I played my Open qualifying course… and THIS HAPPENED!
In episode 5 of Quest for the Open, I take on my Open Qualifying course – Caldy Golf Club! With my game trending in the right direction, is this the perfect setup for how I play the game?
Huge thanks to… ⛳️

You'd think that after Caddie & the Kid showed my their commercial for the 150th time they'd realize I AIN'T CLICKIN!
Concentration or being concentrated during the round is also part of preparation… best of luck for you Pete! I am sure you will get there one day…
I feel the Scotty has to go, Replace it with an odyssey square 2 square putter and feel yourself become a putting wizard
Damn brother, that's some real serious playing there! AND you left like 4 strokes out there, that's nuts! Well done good sir!
Come on Pete, be honest with your avid fans here???? Do you miss the Lab putter? We know you got the big bucks from the sponsor now😂.
Class ☘️
You are more than alright at golf Pete. Try to stop putting your game down even if it is just part of the youtube personality. You are easily good enough to reach final qualifying – Good Luck!!
Process-counter?
Great video team!! Have we got a Dan Grieve at Woburn on the agenda?
It might just be a UK thing but what are the white dots all over the greens??
Got through regional qualifying twice as an Amateur. Needed 3 under in 1999 which got me 9th from 100 and 70 (-2) in 2002 which got me the last qualifying spot. Final qualifying, that's a different beast, shot +7 around Monifieth for 36 holes in 1999 in brutal winds, only to find -5 qualified. Played 2 groups behind Jean Van de Velde.
best editing in the business, well done, loving this series
didn't you mark the ball on the fringe of the sixth green! Peter?
do any of the other guys from the channel play with you on rounds like this? Or are they all filming?
Cause you’re very average club pro standard!
Pete you got to replace the grip on the Scottie. I had that grip and its so poor, a good superstroke will sure up a lot of missed putts I believe
Great round Pete, well done 👏
Great vidéo. Quick question, why did you give up your L.AB. putter ?
I feel like you're struggling more this year compared with last year's videos
Great video! Love the confidence you are showing in your self. Keep up the hard work, it is paying off. We are all cheering for you to make it this year!!
I know you are sponsored but man you putted so much better with the DF3
I really enjoy watching your videos Finchy. I think you’re fantastic with your woods and irons and I love the way you explain things. But I can’t help but get the feeling that when it comes to putting, particularly anything longer than 3 foot, you have a massive dip in confidence. Your body language suggests that you’ve already resigned to missing the putt before you’ve taken the shot. Would you agree that putting is probably the worst part of your game? And if yes, why do you think that is?
Must admit pete I do love Caldy not seen many youtubers playing here to be honest good too see bud keep up the brilliant work
Try Ray Floyd's tip for chipping – use your putting grip and "putt" the chip.
Dude it’s hard to take someone’s dreams of being a pro athlete seriously when they’re 40 lbs overweight. No offense, but you’re leaving strokes on the table.
Huge props to you Pete for that round, the commentary, the advice, and the humour BUT chapeau to Mick and the team for the edit and the graphics. Love the distance to pin addition, the cut-aways to the practice/lesson – amazing, music perfect. Seriously the best team in YouTube golf – it's another level. Loving this edition of Quest – you have upped your golf and your YouTube game for 2025.
I wish I had known you were at Princes I would loved to meet you. That course is literally 10 minutes away from me. Great round Pete. You will smash qualifying this year.
Here to watch Homer Simpson
playing brilliant Pete. Great to watch.
