it down to 12 or rather their deficit to nine. They’ve got 12. Cassat Padilla to the middle. Hes and hangs on a little bit longer. And it looks like he certainly messed up the timing over for CBA. looked like he was going to slam that one home and instead finds the open space. Here’s John Heckle. Team’s only losing a handful of seniors next year. Podilla outside Austin. Blocked back over by Tarzian. Now another swing. Almost a high five between adversaries. Up in the air off of Be’s hands and couldn’t quite handle it. CBA now up to 13. And again, it almost looks like they high five there between McGold and Davis. And then right there for me and just had a tough time on the receive as it went right in his face. Now back for Jake Tarzian. He had back-to- back 38 assist games last season against Jefferson and How and had 37 in a contest this year. was unbelievable what Tarzian’s been able to do in his career and he’ll be back next season as well. It’s for Kennedy. Better roll on that one. Padilla MIT blocked away. Saved by Heckle will float to the outside but Kennedy saves it. Now another swing down and away from Padilla and CBA with a gutsy rally that time. That one might have headed out of bounds, but hey, if you get set up Sheamus McGold right there in the middle, you know, certainly why not? And hits off the net. Service error from Tarzian. Two away are Lacy for their first ever title. This program’s been around for 17 seasons. 2015 coach Romeo took the reigns from Karen Donahghue and has done an amazing job with the program. Now up from Moselle Austin gets it off some hands and Lacier one away. It’s all up to Miselle. the Lacy fans in a steady applause. Mosiselle sends it over up from Cassat. Another swing. Heckle saves [Applause] it. The Lacy fans waiting with baited breath. Mean over to the middle. Austin, can he close it? Yes, he can. The Lacy Lions win the inaugural Kim Cole Cup. And they do so in straight sets, 25- 20 and 25-4. A dominant second set. And let’s watch that last point. This all revolves around Heckle and this gorgeous dig that he has. But Austin is able to force it right into the blockers. And what a moment for the Lacy Lions. Has been a program that’s been around for a very long time. and the short conference tournament. They never really had a ton of success. I mean, nobody really has outside of Southern. And now in this Kim Cole Cup, the Shore Conference’s version of the NIT, they’re able to hoist their first ever championship and they do so in definitive fashion. They started off that second set slow. They were down five to one, went on an enormous run, were then up 11 to five, and then didn’t look back from there. They have so many juniors coming back next season. And a big congratulations to Cory Hess, Lucas Farnsworth, and Anthony Badilla for this will be their last ever short conference game. All that’s left for them is states, and looking ahead for them will be Pinelands. But huge smiles on their faces and you’ve got to feel great for a small school like this over in South Jersey and on the other side for CBA 9 and 10 but you know still able to climb back. They’ll have a chance against Milbour potentially over in the state playoffs. But right now it is all about the Lacy Lions as they’ll take some photos here at the very end. That’ll wrap things up though for the Kim Cole Cup. We’ve got the short conference finals uh in just a little while. So be sure to stay tuned for that. For Paul Le and Paul Arvy, my name is Ax and remind you as always to stay frosty. A big congratulations to Lacy and we’ll see you in just a little bit for the short conference volleyball finals. by Cassette. Nice save that time by the Lion Labbero over towards the outside. Another free ball coming through. A nice rally here for the third point of the game. A quick little tip over and slammed down again by Molder. Another set and more hands in the way as this rides over the tape of the net. CBA on the right side out there in white and over on the left after a big swing and unable to absorb it out there in the gray and blue are Mike Austin and company. CBM hitter and the captain leading by example in his third year of varsity volleyball. Big jump serve with a lot of power. Too much to handle for John Heckle. The crowd goes wild. Hit up by Heckle. try to third again. Then Davis is in the way. See if they play the hot hand. Instead, they go back outside. Austin drills it down and it’s in by Lacy. They go to Austin. Dunks it down and Austin finds some space by the sideline. The outside hitter Mike Austin doing his job. 147 kills coming into the game. He sends that one in right off the kill. Another swing right next to him. And another battle for it. Hits it way up in the air now. tipped over the first line of defense for the Colts. Another tip slammed down and it goes out of bounds. Kennedy that time all the way towards the boundary and this is going to roll over. Great save out of bounds. Wow, what an effort by Mike Austin for the libero as will send it over. Received by Mian. Great set to Austin. Files one through. What a SW as it’ll be Madden Moselle, the junior setter. to deliver the serve. Attacks the back line. Another great set on the one and cranked down by Sheamus McGold. Tumbling action on the serve. Opposite side. Austin off the hands there of Kennedy. And the race to 20 is won by the Lions. Another check back in. Tips off the tape. Tough set for Tarzian. Swing goes down right back where it came from. [Music] Let in this first set. Let’s see what he’s got here. He’s got a big left-handed swing. Punches it and he’s got the [Applause] ace. Austin has that one found itself sailing. Then on a lowline drive from Mscolo and now laid back absorbed by Kennedy. They send it back over to the 12. Austin completes the dig. Mian throws it over on a line off the net and straight down. And now an ace added to Austin’s ledger. Let’s see if Kennedy can change it off his body. Back up in the air. Can they get it over the tape? And no, they cannot. Another one after struggling with their passing and serve receive. They’ve really ironed things out here. Jump set on the one. Blocked again. Davis. Oh, Donald slaps it over and they send it immediately. What a swing by Hess and a recovery by the Colts. Free ball goes right back over. The Colts able to reset. What a swing by Hess and a recovery by the Colts. Free ball goes right back over. The Colts able to reset. Now for me in another swing run down opposite end up in the air. Nice hit by Balticini. Now Kennedy again hits it across me and on the recovery. They dunk it back over. anything they do and let’s see if they get rewarded for it. They’ve got another one here from man. 20 tipped over there by Bazelle as both setters are out there right now. Now up from Moselle. Austin gets it off some hands and Lacier one away. The Lacy fans waiting with baited breath. Mian over to the middle. Austin, can he close it? Yes, he can. [Applause]
