The most noticeable thing is that you’re swinging way too hard and fast. A smooth tempo is your best friend, think about swinging like 70% until you start making better/more consistent strikes. I’d also suggest finding a local driving range to avoid any possible sidewalk casualties lol. Getting a lesson would be the most beneficial thing, but I totally understand everyone doesn’t have the budget for that.

Your grip bid too strong. Fix your grip to avoid a lifetime of pain.

Buy a 7 / 8 / whatever iron with the grips on it that force a proper grip.

Stick to that club for a few months.

    Save yourself.

Upvoted for road golfing. We did that as kids with actual balls. Yes, of course, it didn’t end well. 😂

Swinging a golf club fast is not about how strong you are. Slow down. Proper technique and impact are more important than swing hard.

    Slow down.

No this is not a real golf ball it’s a foam one 😂 thanks for the tips everyone

why are you doing this on the sidewalk with no net?

edit; no shit it’s a foam ball, still shouldn’t be doing it on the street!

Looks like you’re ready to tackle the golf ball. I’d suggest narrowing your stance a little bit and relaxing your entire body. Loose grip let it rip

That right hand grip is a mess right now. That’s the first thing we gotta fix before getting into tempo or anything else. If you start learning without holding the club properly, you’re just going to build a ton of bad habits to compensate.

There’s endless grip basics videos, articles, pictures etc out there. Watch a few and build the habit of letting go of the club and regripping it properly before each swing.

Don’t let the haters tell you not to try to hit it far. Learn to smash it first, work on direction later. It’s way harder to add speed later than to refine direction.

GRIP IT (properly) AND RIP IT BABY
